What ever next for that lovely husband of your Oma.

Waiting for that baby, I think it was waiting for April to arrive.

Aggie it is very hard for you caring for Jim, hope the curtains give you a bit longer in bed. Look after yourself as well.

Afternoon. Nan2 the eye test was ok thanks. I'm a Yorkie & we're 'tuff uns'. I just look at it & think I'm a step closer to getting my vision sorted. Aggie, I'm really sorry to hear that Jim isn't so well. You must be feeling really exhausted. My love is sent your way. Daisy is that really Eva or a joke type pic? Either way what a cutie. Oma, my love goes your way too. By the sound of it your bloke needs to be kinder to himself & allow him to be an old codger if only til that wretched shingles goes.

Aggie - my sincere apologies. It looks as though I ignored your post yesterday. You must have posted while I was typing and I didn't see your post about Jim and how much he had deteriorated. It's very hard caring for someone 24/7 without being disturbed in the night and not getting the rest you need. I do hope the blackout curtains help, but if they don't do mention it to his Consultant, because you need your sleep to keep your strength up. Thank goodness your DD1 is around to give you some help and support as well as the 'official' carers.

Gem - I agree that April is a nicer month for a birthday than March - May is even better but I don't we can't ask your DD to wait that long, can we!!!

Oma - I hope Brian's shingles clear up in double quick time, then so he can get his scan. Doddery old man? You're living dangerous, Oma. Just wait till he's better - eh'll be chasing you round that shower seat. Seriously I hope things are a bit easier for him today, and you aren't ok too. Big hug. xxx

Nana - I hope the light at the end of the tunnel is actual and well as metaphorical. Glad the procedure wasn't as bed as we'd feared.

We're home and all shopped out! No energy left to do the art galley justice, so we will do that another day.

I got a grey wool buttonless winter coat for £10 from BHS - had been £65!

We bought a cooked chicken, so tea is easy tonight, just baked potatoes to go in and a salad to make.

Nice easy meal Gem , what a bargain with your coat lucky girl , our friends visited this afternoon (SIL, s parents) she brought a lovely home made Victoria sponge we all had a slice with a cup of tea and she left the rest so we will have another little piece later 😊
put some Braising steak in the oven with onions and sliced potatoes in gravy to slow cook a one pot meal it's smelling and looking tasty , I'm not a red meat eater but I do like it done like this

Wow what a bargainGem. All the nicer to just come across it.

Oma there's nothing like a home made Victoria sponge. I hope your friends were a tonic for your poor old man!( Only joking Brian!)

Aggie I'm glad Jim is home again but realise what a lot of pressure it puts on you. Disturbed sleep is very wearing. Try to rest whenever you can, easier said than done I know.Sending hugs.

Checking in to see if there was any baby news.
Oma, Victoria sponge and tea sounds scrummy.
Aggie, hope you catch up on some sleep.
That was a real bargain with the coat Gem.

Aggie I can quite understand your struggle, when OHs/parents cannot longer walk or even transfer from bed to toilet etc you have got a real problem on your hands. This is what we had with MIL when she first came out of hospital luckily she made a truly miraculous recovery, otherwise I don't know how we could have coped long term, as only OH could just about move her on the transfer aid, and not without straining his back. A lot of these aids are made for hospitals and not for small carpeted semi-detached. I reported all this to the OT hoping it would give them some useful feedback. As others have said you must also look after yourself.

                      Good morning.
Rain here too Nan2. According to the forecast it should be drying up where we are going by the time we get there.
Going for GD soon, no word of baby arriving!

Good morning. Plant - same here a lovely sunny day, but I've got to get everything ready for both GSs arriving tomorrow for a few days. It's lovely to have them, but I know from experience that if all the domestic things aren't running smoothly it get very hectic, especially on the days when we've got the GDs as well.
