Hope Gem and OH have a good day in London.

Good luck for Brian, hope the chemo goes ahead.

It doesn't feel like a Monday to me, feels more like Wednesdayish.

Hope Brian's hospital visit goes well Oma.

Very mild here today, have all the doors and windows open . Had a wander round the garden and luckily spotted a large 'present' our resident fox had left for us. Managed to get rid of it before Dexter (DD's springer) comes over this afternoon. He just loves rolling in anything smelly

Oh dear Oma. Sending love as always. xx

Well I was in Whitechapel today, less said the better. Husband was working as well. I called him at 2pm to tell him I was nearly home and thought he sounded odd. When I got home I found out why. We had scaffolding put up on Saturday in readiness for the windows being replaced on Thursday. He was out from 4.45 am and I was out from 9,45 am and someone had tried to force the bedroom window after I had gone out. It now will not lock, thank goodness he/she didn't get in! We called a glazing company but with emergency call out and replacing the window it would be £390 so we have decided not to leave the flat unattended at all during the day or night. It does not seem sensible to spend nearly four hundred quid for a brand new window when we have all of them being replaced in a couple of days. So annoying and the police didn't even try to hide their total and utter disinterest.

Feeling a bit annoyed but I suppose, given that my day was going to start at 5am tomorrow, I should be grateful for small mercies................

Oh Zizi very wise not to leave it unattended, when we had our Solar panels put on roof they came on the Friday and wanted to leave the scaffolding up till they collected it on the following Monday , I wasn't having that and said no , it was only 3 pm when they finished and only took about 40 mins to take down again , they wanted to finish early , they didn't like it but I stood my ground it would have meant I couldn't leave the house all weekend ,

Oh Zizi that's awful about your attempted break in.A sad reflection on some of today's society. We've all heard stories of how in the past people left doors unlocked and unattended quite safely. What would those folk think if they knew what goes on today?
Qwerty you're certainly a busy bee these days but how lovely to have that half-term trip to look forward to. I hope the Botox goes okay this week.
Oma I'm sorry Brian's treatment has had to be postponed but am glad he's feeling better from the cold but these coughs do have the nasty habit of not letting go

I didn't want them to put the scaffolding up so early but in truth the airport company is paying for it so we have to go with what they want. Considering the whole flat is going to be triple glazed with air conditioning units in bedrooms and sitting room, upvc window sills, loft insulation, new front door for £1600 including VAT, delivery etc. I think we have to roll over a bit. Thing is we have such a lot of nickable, easy movable, stuff here that it worries me. We have two iPads, two TVs, four laptops, lots of jewellery and of course the irreplaceable Olympic torch. I am really quite upset and disappointed with the attitude of the police. OK I know they probably wouldn't be able to find who actually tried to get in but it was all but "so? What do you want us to do about it?". Luckily we are not vulnerable older people and can cope with the situation, even luckier that we are able to sort things out so we can be here to ensure the safety of our property.

Oma - sorry to hear Brian's chemo has been put back - but he WILL get there. Big hug. xx

Qwerty - I bet you'll have a great time with GD during the Spring half term break. I hope the Botox goes ahead ok this week - get it over and done with for a while.

Zizi - there are some low-life slime balls about! I'm glad they weren't successful L-LSBs! Very wise to stay home and keep and eye on things.
