Very good morning, ladies. What a wonderful graphic, Nanto - a perfect start to what we hope will be a problem-free day after yesterday's gremlins.
It's sunny here too, but there's that tang of autumn in the air and the horse chestnut tree outside our house is looking decidedly brown already.
OH and friend N are going down to the allotment first thing - there are beans to pick and leeks to plant. We might be lucky and get to the sweetcorn before the mice.
GS1 is hunting for any electrical items he can 'deconstruct' so we're waiting to hear from some freecycle-type adverts to get back to us. Otherwise I think I may have to lock up my computer to protect it from his screwdriver.

Good morning
I hardly dare look in this morning, wondering what I would find!!
Luckily all seems fine here. Thank you all so much for your patience. If you have any problems with other areas, let us know.
Lock up your computer Daisy we don't want your GS deconstructing it!
We arrived here around 6 ish last night. The cottage is wonderful, which we knew it would be as we have stayed in one of the bigger ones 3 years ago.
Last night I was in the conservatory, trying to sort out the technical problems on the forum, OH in the living room watching snooker on TV - or it could have been golf
Suddenly I heard and saw fireworks! OH came through and we watched an impromptu display! We are right in the middle of the countryside, so it was either the hotel down the road, or someone from one of the cottages celebrating, perhaps letting them off by the lake. It didn't last long, but was beautiful, spectacular, and unexpected!
Today is sunny. We are going to the beach as the forecast is not so good for the next couple of days.
Have a good day everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem -I held my breath, too!
I wonder what the fireworks were for, if not especially to make you feel welcome. A lady from dog training brought home a new puppy yesterday and the first time the puppy went into the garden there were suddenly loads of fireworks. Fortunately the puppy was fine, but I wonder if the 19th August has become a firework night? Enjoy your day at the beach - I'll be around all day on here.

LADIES - I'm sorry that the problems we had last night are still with us. I'm working on it, but in the meantime if you want to post on this thread, would you mind moving to TOPICS AND ISSUES OF THE DAY - RELAXING AND CHATTING until the Chatbox has recovered.
Back very soon, I hope.

Rest and get rid of that headache Oma.
Several members posted in here last night Daisy, so I'm wondering if GrannyMarys settings differ in some way??
I hesitate to say this, but last time I stayed here, different cottage, 3 years ago, Grannynet was hacked!! I was a modertor then, and spent a lot of my holiday banned from GN by the hacker!!!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
