Good Sunday morning, everyone. It's bright and sunny here although there was a frost overnight.

Nanto, lovely flowers to brighten our day. Many thanks. My mum used to make lovely toad in the hole, but I never have much success. I think it's one of those meals youngsters don't know very well.

Gem, those games sound fun. Our GDs taught us to play Uno last summer, but I've never tried any of the others.

Oma, I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly. All you can do is rest and be kind to yourself. If you're feeling like my OH you won't want to do anything. How is B? I hope he's better. It's a good job you told GS not to come round this week-end, but I bet he's worried about you both. Sending hugs. xxx

No plans for me today. Just keeping on top of things in between being Nurse in Charge of my patient.

Plant, enjoy the sunshine. Your games afternoon in the village hall is a real bargain, and a lovely social time as well, I'm sure.

It was lovely wasn't it Nan2? Good to see the sun .

The games afternoons sound really good Plant.

Daisy I hope the nursing isn't tiring you out too much xx

I hope you and B have a good night Oma and feel better tomorrow.

I changed my mind about sausages tonight. We bought some lamb steaks and had those. And very nice they were

After a bright start it went quite cold here. A couple of days ago I started to do the winter pruning, but although it was dry it was too cold to do any gardening today.

Gem, I had a lazy afternoon watching tv.

Nanto, it's nice to have unexpected visitors.

              Good morning.

Hoping those under the weather feel better soon.

Gem,I haven't watched last night's episode yet, I've recorded it. Might get to watch it today.

Chicken, leeks and mushrooms in the slow cooker.
I'll make some of it into a couple of pies tomorrow. The rest of it will be frozen in portions to have with potatoes and veg.

Chips, peas and chicken goujons today for dinner.

Good morning everyone, and Mickey Mouse

Nan2 there were uplifting moments in CTM as usual but I did find a lot of it depressing last night.

                How is everyone this morning?

Aqua for me and hopefully coffee with friend/s. The slippers I ordered for GS3 are ready to collect, so I will pop into M&S for those on the way home.
I think we are going to friends for tea tonight but this is as yet unconfirmed.

                  Morning ladies

                  Gem
I thought the same about call the midwives but there was some good points to smile about .
Hope you have a nice tea.

                  Nanto
That sounds lovely for your pies enjoy ,

Well I'm up washed and dressed and I managed a little housework and put a load of washing in ,
I am still getting little sleep with the coughing it's horrendous but the cold seems to be going .

I had to put my dressing gown and clean PJs in the wash as I started to cough last night with a cup of tea in my hand ,
I couldn't set it down quickly enough to I ended up wearing it, along with my chair and the carpet.
Thankfully it wasn't too hot as I had let it cool before I tried to drink it.

I went and changed into clean ones about a hour later I was coughing so hard I wretched and peed myself 🤣
We had to laugh or I would have cried ,
So I had to change again.

My DD rang and I was telling her she was laughing so hard I had to tell her to stop or I was in danger of doing it again 🤣

B is seeing the Dr at 9.30 his chest is still bothering him but he's feeling a bit better thank goodness.

Hope everyone has a good Monday xxx

                    Good Monday morning, everyone.

Nanto, Mickey looks very professional in the kitchen! I think you must be the Pie Queen of GRU - you make a lovely variety of them.

Gem, I 'm going to binge watch CTM when I get a bit of time, so I haven't seen qny of this series yet. I hope you get your coffee after Aqua - you need a hot drink this cold weather. Enjoy the tea if you do go to your friends' tonight.

Oma, it sounds as though you are making a wee bit of progress!! (Sorry, couldn't resist that one. xx). Seriously, please don't over do things just because you are feeling a tiny bit better. Everyone's saying this cough hangs on for ages. I hope the doctor can give B something for his chest.

My OH had a better night last night, but he's still feeling really poorly. He's had breakfast in bed and I'm hoping he'll get up and have a bit of a potter round the house this morning.

I've got washing on as well, Oma, but no other plans, apart from Eva's walkies later. It's damp dulyy and drizzly here and I've still got lights on it's so dark.

                      Daisy
It sounds like the virus we all had at Christmas,
It was awful , the tiredness and feeling of unwellness was unreal.
I hope he starts to feel more human soon.

Is he eating ok ? It's not like J to be like this is it .

Dr has put B on steroids,
He also has a cold sore , he hasn't had one of those for a good 10 years .

To be honest if I could get some decent sleep I think I would be much better.

Everyone you speak too seems to be having the same problems,
Get over one and hit with another,

Tonight we are having the first cooked meal for about two weeks.
                      I had a pot noodle and a jelly last night , B had a cuppa soup .

