Good morning, ladies. The sun's shining and promising us a lovely day. I am going to tackle the greenhouse beds this morning, so I can get some tomatoes in there, and then onto the border in the garden which is full of buttercup and other weeds. I think we should all go to Nanto's for dinner - that slow cooker meal sounds delicious.

Good morning everyone. Dull here and wet from overnight rain. We had lots of rain yesterday.
Usual Thursday routine with my mum today.
DD3s car is dead! It gave up on her in Birmingham where she was on a business trip. She had it towed back, and the short story is, it would cost more to repair than it's worth.
So, it's cycling to work for her (which equals huge worrying for me)until they get new one. This was DDs car, as her OH hadn't passed his driving test at that point. Now they plan to buy one together, which means they can afford a better one. As she travels for business and leisure not just locally, she needs a safe efficient car. I hope they get one soon.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Aggie - sometimes some people are better ignored. Big hug and I hope you're able to put whatever she said behind you. Btw - can we all come for pudding today? Nanto is doing a delicious casserole, so hers first and then yours.
Oma - hope all goes well. My DS2's FIL has to go for a CT scan today and he's really worried. DS is taking him - he can cheer his FIL up when nobody else can. Ouch - the garden makeover sounds like a messy job. We had out front garden done in January, but at least we didn't have to take things through the house. It will be worth it for your DD in the end - providing their doggy doesn't eat the astroturf!
Gem - we can't help worrying about our children, no matter how old they are. I hope they find another car quickly and in the meantime she cycles safely. At least it's light now, she hasn't got to be on the roads in the dark.
Just stopped gardening to get some lunch. I haven't even started on the greehnouse yet, but the canna lilies and a beautiful variegated fuchsia have been tidied up and top dressed."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Good morning everyone.
Today we are going to the launderette. We need to wash a duvet. A cat was sick on it, and it won't fit into our washing machine. OH is excited by this This is because she didnt have student life, or living in a caravan with a small baby life. Laundrettes were hardly glamorous or fun. It is so many years since I have been to one, I suppose it may be fun today!
We need to buy play sand and printer cartridges today too. Friends who are home from holiday have invited us to eat with them tonight, always a good thing.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning. Gem - what an exciting day, a trip to the launderette. I've only used one when we had the caravan in Anglesey and it saved having to wash by hand! I'm sure they are more sophisticated than they were then, in the 70s!
OH is off to the dentist then carrying on with decorating the living room, and I am gardening. I'll have to go out and get some more blood, fish and bone and a couple more plants for pots.
Have a good day everyone."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Oma - you definitely deserve your 'day off' today, although I have the feeling that having doggo at yours isn't exactly restful.
Oh your poor DD coping with all that and 4 huge paws! I hope it's not raining up there!
Jasper is quite a character, and obviously knows a good home when he needs one.
I went to the garden centre this morning and was very good - only two trays of bedding plants, a well-grown white Cosmos and some herbs, plus the boring stuff - blood fish and bone and 6 ' canes. I'm always optimistic my tomatoes will need them that long to support the tons of trusses of tomatoes they will carry! LOL I struggled out of the car with it all, only to find a huge delivery vehicle blocking me in. Fortunately there was a space to one side of me and I managed to wriggle the car out - I don't like giving up!

Well wriggled Daisy !
Apart from going to the doctors this morning I've been taking it easy.
We are having leftover pie for tea tonight so only a few veg to do.
This afternoon we had an unexpected power cut. Apparently our neighbours two doors down were notified in advance but our immediate neighbours and we weren't.We've had trouble before resetting things. The clock on the microwave refused at first to be reset and I had to climb up to a little used cupboard to fish out the instructions for resetting the cooker clock as for the life of me I can never remember the simple procedure. Then my tablet refused to re-connect to the Internet though the laptop did. I had to completely turn it off for about 5 minutes before it would cooperate.I feel quite exhausted!!!
