In the summer of 75 which was ever so very hot I took baby D to the pub by the river to get cool breezes and rock him to sleep (I was way too broke to even order a coke). The pub was next to Teddington Studios. A charming older man started to chat to me and I realised it was the gorgeous David Niven. I had always loved his films. He asked me about myself and about Duncan and we had a fine old chat, he bought me a glass of wine and when baby finally dropped off he gave me £10 to buy something for the baby. That was a lot of money back then. I tried to refuse and he said "I have had a lovely chat with someone who does not want anything from me other than my company and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself". He was so nice.

Misty here, although I hope the sun is on its way! I have to take mum for a routine blood test this morning, reflexology this afternoon, then friends coming round for a takeaway and games evening. Fun, but it does necessitate some of that housework stuff with 5 guests coming round!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Lovely here too but my washing machine doesn't want to work. I hope it isn't anything serious because I don't want to spend a lot of money on it if we are having a new kitchen in the new year. I wanted to get the last bits out of the way while the weather is still good.
Oma that is a good sign that Brian is off out with his camera, good for him to get some fresh air as well.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Lovely warm Autumn day here, only just come in from sunroom. I have had a very busy day, decorator in bathroom and kitchen, SR full of bits and bobs so couldn't do any jobs myself. Went to JL to find a new shade for the bathroom and then posted parcels, finished up shopping in Waitrose. I was so tired I had to sit down before I fell down. Now looking forward to a G&T, sun nearly over the yardarm. Very pleased with the decs. he will be finished tomorrow, only needs a couple of hours, then at least I will not have to get up at the crack of dawn. I definitely fulfilled my membership to the sluts club, when the bathroom cabinet was taken off the wall the dust was at least an inch thick, well I cant reach the top and I must not climb up in case I fall. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
