I'm glad your weather has brightened Nan2. it's not cold here but it is dull. We could do with some of your sunshine Mimi
No ironing for you today, Qwerty, you have enough on!

I have done a little of that housework stuff, not too much! Hung out some washing, went to the lady who does my nails to buy a voucher for DDs birthday, had my reflexology. I didn't make it to the cinema. My reflexologist was a bit late, and I would have to rush to get to the one screening of the film I want to see, so didn't bother. I have filled in 72 names on the sheet for my Guess The Name of The Bear for Saturday.
The dull weather is a bit depressing I can't be bothered to go out! I will see if I can find anything interesting to watch while OH is out so no need to have Wimbledon on!

I must be extremely clumsy judging by the amount of 'I've heard you were injured in an accident that wasn't your fault ' phone calls 🚑🤕😡
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I'm feeling tired today, despite the glorious hot sunshine which usually give me energy! A friend who we haven't seen for several year stayed overnight and we sat up talking until the wee small hours. She's one of those lovely friends who you can pick up with at the drop of a hat. It's a pity it was just one night, but she was in the area on business.

OH is watching some tennis competition or other on tv!!! It drives me batty.

Oma - catching up over the last couple of days - what good news that the hospital is giving Brian a month off. I'm so pleased, but you won't know what to do with all that free time!

Qwerty - your DD's birthday meal sounds wonderful, but even better is having a chance to chat in peace, isn't it.

One of the nice things about having visitors is that the house is generally as spick and span as it gets, so I can now award myself a few days off! We were going to take Eva out for a good run this afternoon, but it's far too hot, so we'll leave it until 9 o'clock-ish and see if it's cooler then.

I've finally got my summerhouse back after it being used to store furniture and my craft table needs replacing! It's formica top has lifted in the heat and has gone all bumpy. It's very old and was tatty anyway, but I'll have to look round for another one!!!

The nuisance phone we're getting at the moment is"I'm not trying to sell you something, Ma'm ..." Yes, of course you're not!!! Grrrrrrr ....

DS brought GS2 for his birthday presents tonight , didn't have GD with him but it was nice to have O by himself for a change could give him all the attention , he was very pleased with his gifts lots of "YES just what I wanted " Then we went to our local Harvesters for tea , to be honest I didn't enjoy it ,I didn't know what I fancied so just settled for fish and chips but only ate half ,I wasn't really hungry,

Had a bit of a giggle though the waitress clearing the table was talking to us about how she ordered too much food for her lunch and couldn't eat it when another waitress came out of the kitchen with two meals tripped and our waitress got covered in peas and carrots ,it was in her hair on her shoulders and all over the floor , well they started laughing that set us and other customers off , Our poor waitress was picking peas out of her hair and ended up having to take her pony tail out to get them all , they were on there hands and knees clearing food up still giggling when we came out
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma - I'm sure O enjoyed his birthday tea, but it was great of those waitresses to lay on the cabaret for him as well! Poor girls.

Those poor waitresses Oma, it would be my luck to trip carrying 2 plates of food.
Have a good day, whatever your plans are or aren't.

                  Good morning!
Mum and I are going to see my sister today, and I will do mums shopping, as usual. Why a lady who lives alone, never entertains beyond a cup of tea, doesn't eat a lot, and has no pets to feed needs on average 3 or 4 bags of shopping each week is beyond me!!

Oma, I'm glad the poor waitress could see the funny side of it

Had a lovely trip with our NT local group yesterday, brand new coach took us to Pevensy for lunch and then on to the Sussex Downs and Beachy Head, beautiful views, then into Eastbourne, we had a couple of hours there so a stroll and a cream tea. The coach was air conditioned and when we got off it was very hot. It was a huge coach and took about 15mins for everyone to file off for toilet breaks. Got back at 8.45 p.m., we left at 8.30 a.m. so a long day but very enjoyable.

Hope you all have a lovely day, we are expecting storms, I have builder friend coming this morning to dig out and slab an area in the garden to make it safer for me and I am offf to Aquarobics.

What a lovely day Plant. We stayed in a little cottage right on the beach at Pevensey a couple of years ago, lovely area.

we are off to Devon for a couple of days, just packed our bag, had a shower so all ready now. Weather is looking good, have a few NT properties to visit and meeting up with friends for a meal tonight. Then home on Saturday for DGS birthday

Have a lovely day, ladies, enjoy the sunshine 🌞

                        Enfys, have fun in Devon

Plant that does sound a lovely day yesterday. Having that area of garden made safer is a really good idea!

Plant that sounds like my sort of day, sightseeing, food and luxury travel.Hope you're not too tired today.
Enfys, enjoy your break. Most days we can see Devon from here in South Wales. I think it's about 28 miles across from where we are. A popular saying is "If you can see Devon it's going to rain and if you can't ,it's raining already " Not really accurate.
Gem, I hope you find your sister well and happy. It always amazes me how much shopping we get through with just the two of us and we don't live at all extravagantly
A usual sort of day for me .General tidying, washing etc. Also need to make a shepherd's pie. I know,I know but how did I know we were going to be in the middle of a mini heatwave when I planned the menu.
                          Have a good day all.

Morning ladies and it's set to be another scorcher here. Going to get the dog walked before it gets unbearable for both of us. I have removed and washed all my furniture covers as it's guaranteed to dry well. Off out to meet a friend for coffee later. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone. It's a beautiful sunny day, and already very warm here, although I think it may not be as hot as yesterday - it was still 24C when we took Eva out about 9 pm.

Enfys - have a lovely, lovely time in Devon - we'll sort out train tickets when you get back.

Plant - what a long but lovely day. You certainly travelled in style! I haven't been to eastbourne for years - I have a friend who used to live there - but it was always a beautifully clean and colourful place, especially along the prom.

I agree about the shopping. We go to the supermarket about once every 2 weeks and seem to come home with a boot full of shopping! I suppose it's not just food, but everything else like cleaning products, odds and ends etc, so it all mounts up.

Clover I often find that - I've chosen main ingredients (or OH has!) for a week and the weather is too hot or too cold. Last night I looked at the very nice lamb chump chops in the fridge - and made omelettes and salad! I can see they will end up going into the freezer for Eva!

I've got a nice lazy day today - meeting up with friends for lunch, and then a little light shopping on the way home.

Have a good day - I hope you're all sharing our sunshine.