We decided this morning we have to make the effort.

My DD and I were lucky to get over the virus before Christmas. I hope all the poorly folk will be better soon.

After my meal last evening I was sick, not sure what caused it. I had Chicken Kiev for dinner, it was a pack of two so although I think it was probably not that, I will not be eating the other one. My problem is that I don’t have a sense of smell.

Oma, that is what happened to DD and myself, we had one virus then hit with another before Christmas.

Daisy, I think your OH didn’t have any resistance to the virus as he is normally fit. I do hope he will feel better soon but it might take a time for him to be completely well. I hope you stay fit and well.

We have had a very mild and sunny day today so I shopped on the parade near to me stopped in the Italian cafe for a coffee and watched the world go by.

Nanto, Mickey is doing a grand job mixing that cake.

Gemini, I envy you your swim, past that now.

Firstly, I hope all the poorly people are soon better. I'm sure this gloomy weather isn't helping recovery either. No pleasure in getting some fresh air at the moment.

DD is skiing in Bulgaria and the sun is shining there and she's having a great time. Although I don't fancy the -5 temperatures expected there tonight! Brrr!

Reading this afternoon and they're such a lovely little group of girls that I have at the moment. I made sure I was sitting under the heater outlet in the Library as it wasn't very warm although walking along the edge of the carpet to balance like a tightrope walker and drawing clown faces following instructions kept me from getting bored! Their book was about the circus! Stopped in the local cafe to get a coffee and ended up with a slice of lasagne and one of carrot cake for dinner tonight! Needed something warm and comforting and couldn't be bothered cooking!

Was out for lunch last week and the couple I was with are of to the Canaries for a month next week. I was planning to go to East Anglia for a few days, but I came home and thought I really could do with some sunshine instead. So I've booked myself a few days in Tenerife at the end of the month ( or Elevenerife as GM's friend called it) and am looking forward to getting away for a few days. Never been to the Canary Isles before, so it'll all be new to me.

Car in for it's annual service tomorrow, chair pilates and book club on Wednesday, topper meeting on Thursday, coffee morning on Friday and we're back to the weekend! Hopefully February won't seem so drawn out as January has been.

Take care everyone and have a good evening!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Well done WG on booking a break in the sun ,
I think we will all be saying Elevenerife now 😁

Sounds like a lovely day reading with the girls then the bonus of lunch out ,
                            Can't be bad ,
                            Enjoy your carrot cake .

                            Plant
I can understand you not wanting to eat the other chicken Kiev,
It must be a worry not having a sense of smell.
I hope your ok now xx

How is J did he get up today ?

Did you go out for tea?

I'm feeling a lot better I managed to have tea then a warm home made scone ,
The first proper meal in a week or more,

MIL phoned we told her we won't be there again this week we really don't want her catching this.

My next door neighbour came home from hospital this morning, hopefully she's back on regular meds.

WeeGranny, good for you, booking yourself some sunshine. We've only bee to the Canaries once - Elevenerife. Quite by chance our hotel bedroom window gave us an amazing view of Mount Teide. I hope you get the sunshine and some much-needed warmth. Friends of ours are going for two weeks later this week and they say it's nearly always pleasantly warm. You've got a busy week, and the children at the school sound delightful. I bet they look forward to their WeeGranny times.

Oma, I'm so pleased you're feeling a lot better and B will hopefully get better with the steroids. You've both had more than your fair share this winter. I hope your neighbour is taking her meds. Does anyone supervise this for her?

Plant, poor you. It's horrible being sick. I wonder if it was the chicken kiev? Not having a sense of smell can be serious, can't it. You don't realise how important it is until you think about things. My GD1 is the same.

Gem, I hope you've had a good evening out.

My OH is a bit better today. He got up mid-morning and has pottered around a bit, but I drew the line at sorting out some things in the garage! We need to clear a space for the boiler being serviced next week but today was not the day to do it! I had to pop over to DS2's for something this afternoon, so took Eva so she could play with Cooper. They're like a pair of puppies together - large, boisterous puppies!

Daisy, glad OH seems to be on the mend.

Hope all the other poorlies turn a corner soon.

WeeGranny, we've been to the Canaries a few times. We like Tenerife.Gran Canaria is nice as well.

Hubby out later, so I'm going to make a couple of pies while he's out. I cooked the filling yesterday.

Dinner is homemade ready meal that I took out of the freezer yesterday. It's sliced potatoes, onions and corned beef. Probably have a savoury pancake with it. I've got some in the freezer.
