    Good morning all.

Oma, 3 hours isn't long will you manage a nap today?

Tonight we are going out for Chinese meal with friends. 8 of us, and 6 of us live in the same village, so we have booked a big taxi both ways. We really like this restaurant and they have big circular tables which are great for 8, as everyone cane see and talk to each other.

OH had a hectic birthday yesterday with GC, and other visitors dropping in. Today we will just relax, and I think she may get a game of golf tomorrow.

    Happy Saturday everyone

Mimi, some lovely things going on there, and you deserve it after all that painting!

        Good Saturday morning, ladies.

Nanto - I hope your FiL is feeling better today.

Oma - no wonder you're tired! Going to bed at 5 am is what teenagers do after a night on the town. Have an easy day and a good nanna nap. xx

I've find exhausted bees in the greenhouse sometimes and give them sugar water. I put a few drops just in front of them and they hoover it up! After a few minutes they fly off full of the joys!

Mimi - that's a good deal and something nice to look forward to after all your hard work decorating.

Our decorating is still in progress! The electrician came on Thursday and fitted the lights - it's such a treat not to be groping round in the dark!!! There's only one wall to do in the kitchen now, and OH has sanded down the wooden work surface in the utility room and treated it with something or other. I still can't get rid of the smell in a cupboard though. It was from some industrial type wipes OH had left open in there and I've scrubbed it, sprinkled bicarb in there, washed it with bicarb, stood it outside - and I can still smell it. OH thinks I'm nuts because he can't smell anything at all! We haven't even started on the dining room, apart from OH has sanded about half the floor. I shall be glad when it's all done!

Gem - I do hope you're feeling less sore now you have better dressings. xx

Isn't sanding the pits Daisy dust everywhere, including in my case a fine dusting of powder in my hair. I sanded the skirting boards and curtain rail and was covered in fine dust. Yes I prepare shilohs food in a seperate place to ours, and make sure to wear disposable gloves (when I remember). I suppose this news is a five minute wonder but will admit the data was pretty scary stuff. Green tripe nope just can't bring myself to handle that stuff, cutting up liver and hearts is bad enough.

Beautiful day here today. DH spent the morning pruning a big bay tree at the bottom of the garden, still got some to do but I made him stop at lunchtime.

Re the item about raw feeding - DD feeds Dexter raw after starting on dog food which he didn't seem to enjoy, he was so picky. Since being on raw he eats so well and really seems to enjoy it. The vet commented on his teeth and shiny coat and said " he's obviously raw fed". Also, sorry squeamish folk, but his poohs don't smell so bad . DD is very careful about food prep, just as she is with human raw food, no problems at all.

We have been looking at cars this afternoon. OH has been thinking of getting a new one for a while and fancies Nissan Qashqai. She wants a petrol model and with heated seats, a couple of years old. The heated seats are a luxury but her present car has them and now we have had that luxury for years we don't want to do without them!
The Omas happen to have this model of car, and we are having lunch with them next week, so there will be some car talk

Cup of tea and birthday cake break now, then we will get ready for our night out.

Daisy, the dressings are much better and original sore area near my armpit is healing well , but the patch on the underside of my breast is very raw and painful It will pass, but it's not a lot of fun!

Daisy, FIL is so much better thank you.
Gem, good to hear part of you is healing well, i'm sure the other patch will start to heal soon.
My BIL bought a petrol Nissan Qashqai, in March this year, and he's been dissappointed with it.i'm not sure why though.
Maybe he bought a bad one, but it is only a year old.
We went to Pontefract today shopping,i love it there. It rained just after we got there, but the sun came out later.
Just been on the Argos site and reserved a tv for picking up tomorrow. I wanted a new one in the room where the computer is.
Could have had it delivered, but The Range is next door, and i want to have look round in there.

Nanto - pleased to hear your FiL is making progress. That sounds like a nice shopping trip with 2 shops you wanted right next door to each other.

Gem - I hope you've enjoyed your night out, and I hope the sore area heals up quickly. Are you taking painkillers for it?

