Dry but some watery looking clouds about.

Not going out, hubby wants to get some jobs done outside.

Dinner will be chicken tikka for hubby, cheese omelette for me.

      Good morning everyone.

I hope Storm enjoyed being the birthday boy Oma.

Speaking of omelettes Nan2 I had a very nice one yesterday! There is an omelette station at the breakfast buffet where a man will make your omelette with whatever fillings you want. He's very quick he seems to be able to cook on 4 different small omelette pans at the same time.

I won't mention our weather to depress you all!

Hallo everyone, we did manage to have a good day, it poured down as we left the metro in Rotterdam, it was a 15 minute walk to the salon, so, it was puddle dodging all the way.

The nails are a huge succes, they both love them. Both the girls have amazing long eye lashes, they had as babies, DIL has the same, anyway the lady doing the nails told them that the next time they had a lash extensions?? the salon did that as well, she was amazed when they both said that they are their own lashes.

As the nails took quite a while we set off for home, DS1 messaged to ask what time we would be back as they were going to the North Sea Jazz festival, they were leaving at 4pm, when we arrived home we were having to go and pick the iPad up as it wasn't working quite like it should with the new screen, GD1 came up with the very good idea of getting out of the metro in their village on our way home, she would walk home and be in time for the key etc. She did that so I went with GD2 to pick the iPad up, the man thought it could be the new screen, but, he removed the screen and realised there was a very slight gap as he had fitted it, he closed it and it all works fine, only, he hasn't placed the protector screen as he wants to see how it works, he said to GD2 'whatever happens, if the screen breaks or whatever, it is up to me to replace it"! Which I thought was very good of him, now she has to wait and if it all works well he will fit the screen protector. She had problems with the sound of her iPhone, I said we would ask today, 'no nan, I can live with it, it will be just more expense". I asked him to have a look, he asked her if it had been wet, she said yes, he got a tool, scraped round a bit, then a wire brush, lo and behold the sound returned! GD2 was delighted, she told me in the car what she had done, dropped soft ice cream on it!

All being well I can relax now! They go to the UK next week, the south coast, up to Weymouth I think.

            Morning everyone

            Lizzie
These grand children cost us a fortune but we wouldn’t do any other would we ,
Its a pleasure to get them things and as I see it it takes some of the expense off their parents too.

            Nanto
We had Tikka the other night but I’m a lover of curry , not so much cheese omelette, Hope you enjoy it 😁

            Gem
You enjoy that sun it’s cold here xxx

Did housework then went to see to cats and fish came back then took Storm for a walk and the heavens opened ,
We we’re soaked but Storm was enjoying the walk and I couldn’t get any wetter so we carried on.

im dry and warm again , Storms asleep, having 5 minutes on here then I will see to the bedding in the wash , it will have to go in the tumble .

I need to clean my kitchen cupboard doors but I’m not sure I have the energy yet 😳😁

Oma, you would get wet! It is the same here at the moment, dry and then it comes!

I can only say I am pleased I just have the 2 grandchildren, I couldn't spoil 8 of them in the same way!

I have just hoovered through, I want to do the floors but will do the leather chairs first, not much else I can do until it stops raining.

I want to sew a denim skirt, just washed the material so it has to dry before I can get it cut out.

Oma, getting that wet is not advisable when you are getting over a virus.

Lizzie, what a lovely generous GM you are, your GD’s are very lucky girls. I hope they have a lovely holiday.

Gemini, freshly cooked omelette sounds lovely for breakfast. I envy you your dips in the pool.

Nanto, I thought you liked cooking. I like chicken Tikka.

Good Saturday morning, everyone. It's dry but chilly here. When will we get some decent summer weather! I'm still mostly wearing winter clothes.

We had an early start with Sainsburys delivery. I need to get some washing in but wanted to say 'hello' first, and need to do some dusting. Have a good week-end everyone.

I love reading all your posts. I'm not able to reply to all of them every day, but please keep them coming. xx

Daisy, you are doing amazingly in being here and posting at all. Please don't ever feel you should do more than you have time for or feel comfortable doing xx

Lizzie, we just do what you can for how many GC we have I think. I always say if GD had remained my only GC I would be buying her everything! I buy them things, treat them to days out and give them pocket money from age 7, but as I have 4, it's not what it would be with 1 or 2.

Oma, I hope you have no ill effects from the soaking!

No omelette today Plant as the queue was too long! I think it's because we were a bit later down to breakfast.

We have been to the beach and swim in the sea this morning
There is a private bit of beach belonging to the hotel but we thought the only way down to it was via an awful lot of steps, which neither of us could manage, especially in this heat. However I made enquiries this morning and was told about the lift in the other part of the building which takes you right down to beach level!

Gem, I'm trying to do things that I enjoy, which includes chatting on here, but I'm snatching odd minutes when nothing else is going on. The 'mountain' I was frustrated about today was trying to book hotel rooms for us and DS2 and family for the funeral. We want to go up there the day before and come home the day afterwards then we don't have to worry about travelling on the day.

I don't know why it seemed so hard, except that the phone kept ringing and I'm still tired.

                              Good morning.

Oma, it must be tiring for Storm now he's 9.

It's dry at the moment, but it seems to be coming dark.

Daisy, did you get accommodation sorted. I hope so, one thing less for you to worry about.

Hubby went out earlier to pick his brother up, they have gone to a car boot sale.

No other plans for us today.

Braising steak and onions in the slow cooker. Will have with mash, broccoli and carrots.

Good Sunday morning, everyone. The sun is shining just now, although there are fearsome-looking clouds rolling in.

Nanto, oh dear, another car boot sale. Still your OH and his brother enjoy going, don't they and you never know what treasures they might come home with.

Yes, we did get the hotel booked ok in the end, thank you. I don't know why it was so difficult!

Oma, it's heartwarming to see the donations growing on Just Giving. How funny Storm murdering his toys last night - Eva did the same. She spent ages trying to get one toy out of the bottom of the toy box and I'd just commented that she needed to take the big toys off the top when she dragged the box onto the hearth and upended it and gave it a good shaking. She did make us laugh.

A friend is coming round for a coffee this morning, and neighbours are coming in to watch some football match or other with OH tonight. ( ). I'll do a few nibbles.

Otherwise I think I'll try and get some gardening done.

                                Have a good day, everyone.
