After a couple of false starts we have finally bought a caravan! OH and a friend battled through the Bank holiday traffic chaos to go to Poole to get it, and it's now sitting on our drive. Guess who will be out there with bucket, mop and lots of soapy water tomorrow! We're hoping to get it on a site in the next day or so so we can enjoy what's left of summer. We're not keen to take it too far until we've changed the car and been on a towing course. We're both ok with towing a boat or trailer, but I am certainly not confident about towing a caravan - yet!

Another sunny day here I think. We are staying home, the forecast is for busy busy roads, not for us. So a day in the garden.

Good morning everyone and happy Bank Holiday week-end whatever your plans are.

It's a day of caravan cleaning for us so we can start using it. we're looking forward to getting off the beaten track a bit and finding nice walks, good pubs etc. We don't go on holiday very often so this is a way of getting short breaks whenever we feel like it. We had a static caravan in Anglesey when the children were little and loved it, but this type of caravanning is a new venture for us.

Eva had a good sniff round the van last night - the previous owner had a dog too, and she went straight to the place where he'd slept!

Daisy enjoy your caravan, today (at the moment) looks a bit of a let down , but it's supposed to be nice and sunny by Monday.

A rather chilly start to the day today and I'm not sure what I am going to do with myself at the moment. There are several tins of paint with my name on it waiting to be applied to the walls but I'm not in the mood to tackle it today. It's not so much the painting that I don't what to do, it's more the moving of all the furniture and odds and ends that have to cleared.
Pleased to report that our cat seems to be on the road to recovery, she is eating and drinking normally now so I hope she puts back the weight she lost.

This afternoon OH and I are going to a country show. We go every year as one of our best friends is involved with it. Her parents farm is close to it, and her mum provides a sumptuous farmhouse tea for us all afterwards Last year there were alpacas at the show,crossing my fingers they will be there again.

Morning ladies went for some shopping early as I bet this weekend the shops will be packed getting last minute school uniforms , lovely day hear , having a few minutes then going to wash the sofas and chairs did all my housework after Josh and the mutt went home yesterday so nothing else to do really , pleased poorly cat is doing well Mimi , Plant be a devil treat yourself to a lovely lunch , Daisy I bet you have lots of lovely breaks in your new caravan lucky girl 😊

Mimi my arm is still very sore and opened up during the night meaning I had to change the bottom sheet. It feels like someone is sticking a pin in it but I am taking that as a good sign. Bruising is going down as well so it doesn't look as bad as it did.

I went off to the butcher this morning and redeemed my points - he has a reward card system. So I got 8 sausages, 4 large chicken breasts, 2lb mince and four big burgers. I also bought lamb shanks for tomorrow and lamb mince for a moussaka later in the week. I also bought a loaf of bread from the bakers a completely forgetting I got one the day before yesterday so I am freezing the loaf in sections and my freezer is full of stuff open freezing now ready to be vacuum packed later. I won't need to go to the butchers again for a while.

I have to to write a report and forgot when I made the arrangement that it is bank holiday weekend and I am out on Tuesday so I have done some work this morning and will be getting up early to try and complete it tomorrow. I need at least one day without work or I will collapse in a heap on the floor!!!!

Went to Pontefract today shopping.
The day started off lovely,warm and sunny, but about 12ish it started raining, ended up being quite heavy rain.

I am the owner of a nice new all singing all dancing waterproof jacket, it has a concealed hood , zips on very pocket to keep the rain out. It even has Velcro on the sleeves to keep my wrists dry.
So did I wear this jacket this afternoon when I went out for a walk , which when I started out the sun was shining but it soon turned to rain , not just a light drizzle , the heavens opened.

Nanto had lovely weather till about 5 minutes ago the temp has changed and the wind picking up now

It is very, very warm and humid here. We have been using the air con units which came with the new Windows, it is lovely to be able to sleep when it is so sticky. I am concerned about how much the electric bill is going to be though. The person from the window company assured us they would be cheap to run, we will see.
