So much for me thinking it was milder this morning. It is now officially perishing cold!!!

My car is very proud of passing its annual test - I might even get it cleaned now! It certainly needs it.

Gem - I'm glad your appointment went so well. You can now relax and enjoy your holiday. I hope the meeting for your sister's Continuing Car Assessment also went smoothly.

Oma - duck with plum sauce wounds wonderful. I love it but OH isn't keen on duck. All this talk of glasses is reminding me I am way overdue for an eye test!

There must be something in the air (the smell of vinegar perhaps?). We went to our local garage where they were unveiling a new car, and bribing us with drinks and canapés, and we had to walk past the chip shop to get back to our car. Well, it would have been rude not to go in wouldn't it! Actually we had the perfect excuse because the owner is our ex-neighbour and we hadn't seen him for a while, so good to catch up. And I'm sure our one portion of chips would have fed a small army!

Enfys - did you manage your walk this afternoon? I took Eva in the Forest about lunch time and it was dry but with an icy wind. What a contrast to Adelaide!

Daisy, no, I chickened out...it was so cold. DH had some work to do for his video club so I snuggled down with my crochet

Enfys - that sounds like a much better idea! I was going to walk in a densely wooded area to keep out of the wind but the car park was closed for maintenance and I ended up walking across an exposed area with the wind whistling round us, razor sharp!

We went for a walk over the golf course and round the cliff tops and it was a wee bit chilly. Still better than rain!

Clover, looking at the tv weather forecast tonight, it looks as though you will be the only part of the country enjoying sunshine! Can we all come and visit, please?

Nan2 I sympathise with you, if we get a good nights sleep it seems as if we have won the jackpot.

I have only glimpsed outside so far and it looks very gloomy and cold.

Not sure what I am going to do today, yesterday I moved things around in the sitting room, all because we brought a fireplace companion set to stand next to the electric log effect fire. This resulted in a ' wouldn't that look better over there and then we can put those over here ' situation. OH now has his eye on a new matel clock. The one I like is almost £1000 but we have agreed that is just stupid and I don't particularly want one that chimes as our bedroom is just three steps away from the sitting room and I get precocious little sleep as it is.
Have a lovely day everyone. I hope you are all well.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

                    Good morning everyone.
                    Libra, Happy Holidays to you
Nan2 and Mimi, I sympathise with the sleeping issue, although even though I never sleep a night through, I haven't had a sleepless night for a while.

GC day today. Baby all day then GD from school.

                    Have a good day everyone

Good morning Nanto and everyone. I really sympathise with you - getting no sleep is no joke. I know you've tried all the usual remedies, but hopefully someone will come along with a good suggestion. I love the kitties - definitely a happy start to the day.

Mimi - I'm not keen on chiming clocks either. We have an old bracket clock in the dining room which OH loves - full Westminster chime that goes on for ages. A few weeks ago it stopped working so OH asked a friend who goes to clock repairing/building classes if his tutor would have a look at it. We could have a week-end away in a nice hotel for the price of the repair quote! But OH loves it and apparently it's worth repairing. I was pleased for OH but hope he doesn't want to move it into the living room!

LG - I'm sure you will be ready by the time your DD wants to leave. We find even a day out with the dog needs a load of stuff - a bit like taking a baby really! I look forward to seeing photos. Have a good journey. It's half term next week for you, is it? GDs half term is the week after, but GSs have the same as you. This used to drive me mad when our sons were at school in Dorset and I was working in Hampshire!

Gem - have a lovely GC day.

I got very little done yesterday, so I need to get a move on today!

LG, hope you have a lovely holiday, sounds great....

Woke up to snow here very cold, sky is white so presume we are going get more.

Usual Friday food shopping trip when OH gets in from work, then Sat and Sun hoping to get all my lovely GC together for a sleepover, so some extra treats going in trolley today...

I have to tackle our spare bedroom, DD moved out in June, promises every week she will call in and get the rest of her stuff but she hasn't, so now its a dumping ground, will have to sort it, it needs decorating, going to make it into a GC room for toys and stuff etc,

Hope your migraine is wearing off Oma, don't blame you resting up after one of those, takes it out of you...

So sorry to hear about your bad migraine Oma, take it easy.

That is the trouble when children move out they only take what they need and you are left with the rest Pearl5.
