Thanks for finding time to post an image Daisy. You are talented, really lovely. I looked at the wood burning tool & thought I'd burn my fingers because when I hold a pencil I hold it quite far down. With the tool you use it looks as though you need to hold it higher. Less control. Did you have a selection of alphabet fonts to choose from? I like the one you chose. Modern.

Today I'm making a gift for GS to give his teacher when they break up Friday. Transferring his drawing onto fabric & then free stitching over it. Then sometime in the week I'll be making a birth embroidery. I love doing arty things.

Hope you all enjoy whatever you're doing today.💛

Lovely gift tag Daisy! I'd have scorched the wood if I'd tried it.
Got some art work in an exhibition at the end of the week. Have been asked to put prices on them if I want to sell. Have no idea what my work is worth though!
Cloudy day here with some breaks in the sunshine. Washing waiting to go on overnight as we won't get enough electricity out of the solar panels to do a wash for free!
OH gone to hospital for some heart ultrasound thingy.
School this afternoon with my little group of readers. Will miss them when we finish.
        Have a good day everyone!

Daisy that's excellent work. You'd never guess it was your first attempt.

I love crafty things too. At the moment I fancy doing some patchwork as I bought a DK book in The Works on Quilting Patchwork and Applique. It was reduced from £25 to £5 so I had to have it even though I already have books on the subject. I can't resist a bargain! I'm glad I had OH with me when I bought it as it weighs a ton.

Not been very inspired lately, I belong to a group, we have very well known speakers but they nearly all do machine embroidery these days, I like to stitch by hand but have never really been a cross stitcher.

I feel quite the lazy one, I don't do anything like that. I do my daily crossword and jig saw puzzle on line and that is about it from me. I have never been good at sewing, embroidery or making things other than cookery and cakes but I don't want to do that all the time. I am REMARKABLY good at shopping, does that count???

Wee Granny - no, you wouldn't scorch the wood. As the nib burns into the wood smoke comes off it and the natural reaction is to pull your hand away! On the subject of pricing your artwork - don't underprice it. One way is roughly to calculate the number of hours a piece of work has taken you and decide on a rate per hour, plus, if it's framed the cost of the frame. Remember the AfterEight story. When AE mints were first marketed they were sold as an cheap tasty choc under a different name, but they didn't take off at all. A clever marketing person came up with the thought that if you marketed them as a gift one person would give to another plus a clever name which suggested them as a classy after-dinner mint you could double the price. And it worked!!! People value something like artwork as a one-off and something their friends would admire. It's not like buying frozen peas!!! Good luck with the exhibition.

Nana - the 'pen' isn't heavy and if you can hold a paintbrush above the bristles you'd be ok! There are selections of fonts you can trace but I just did that freehand. It wouldn't stand up to close scrutiny.

Thank you for the kind comments everyone.

Good morning from me as well. The sun is actually shining as I type, so fingers crossed it stays that way.

I've got to go for a blood test this morning - our surgery doesn't do them so it's a trip to the local hospital. Then this afternoon it's dog training. The week has gone so quickly and I don't feel I've done much 'homework' with Eva this week!

                            Have a good day everyone.

                              Good morning all.
This morning we are taking my mum to A&E. She has a thumb problem, and the GP we saw (who seemed about 12 LOL) suggested we went there for an Xray! Stupid idea to my mind, and as we were off to Cornwall the next day, mum had to wait until we were back and both OH and I free (Oh to drop us right outside the hospital and come back for us, me to go in with mum)

Collecting GD from school, then we are going to my Danish friends for tea. GD is very excited, as she hasnt seen the 2 little girls for ages. I will drive GD home, as I don't want DD bringing chickenpoxy baby out at bedtime!
