Very hot here again today. Morning appointment at hospital to see oncologist. He has another scan in a couple of weeks, dreading it in case the results are not what we hope for. Went very hot for lunch afterwards and very nice it was too. Now relaxing in the cool with a cuppa.

Hope you're feeling a bit brighter today Mimi. You'd think with the sunshine it would help, but I've been feeling a bit low too & it doesn't. Qwerty I hope you enjoy your trip out to Whitby. Lovely place.
Today OH has been to a fellow dog walker's funeral. There are about ten of them who just meet up coincidentally but are now friends. He was my age. Now OH's taken the cockatiel to the vets to get it's nails cut. Hope he survives the trauma. Off to continue the battle with the pushchair!"Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Do you mean hubby or the cockatiel Nana.
I did jacket potatoes today in the slow cooker.
Crikey, they were as big as footballs.
We shared one,no way could i have eaten a full one.
The others will go in the freezer when they are cold.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Thank you all for asking , I am feeling a lot better today. I have had a word with myself and I am determined not to let the fall out between both DS 's get to me. This morning I did a load of washing and then did some yoga , had a coffee and then went for a walk. On the way back I caught up with a lovely man who lives just down the road from us and for an 81 year old he talks a lot of common sense. Don't let the b*****s get you down, don't cut back on your favourite food just to save a few pennies , save the money somewhere else and above all don't argue with a fool, they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience . My chat with him was not unlike the chats I used to have with my dear dad.
Just read in my local paper that two brothers (twins aged 8) were racially abused by two girls and one boy , about the same age as the twins , while they were playing at the skate park just 5 mins walk from our flat. They had stones thrown at them and were told to go back to their country . Now behaviour like this has to have come from the parents. How many 8 year olds would say something like that if that hadn't have heard it first from grownups ?
Oma how did the mammogram go ?
Have a lovely day in Whitby Qwerty, best place for fish and chips apparently,
Enfys hops OH's appointment went well
Have a good day everyoneBring me sunshine in your smile.

Good evening.
Enfys, scans and waiting for the results are so hard. We are all hoping for good news for you both.
Oh I bet it was boiling hot with no air con Oma
That is awful Mimi, disgusting. Those children must get these opinions from their parents
Good for you giving yourself a talking to! Hard as it is we mustn't let others affairs get us down if we can't do anything about them.
Glad the cockatiel and OH are OK Nana!
Those potatoes sound huge Nan2!
I called into Aldi again on the way back from mum's as they are having a pet event. I got an igloo type cat bed for the cats. As the temperatures are as they are, they are ignoring it
It will be so cosy in winter though.

Just back from Liverpool. The morning was cool and drizzly but by the time we got back to Cambridge we were all melting, not helped by the fact that the AC on train wasn't working and we were delayed by signal failure! Hope everyone is well and look forward to catching up with all the goings on.Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Enfys - you are doing very well at not crossing bridges before you come to them. It must be very hard waiting for scans and results, but P is doing well in himself, and you know we are all wishing for good results for him.
WeeGranny - I hope you've cooled down now - it must have seemed a long journey with no AC and delays as well.
Mimi - words fail me. As you say, children must be hearing that kind of abuse from grown ups.
Nana - glad your feathered friend and your OH survived the trip to the vets.
You're right - it doesn't do us any good to get caught up in other people's dramas, even if they are our sons.
Nan2 - I often do large jacket potatoes and cut them in half. They're very filling.
I didn't get as much done today as I'd hoped - too many interruptions, and then I had to go and get my car back from the garage. It was a very large bill, so I've told the car it had better behave itself now or it will be rehomed - to the scrap yard!!!
Gem - I'm sure the cats will be queuing up for the igloo in the winter!
How's you mum today?

Mimi I would love to chat with that lovely man. He should write a book. I hope it calmed you a little.
Oma, it sounds like your little Magic loved you to follow you everywhere. In the shower no less. My DD's partner's Gran died & no-one really wanted him, ( the bird.😉). She asked if we could look after him until they could home him. Being animal lovers we couldn't bear the thought of him being sent to Cockatiel heaven in the sky. No-one knows how old he is & we've had him yrs. Trouble is that he won't come out of his cage. Sad eh?
Enfys I hope that P is ok. WG pleased you enjoyed Liverpool. OH off golfing tomoro in Huddersfield...day to myself."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."
