I have just come back from Tesco, I wasn't planning on going to Tesco, in my mind I was going to the community centre over the road from it but I thought I would just see if they have any bedding plants.
They had offers on so I ended up with a trolley full of plants, so many I had to have a taxi home as there was too many to carry.
They are on the patio at the moment as its far too cold to plant them out so later I will get them all under cover in case we have some frost as its forecast for the early hours of tomorrow morning. When the weather gets warmer I will plant them out, makes a change from painting I suppose.
I'm going to see my friend on Thursday who has just had her second course of chemotherapy , what can I take her as a little gift , she has a house full of flowers so I want to get her some thing different. Don't want it to be chocolate or any sort of food as she is feeling nauseous most of the time. Any ideas ?
Mimi, the handcream or some sort of moisturiser is a good idea. Or maybe a puzzle book if she is into those? I would say scented candles but I think the chemo may affect her sense of smell and not be a good idea? I know when I was pregnant there were lots of smells I couldn't tolerate.
Your FIL's 90th birthday is my DD3's 29th, Nan2.
It was nice to catch up with DD1 in the car and over tea and cake on the way home.

Another busy day for me with the girls. GD2 didn't get to sleep until 9 pm yesterday, and woke up early so was on the edge of grumpy all day - and didn't manage to get a nap this afternoon either, so she fell asleep in the car on the way back to theirs! I made sure they had a good session on the trampoline to tire her out for bedtime tonight.
Qwerty we all do it, don't we - eat or drink something we know we going to regret later. I hope you're ok now. xx You will miss your long-standing neighbour, but I felt the same when our lovely neighbours went off to Australis for a few years (which seem to be getting longer and longer!). We are now on our third set of tenants - the first was a lovely young family who rented while they renovated another house in our road which they'd bought. The next lot of tenants were there for a year and we never even saw them, even though we called round several times when they moved in to say 'welcome' - they never answered the door. The current tenants are another delightful young family who are keen to stay, at least for the time being, so I hope they are renewing the tenancy for another year. So, fingers crossed your new neighbours will be just as lovely - you will miss your old friend, but try not to worry about bad tenants. My DS2's neighbours are tenants, too and they are also lovely - much nicer than the previous owner!!
Gem - I'm glad you had a lovely time with DD1, even though it did involve a trip to the hospital. Much as we love our grandchildren, sometimes it's nice to have adult time with their parents.
Oma - Storm obviously enjoys the excitement of doggy day care! By the way, I was reading on a dog group on FB the other day that huskies really don't like being left alone, so lots of company is just what he needs. What did he think of your new pots in the garden?
Nanto - I bet your Dad will be very chuffed to see birthday wishes in the paper. What a lovely idea.

Grrrrrr....... I've lost part of the above post! I tried to say Mimi - it's funny how we accidentally find ourselves in a shop we had no intention of going to, and then find ourselves coming out with a trolley-full!!!

Goodnight everyone.
I'm falling asleep (maybe it was all that wine in The Grannys Rest? )
An early appointment tomorrow so I will talk to you when I get back.
Sweet dreams all!

Very good morning, Nanto and everyone. I like the graphic. Nanto you really are an early bird today. I hope you haven't had a sleepless night. x
It still looks cold and grey outside - I hope it improves.
An exciting day for us - OH has a dental appointment and the roofer is coming to plasterboard the sides of the 'box' part of the Velux windows. I've no idea how messy a job this will be but I think I will be cleaning the kitchen into the wee small hours for the umpteenth time recently. OH says not to bother, but if we want to eat I don't want our food flavoured with plaster dust and debris. I hope the weather stays ok, so I can take Eva for a nice long walk while the workmen are here - she gets dusty too!
Mimi - I hope you find a nice gift for your friend. Moisturiser sounds good, or a book if she enjoys reading, something lighthearted and funny. I'm sure the best gift though will be seeing you.

I hope the weather stays fine for Eva's walk Daisy. It felt bitterly cold out this morning!
9.30 am appointment today which considering the traffic in the morning meant a very early start. Lovely to have it over early in the day though
We treated ourselves to a McDonalds milk shake from the drive-though on the way home, one of our guilty pleasures!
DD2 is bring both GC over to see us after school which will be lovely. I will make them some sandwiches for tea. No cooking as OH and I are at the taster menu meal tonight!

Hubby kindly walked Shiloh for me today as I have a poorly Menna with me. She threw up all her dinner last night and is still feeling off colour bless her. Gave her dry toast and that came back up. Hope she doesn't pass it on as I hate being sick, have a bit of a phobia about it. I have been dettoxing anything and everything.