Enfys - Dexter is a lucky boy, and I always think the 'improved' poos are repayment to us for giving them such delicious goodies. Eva feasted on chunks of lamb meat, 3 sprats and a duck neck tonight. It's great that your DD's vet is so supportive - some aren't! But a healthy dog with good teeth shows there must be something good about raw.

LG - not only is the dust - and plaster dust as well - everywhere it keeps coming back! I spent all morning cleaning in the kitchen and when I ran my hand over the work surface a couple of hours later I could feel the dust again! I don't mind cutting up tripe - but I do come from a family of butchers!!

Had rain during the night. Hubby hoping it's rained enough to put some water in the butts.

                      Good morning all.
Daisy I remember when we were living in our old home we had to have the entire house rewired, what a mess that was, there was brick and plaster dust everywhere. I was days clearing it up, no matter how well I cleaned the place it seemed to reappear. And the smell.... that horrible, dry brick dust was replaced by the smell from when the walls had to be skimmed, yuck !

Tripe, it brings back the horrors of meal time when I was a child...Tripe and onions yuck !

We we had a lovely time at the theatre last night. The meal was nice, we both chose a light meal, a Ceaser wrap and salad only OH had to go and order curly fries which I was obliged to help him eat. The play itself was really enjoyable, lots of twists and turns in the story, just as you think you know not only 'who did it ' but why and then it all changes .

It it has been raining in the night but not enough to replenish our rivers and streams apparently according to the news . If we must have that amount of rain, can't we at least have it at night ?
                      Have a lovely day ladies

Good morning, all. A very bright but a bit breezy morning here. Lovely blue sky though. It has rained during the night so my pots had a good watering.

Daisy, I remember having work done in the past and the amount if gritty dust it creates is amazing. But just think, it will all be worth it. We have no more big jobs to do here, the bathroom last year was the last one so from now on it will just be decorating or a lick of paint. I think the days of DH wanting to knock down walls are well and truly over . He's done his fair share in the past!

I have a few little jobs to do in the garden today, everything is looking good. The roses are doing really well, I used a different rose feed in the spring and I think it's made a difference. Otherwise a restful Sunday.

Morning ladies off to meet friends for coffee and chat this morning then a tidy up in garden we get lots of little brown husks from the leaves appearing on the trees and lots of brown blossom floating down so all has to be cleared ,
Spoke to my niece last night she's doing ok but not coping with the idea of the Stoma yet and any little thing she's panicking but it's unknown territory to her so it's understandable.
Daisy in our other house we had the wall knocked out to make a kitchen /diner my god the dust was there for weeks even though we had the doors blocked with plastic it still made its way upstairs , no matter how much I cleaned for weeks I was still seeing and feeling gritty dust . Mimi is right it stinks too
Have a good day ladies xx

                            Morning ladies.
Oma,I'm pleased your niece is doing well physically but understandably she is having a hard time adjusting mentally. She is still weak and probably in shock still. I know she is getting plenty of support from her family and hope she will be well supported bythe professionals.
A walk is planned this morning and then a general tidy up round the house, ironing to put away etc.so nothing too strenuous!

Good morning - I think we had rain overnight, too, but slept through it. In fact I didn't wake up until after 9 am - I knew I was tired last night but didn't realise I'd sleep for 10 hours! So now have to get moving since a friend is coming for coffee in half an hour.

Thank you all ofr reassuring me about all the dust, smell and general mess. I still feel I need a combined visit from the Bleach Babes but am doing as much as I can in the meantime. but the sun is shining and the garden calls this afternoon - an attack on weeds might be a bit easier now it's not so dry!

                              Will catch up properly later.

LG - I've posted you a link on FB to a video by Dr Nick Tompson about the Trust Me I'm a Vet programme. The voice of reason and sanity!

Daisy I too appreciate what it is like to have work done to the house. When the family took over the main bungalow and we moved into the Annexe the builders were here for some time knocking though walls, we lived on a building site for months, walking on boards. I was working at that time but poor husband would come in from the garden to find another wall down or windows removed and space bricked up. The worst thing was the constant noise from their radios.
