Oma so sorry to hear about your friend, what a brave lady to refuse treatment. Well an interesting morning, took the mutt up to the nature reserve there are 2 streams one shallow, one deep. The big woos is scared to dip his paw in the deep one but looks longingly at it. So I led him in with his lead attached, so far so good he enjoyed a swim then the blasted lead got slipped off his neck . On the 2nd lap I carried a big branch with the intention of trying to reach and retrieve the lead.Well that plan didn't work so it was off with trainers and socks and in I waded to my calves to get the lead, the water was clear but freezing. To add insult to injury Shiloh ran off with a sock lol. Anyway got my footwear back on and headed home, was a struggle getting out of that stream I can tell you. Thank you Nanto - I hope your Monday is a good one as well. It's more like November here - dark, wet and dismal!
Oma - your friend Josie was a very brave lady, and she must have fought so hard. Big hug - you will miss her. xxx
Gem - I hope things have been patched up with your Mum! Never easy when you know you are not the 'difficult' one.
LG - I laughed out loud at the picture you've painted - especially Shiloh running off with your sock. That pup certainly knows how to add insult to injury! I took Eva in the river on Saturday, mainly to wash mud off her, but as she's still on the lead I had to go in as well. She loved it and enjoyed splashing about. It had wellies on and OH standing on the bank to take the lead and also help me out! So at least I stayed dry.
The new term starts here today. Last night DG1 was tearful and worried about going back. She adores school and I'm sure she will be fine once she's there, but it must have looked quite daunting to her yesterday.

Good morning everyone.
A nice spring day here, sunny with a breeze. OH is golfing, and I am ironing, and generally having a day to myself. I have tried to keep days free in case DD needed help with the baby, or looking after GD, but she seems to be coping fine
So sorry about your friend Oma xxxx
Aww, I'm sure your GD will settle back fine once she is at school Daisy. Mine goes back tomorrow. One of her friends mum has taken her out for a fun day with them today. DD plans some mummy and baby time, as SIL is planning to go into work.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem - yes, GD1 was fine. she had a wonderful day catching up with friends she hadn't seen during the holidays, plus, of course the ones she had seen.
It was pouring with rain here all morning. GD2's playgroup get them outside as much as possible and today was no exception. The rain eased off very slightly for the last half hour or so, so out they went. One of the bark-covered paths had flooded, so the staff put out huge pieces of a white plastic-y paper, got brushes, mops, paint brushes etc and big squirts of paint. The little ones loved the huge water pot/path, and mixing all the colours up, splashing each other and having a whale of a time. GD2 didn't want to leave! One of the staff helped her make a smaller picture so I could get it in the car, but you can imagine the state she was in - mud and paint everywhere. It's such wonderful little playgroup."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
