In my thoughts Plant , well the end of a stressful week is nearly over. I volunteered to look after my sisters aged dog while they went on holiday. Her son usually house/dog sits but couldn't this year. It has been a roller coaster, poor Millie is totally out of her comfort zone we have had lots of accidents, not eating well she clearly misses my sister. Millie is almost 16 and has cancer, kidney problems and cataracts. Obviously she under the attention of a vet but there is nothing they can do for her, think this week has been traumatic for her. She paces back and forth or sleeps for England, will be glad when I hand her back tomorrow. We have been terrified she would pass away in our care, but those eyes tell me it's time to go over the bridge in my opinion. Please god let her make it until her family is home. Shiloh has been unsettled by her presence as well so 2 unhappy dogs.

I expect it was be a relief for you and the dog when he goes home Libra. It is a worry looking after older pets that they may pass away when the owners are on holiday. Hopefully it won't happen, as you are almost on the home stretch!

Thanks for your kind thoughts, the funeral was the first one of the day. Sat right at the back with friends we used to swim with. It was hard to hold it together, children and grandchildren spoke and they had a large picture of her and OH. The flowers we're amazing and lots of donation for liver research. We went back to her DD's house which is massive. It is strange on these occasions you see people you haven't seen for a time. The weather was glorious the problem was she wasn't there.

Libra, we have a similar problem, the family have a 16 year old retriever and it is clear that she has had enough so I think tomorrow she will be going over the bridge. Very upsetting, she has been a wonderful family pet.

Libra -your doggy visitor will be glad to get home. I expect the hot weather hasn't helped her either. Poor Shiloh must be confused by her presence and will be glad to have you to himself again.You feel awful when there is nothing you can do to comfort or soothe.

I havnt been well this last few days hope I am not going backwards I am so tired. I know it's been warm but I have been like this for a few mths, and my feet and ankles are really puffy again I know the weather doesn't help but I have been suffering for a few mths might go see the doc next week, enjoy your weekend ladies

Morning ladies having Utility done today so will be lots of mess and noise kitchen a tip Washer,Tumble, Microwave etc all crammed in there I have tried to keep it all in one area but Brian keeps moving stuff , warm and stuffy , have a good day ladies xxx

LG - Dogs are amazing, and when her Mum comes back I'm sure she will pick up again. As you know we had extensive discussions with the vet about when the time was right for Clyde. It's so difficult and the only thing I'd say is that once the decision is taken it happens quickly so the dog doesn't pick up on his humans' distress.

Qwerty - I'm sure in your heart of hearts you know you're doing too much. Please, please go to the doctors this week and see what he says. Your health is a priority, both for you and your family.
