Good morning from me as well. It was raining when I got up - good job I'd taken the caravan curtains off the line last night. I nearly left them out!

It seems to be brightening up a bit, and we're still cleaning the caravan. It's starting to look better.

        Have a good day, ladies.

                    Hello everyone.

Nothing much planned today, apart from me giving OH reflexology.
DD2, SIL and the 2 children are in France for the week. Today is a surprise Disney day for GD. She had no idea about it. I have known for a while and found it very hard to keep quiet about it! I wish I was with her, but we will do a Florida holiday together some day.

I hope you soon recover from your migraine Oma.
I have text contact with Qwerty from time to time. They had the big family UK holiday for her OHs 70th, which I gather went well. I'm not sure if she's on holiday again now? She has phases of posting and not posting on here, I'm sure she will be back
I am missing Nana and Wee Granny too!

Its a drizzly, dull day here. The kind of drizzle that seeps through your clothes, so not only a soggy dog but a soggy owner to. DD and family are camping on the Gower so girls get to see the other Grandparents, camping not staying at their house. Poor DD was horrified to discover M has picked up head lice told me last night via messenger. Her MIL got some treatment and they had to go to her house to use their shower facilities, think she got them from someone at adventure club shock horror. So you can guess what happens yep I start scratching, nothing there but its just instinct when someone mentions it. As they were here last weekend I just had to totally strip the bed, sofa covers etc. Even though hubs googled and they cannot survive on bedding, throws etc I just had to hot wash everything. Poor DD said when home tomorrow it means ALL the soft toys they take to bed will have to go in the machine. Hey ho the joys of parenthood......

Libra a couple of times I have come home from Time to Shine with unwanted visitors!!! The sweetener surely is that they only go for clean heads! Having said that I am quietly scratching my head now πŸ€”

I wanted to do a wash yesterday but was working on my report and forgot and I am not doing it today as it is damp and drizzly so won't dry. Hopefully it will be drying weather tomorrow. I half braised two lamb shanks in wine and stock this morning and will finish them off later when we want to eat. They are enormous so I might just take the meat off one and freeze the other. The sauce is rather nice if I say so myself. I think I will do mash and veggies with it. Tommorow is meatballs and tagliatelle so I will make the sauce in the morning in between working on my report. I hope I can get it finished as I am going square eyed with all the research.

Interesting week this week. I have a meeting on Tuesday at London Guildhall to talk about working with some city students and view the interactive London model. Wednesday at Wembley for a regeneration bid meeting (that is what the report is for), Thursday I am supposed to be in Southampton at a meeting but I am going to try and swerve that and do it via telephone. Friday I shall work from home. So that is at least two meetings I need to ditch my jeans/chinos for darn it.

Phew exhausted reading your post ZIZI, where do you get your energy from and please may I have some. The prep of meals, the changing of beds daily, writing reports etc etc. I'm afraid my get up and go, seems to have got up and gone. I am so looking forward to ditching "office clothes" in a few weeks, I never want to see them again. Charity shop here they come along with the sensible shoes to avoid accidents, health and safety don't you know. We are not permitted to wear open toe shoes/sandals at work and I love my mules/flip flops.

I too have had headlice. All my DDS had waist length hair and so did I when they were children. I worked with under 5s too. We were never sure whether my girls caught them at school and passed them to me, or I caught them at work and passed them to them!! I had them twice. With us all having waist length hair it cost a fortune in that lotion. Now it is a lot nicer I gather, but then you left a foul smelling liquid on your hair for hours and hours, before washing it off!

                            Lamb shanks Zizi yummy

Libra when I was first forcibly seconded which was (amazingly) over two years ago I was still by force of habit wearing smart office clothes but I found out quite quickly that in most cases there is no need for stuffy office clothes in the role I was put in. I have given a lot of my good clothes away and tend to wear smart black or blue jeans or chinos with camisole type tops and, if I am going to a half formal meeting, a smart ish jacket. I have several light bright coloured short kimonos and light lacy jackets for the less formal meetings and if I really cannot be bothered I pull a cardi on if it isn't too hot. I just don't like my bingo wings showing. We are also not allowed to wear open toes or sandals but that doesn't bother me as I have a lovely variety of shoes to choose from (as you all know).

I don't feel like I do have a lot of energy if I am honest, I just know that I have to get on with it and so I keep going. I suppose a few years ago I would have done the report in one six/seven hour session but I cannot do that any more, I start getting irritable and need to get up and do something else after an hour or so which is why it is taking me so long. The prep of meals is something that has changed in the last two years. Before the secondment I was out charging around the country all the time so husband would do the meals. Since the secondment I have spent more time working from home and this has continued since returning to the company on a full time basis. This means that I can spend time working on the laptop or whatever I need to do and then swap to doing a bit of cooking, putting washing in the machine, out on the line etc. I can choose for the most part where I am going to be although obviously there are some things I have to do. I do the cooking prep, he does the actual cooking most of the time, but not all, and serving, I am however exceptionally good at opening bottles of wine and even better at opening bottles of fizz as I believe I have demonstrated a few times in Birmingham 🍾🍾🍾

Well your energy levels are far higher than mine still, we have lamb as well today courtesy of my hubby who is chief cook and dishwasher loader today. I'm a dab hand at opening a bottle of amber liquid though it has to be said At the very moment I am have pre dinner Prosecco just to whet the appetite don't you know. I had nits as a child and Gem I remember an awful yellow concoction Mum put on my hair, which wasn't washed off for several hours.I was told I was not to leave the house, whoops could never do as I was told,so got a hiding to go with the shame of nits lol. Nowadays the treatment is gentler and more effective, but apparently the nits build up an immunity to the stuff so it's advised to switch treatments if another family take up residence in your hair. I received a text from a work colleague asking if I would cover a couple of shifts,as another colleague had a nasty accident with a glass and has to have hand surgery in the week. I declined because A) one shift was this coming Tuesday and I have already arranged to have the girls and B) I stressed I do not want extra shifts as I am now on a serious countdown of 8 shifts to go.
