Gem, hope you get your dressing soon.

What a day i have had. It all started last night when man phoned last night ,saying i'm surprised you haven't rung to see how dad is, she says it's not like you.
She said he's been in bed poorly, but we didn't know. Mam says didn't our so and so or our so and so let you know.No i said. She didn't know what was a matter with him, just said he felt awful.
Went round this morning, and he said i want a doctor, so i know he must have felt really ill. Anyway doctor came and suspects he has a water infection, will get the results of sample tomorrow.
Came home at ½ past 12,we had something to eat, went for some shopping mam needed, then went back. Been there all afternoon. Dad didn't want anything to eat, which is fair enough, but he
wouldn't drink anything either.Tried to persuade him to drink, but he only had a sip.
Plus, their phones/phone line has been acting up, so i went to their next door neighbour, explained everything, and he said if mam needs anything, she only has to knock and the wall,
and he will give us a ring.
So, it's back round there in the morning, that will be another day when i don't get my jobs done, but what can you do.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oh Nan2, I hope your FIL is soon sorted out and feeling better. I know you and your OH are round there all the time and would have been there straight away if you had known anything was wrong.

        No dressing yet

Could understand if it had hurt when I did it but as I say just a little twinge at the time

              Lets see what today brings.
Doctor should get results from dads sample today, then he will know what antibiotics to give him.

              for all your kind comments.

                Good morning.

Nan2, hoping FIL starts to feel better today.
Backs are easy things to injure Oma, like knees. Take care and rest it as much as you can xx

2 of our best friends are coming for tea tonight, before going off on holiday tomorrow. Apart from going into the village to shop for that, and cooking, I have an easy day.
I am having reflexology at 2. OH playing golf so I will catch up on Dr Who! Also, I hope, I will be going to the pharmacy for dressings!!
                Have a good day everyone.

FIL not too good. Rung the surgery twice, but results not back. We keep persuading him to drink, but he really doesn't want to.
When the doctor came out yesterday i felt as though he wasn't bothered. In view of dads age,i think he should have done more,
he just looked at the water sample and said it does look a bit cloudy.
I know there are other patients, but i think he should have done more tests.
Especially as dad never asks to see a doctor. Been there all this morning, going back later, and if dad doesn't feel any better,
i will be ringing 111, whether dad likes it or not.

Its a shame when you get a GP who doesn't have that caring touch, saw it a lot in my job. Good idea to ring 111 if no improvement.
It has been gloriously sunny and very warm here this afternoon, after doing coat of paint number 3 on the lounge wall, I decided to go out in the garden and scrub all my clay pots ready for planting up. I have the other wall to paint but as it's the one with the patio doors should'nt take as long. Then of course the other white wall seems dull,so that will get a coat as well.Blimey these jobs grow and grow. Plumber coming tomorrow to start on fitting new bath, heaven help him if he knocks my fresh paintwork.

Nan2, you are right to persue things further regarding your FIL. Thinking of him.

I have been in tears today at the pharmacist and on the phone to the surgery! The prescription wasn't send over until very late last night, and when I got to the pharmacy this morning they didn't have the dressings in I didn't get my dressings until about an hour ago. It's disgraceful, and I feel let down. I have not once contacted the surgery let alone been in, since my cancer diagnosis in Decemeber. The one time I ask for their help they haven't done what they should.

Gem its not on , you would have been quicker to drive to Leeds to the unit or rang them , you are sore and feeling low of course you are going to be in tears when the surgery seem to be showing no concern or being helpful , you are stressed enough . massive gentle hug lovey xxxxx

Went to see dad earlier, and he had perked up a little bit. he managed to eat ½ slice of toast with a cup of tea.
His sample tested normal, therefore he hasn't been given any antibiotics.
So if he doesn't feel like getting out of bed in the morning,i think we will send for the doctor again, and ask for a more detailed examination.
i know he is 90 now,but that doesn't mean he shouldn't get decent care from the doctor.

Gem, pleased you got your dressing eventually, hope you feel some relief soon.
We have had glorious sunshine since about 1pm, still sunny now.
Oma, pleased to hear your back is feeling easier.

Good evening, ladies. Goodness me, I'm absent for 24 hours and look at you all! Big hugs to everyone hurting, caring, aching and/or feeling let down.

My usual 2 GD days seem to have been very busy. I try so hard to organise things so that they run smoothly, but they never do! I had prepared a casserole for last night's dinner (after dog training, because I don't get home from DS2's early enough to eat beforehand), put Eva's food out in two halves - one before training, one after, prepared training treats, filled up her water bottle etc etc, and all OH had to do was feed Eva about 5 pm, and make a cuppa for 6 when I expect to get home. But, bless him, he was painting the kitchen ceiling! But we got to the class in good time and I took Eva for a short walk in case she needed to 'go'. She did!!! And how!!! (Skip rest of paragraph if you're squeamish). She had been eating long grass the day before and as all dog owners know there comes a point where it has to be extracted, and the wind blew and it caught the sleeve of my jumper - yeuk!

She was a little toad in training - very unsettled and not working with either me or OH. We got home about 9.30 and I was too tired to eat the casserole, but thought I ought to. I then couldn't get to sleep - at 2 am I ended up taking pain killers for my itchy back, headache and aching legs. When the alarm went off at 6.30 I was fast asleep and woke with a start. Rushed round, watering the greenhouse, making tea, feeding Eva etc, etc, and got to DS2's just in time for GD1 going to school. GD2 was very quiet and subdued - not really herself, so I decided to stay there for the day, and got all DIL2's washing done, cleaned the bathroom, hoovered, took GD2 out on her bike, tidied the kitchen and got home just in time to cook dinner for OH and me, before he went out woodturning.

Then I wonder why I haven't got the energy I used to have!
