I cannot stand the apprentice. Part of it is to do with Alan Sugar. Years ago I ran a personal development course for disaffected white school girls. I know that sounds racist but the school actually told me that in the area where they lived (Brentford) there was provision for BME girls but nothing for white girls and the school felt they had a group who got no support from home but could ultimately do well in the work place if they had support. I wrote to several people asking them to either come and give a ten minute pep talk or send a message to these girls. One of them was Alan Sugar who had then not long been made a Sir. Another was Willie Walsh CEO British Airways. The letter I got back from Sugar was from his PA. First I was reminded that he was a "Sir" and he should be addressed as such, the letter went on to say that Sir Alan was far too busy to spend his time going in to schools, he had more important things to do. The PA had the time to write the letter so why did she not put a note in for the girls? Willie Walsh on the other hand telephoned me. I was in the middle of two hundred kids at IBM at Heathrow and thought husband had got someone to phone me so when he said who he was I said "yeah right" he gave me a number to call back as "I can hear you are busy". When I got home I asked husband who he had got to phone me, he said no-one, oops! Willie Walsh came to the school and spent almost an hour talking to the girls. Funny that nobody in my company was bothered about my programme until word got out that he was turning up and then everyone wanted to be there. I didn't let anyone come along, they weren't interested before so why should I let them? For the record he was absolutely charming, very relaxed and a very good raconteur.

Today is my GDs 6th birthday! My mum and I are going round for a birthday tea and to see her open her presents after school. Her party and a family restaurant meal are on Saturday, so an exciting week for her!
Before that OH and I have to take our long haired cat to the vets for some mattted fur to be treated. I try but suffer bites and scratches. Shes a sweet docile puss, but not when it comes to this!

One semi shaved knot free cat safely home They didn't have to sedate her and she was sweet and well behaved! However once home, when her sister tried to sniff her, due to the unfamiliar vet smell, she hissed and clawed her. Naughty girl!

It was ladies ☺ We sat at the next table to Wayne Sleep in a Chinese next to our theatre he was playing the child catcher in Chitty bang bang . What a horrible man he was very rude to the waiting on staff clicking his fingers and demanding stuff , he was with I assume his manager they ordered a bottle of wine he was leaving to go on stage and he picked the bottle up there was maybe two glasses left and said to his manger bring this to my room I know how much is left don't leave it for these people to sell on and make a profit , This was in full hearing of the staff his manager was very embarrassed and apologised for his behaviour when he left .
