Went to see stage version of the Sound of Music yesterday, It was a wonderful production I think it is travelling around after a London production. Go and see it if it comes your way folks, that is if you are a fan.

I'm a bit late logging on today so I hope by now poorly people have seen some improvement.

Oma I'm so pleased Brian got good news at the hospital. i bet you were on pins until he got back to tell you'.Though you are feeling a bit better please don't try to do too much until you feel a lot stronger.

Qwerty that's such bad luck about the infection.no wonder you're fed up.

All best wishes to your friend Nanto. It's a frightening diagnosis but as others have said treatment is improving all the time. I know at least two people who have come through it and are fine now.

Sorry to hear about all the illnesses on here. I hope everyone feels better soon.

Just finished watching the film "Woman in Gold". OH recorded it for me. It has Helen Mirren in it & its about an Austrian-Jewish refugee reclaiming a Gustav Klimt's portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer which was stolen from her family by the Nazis. I thought it was well worth a watch. Good actors & although the storyline was a little upsetting at times, I enjoyed it. As you know my passion is art, so to learn the history of this painting was time well spent.

Well I made a right t/t of myself today. I was sitting at the table in the sitting room where I work (upstairs maisonette) and glanced out of the window to see flames coming from the back of the pink playhouse in the garden three doors down. I called the fire brigade, two fire engines, police etc. turned up and (red face) it was a fire set in a brazier about two feet from the back of the playhouse. Fortunately the fire brigade people and police were very good and said I had done the right thing. They told the neighbours off though because the brazier was too close to the playhouse and the trees and the flames were very high. I do not think I am popular with the neighbours........

Aww Zizi. I'm sure they understood your actions were well intentioned. Were there any good looking firemen? The lengths some women go to eh?

. Oh Zizi it's not funny, and you did the right thing by reporting the fire, but I did have to laugh when I read what happened!

I feel like Oma today - well I mean Oma when she's not poorly, I have been to so many shops!!
We went to Aldi, then to Sainsburys for lunch in the cafe, then to Monsoon, Hobby craft , Poundland, Asda and John Lewis. We had coffee in the Hotel Chocolat cafe in John Lewis, then back in the car and over to Currys. We are back now, have put all the shopping away and now I'm far too tired to sort out the spare room for GS. It will have to wait until morning!

ZIZI, you did the right thing, can't be too careful where fire is concerned.
Gemini, you certainly hit the shops today.
Gemini,Daisy and Clover, I will pass on the good wishes to our friend.Thank you so much.

Zizi - if your neighbours are cross with you, just think how much crosser they could have been if the situation had been different (ie more dangerous) and you hadn't called out those lovely firemen.

Gem - you've certainly done your fair share of shopping today. I only managed Sainsbury's, EWM and the garden centre. OH going to B&Q doesn't count as shopping!!!

Nanto - do let us know how your friend is from time to time. xx

Good morning, Nanto and thank you. I think we all find our thoughts turning to friends of our GRU friends when they have problems.

Good morning everyone! We look set to enjoy another day of dismal, dull, dreary wet weather! Our lawn is under water again and even Eva doesn't want to go outside.

Morning ladies feeling almost normal today 😊 We have hailstones then rain it dull cold and dreary . Brian has gone with our SIL and his van to pick his brother up then to brothers marital home to collect his belongings and bits of furniture he's taking after the sad break up of his marriage Brian can't carry anything but he's going to keep the peace in case it kicks off , most of it going in our spare room so bed etc had to be moved and rest in his mams spare room till he gets the keys to his new home . We feel sad but he feels relieved it's all over 😟

                              Morning everyone

Oma, it's very sad when any marriage breaks up, but sometimes it's the only way to go. I hope B doesn't overdo things. And you, take it easy until you are fully recovered!

It rained a lot overnight. I expect our lawn is boggy like Daisy's.
GS is coming this afternoon, for an overnight stay. I will probably need wine when he's gone to bed

Today, at last, a tenant moves into the house we bought with a friend, to rent out
