Morning al, it's raining here as usual.
Oma glad you are feeling better but remember you still need to take it easy , very light duties for you today.
Gem did you find out any news yesterday?
We have got GS coming to stay for a few days today. SIL is bringing him here early this evening so if you don't hear from me over the next day or two you now why. Keeping up with a hyperactive 6 year old is going to be hard work!Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Pouring with rain here, again!
Hope you are still improving, Oma but take it easy today if you can. Not worth overdoing it. Hope it's good news for Gem, we're all agog
Check up at dentist this morning then popping to John Lewis to have our free tea and cake, might as well use the voucher and have a browse as the weather is so bad.
Looking forward to our Scotland trip next weekend, will pack waterproofs just in case, and fingers crossed to see Nessy 😀🐉

Good morning everyone.
It rained all day and most of the night. Next doors stone flower bed looks like a pond in the front garden!
Well, I was right about DD having something to tell us! Not the good news I hoped for, but not the feared news either. They plan to work and live in Canada for 6 to 8 months. They have thought about travelling for a while now. They didn't want to backpack and travel around, and decided on somewhere safe where English is spoken. I have been to Canada, and very much like the country and the people, so it makes me feel better that that is where they have chosen. The visa they will go on is for 18 to 30's, and you have to make your outward travel before your 31st birthday. So, it's next year or not at all. They will be 30 in January and May ,and intend to go soon after DDs May birthday. If they want to do this, to do it before they settle down to have a family is the right time.
I am happy for them, and didn't show that I am anything but. Of course I will miss them terribly, especially my DD, my youngest. It's not for many months, but I will be writing more and needing your support when the time comes I know!
After a nice meal out with DD and SIL last night, today is lunch out with OHS best golf buddies. Looking forward to catching up with them all
Enjoy your day everyone!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good for them Gemini, I am sure you will miss them but only for a short time and with modern communications it will not seem so bad.
More book moving for me today, beginning to see the light. I have ordered a couple of new mats, mustn't get my new carpet messy, I am very naughty about wandering through the french window into the garden in my house shoes and the mat at the door has had its day. I am still missing our little cat, would feel better if she had died from old age but I can still see that awful dog attacking her on the chair outside my french window. I feel my DD has a duty to tell the owner so it doesn't happen again but I keep quiet, I know she feels partly responsible.
Horrible wet day forecast for us today, wish I was back in France.
Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.Last edited by Plantaholic; 09-08-2017, 09:22 AM.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Oma,glad you are feeling better today.Just don't over do it even if you feel you have more energy. At least you're not looking after a toddler and a puppy😀
Gem,good news for your DD but not so good for you. I expect they will let their new house when they go? Early days yet for any definite plans.
Plant, take it easy with the books.I think we all wish we were in sunny France but you especially must be finding the current weather hard to take.

Well GS ended up with a split ear and now is sporting 3 steri strips at top , went out with friends slipped banged his head and a nasty deep cut in ear , hearing was a bit fuzzy for a while but seems ok now ,drop in centre Dr said nothing to worry about , hasn't stopped him eating though I'm sure he has hollow legs
Gem glad she's not moving for good just needs to do this before they settle down .
Plant its lovely getting new things done but its the putting back isn't it , seems to take for ever .Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good afternoon everyone. Sorry I haven't had chance to read anyone's posts yet (I should have started here instead at the top of my 'unread' list!) and now I've run out of time. The girls stayed over last night as well (long story) and we're just off to the vets with Eva who has an eye infection, back here to drop off Eva, pick up the girls' bikes and then take them home.
I hope you are all escaping the atrocious weather we're getting. xx

We had a lovely lunch with the golf ladies. An authentic Sardinian restaurant run by Sardindians. I had a very good mushroom risotto. No cooking tonight, we shall have soup and sandwiches.
I'm glad for DD and SIL and know it is the right time for them to do it. They will rent out the house, I am more concerned about the cat, but they assure me they will find someone to take care of her.
If they are out there for all that time, I will definitely be going out to see them!!
I hope Eva's eye clears up soon Daisy. I think you deserve a big glass of something in the Granny's rest tonight, after your babysitting stint
Oh poor GS, Oma, that looks painful!
Plant and Daisy, I think you are getting the atrocious weather we had all day yesterday. it is quite nice here today, if breezy.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Went to Waitrose to collect the mats, found a parking space near the entrance, I had parked in a large puddle and walk right through it. very wet feet as a result, mats just the job. Books all dusted and in bookcase, glass and china washed and back in bookcase, just the odds and ends to sort through and dispose of some and the rest go into the lower part of the bookcase. Off to Aqua tomorrow morning, I feel I need it, feeling very achy and tired, glass of wine made me feel more relaxed.
GS and partner have just arrived with GGS, they have been in Poland for a wedding, GGS is growing so fast it is nearly a fortnight since we saw him, he is sucking his forefinger.
