When we have colds we always feel better outside.

The weather has been lovely. just over an hour ago,we were sat in the warm sunshine with tea and eccles cakes.

Lovely and sunny here in Scarborough I am sitting looking over the bay looking at boats coming in and out.

We will be getting ready to go out soon. I don't think it's too far to walk.

Very disappointing boat race results for me, I have always supported Oxford.

Daisy, the due date for the arrival of baby was yesterday, no news today. Both GM’s are on standby.

Sky got in touch and offered us a new sky box, well this turned out to be something not much bigger than the palm of my hand. It took a bit of Sil’s time to install it, I just hope I can use it okay, so far so good. Only downside is that the aerials will have to stay on the roof, they don’t remove them and also a lot of wiring behind the television. It is cheaper (not much) than our old Sky box membership. Lovely sunny day, I have been in the sunroom.

Gemini, I must see about a new bell, mine is erratic. Have a lovely time with friends. I wouldn’t be ecstatic about a visit to a casino. Daisy seems to have a lot of knowledge about what to play mmmmm.

Don’t forget the clocks Spring forward tonight.

Gemini, our posts crossed. I do envy you that lovely view of the sea. It takes us over 2 hours to get to the coast and that is one without views and a pebble one. I am longing to get to Cornwall.

Plant, sorry the boat race result was a disappointment for you. Did you enjoy relaxing in your new sun room today? After my dire forecast of rain this morning, we've actually had a sunny day. A bit of a chilly wind, but ok for gardening. I've been to a few casinos, but I'm a reckless gambler, so OH is always worried I'll put a crazy bet on and end up with no roof over our heads! I'm sure Gem won't do that.

Have you got a Cornish holiday booked for this year?

It's nail-biting waiting for a baby to arrive, isn't it.

Gem, how lovely that the sun's come out for you. Enjoy all that bracing fresh air.

Nanto, I was tempted to take lunch outside, but it was just a bit too windy. I love eccles cakes, but haven't bought any for a few weeks.

Just got back from walking Eva - she's coming out with us tonight so I thought a walk might calm her down a bit - she gets very excited and loves our neighbours' dog.

                Morning all.

Yesterday I felt 'out of sorts ' for most of the day, throat hurt but that's to be expected I suppose. I was thankful to have calm DD with me when all the kerfuffle was going on.

It was lovely to have a dry and fairly sunny day yesterday , hopefully we will have a few more days like that from now on.

We aren't doing anything much today, no Easter egg hunt or Easter lunch for us. I really miss having excited children running around the garden looking for Easter eggs and then a family get together at lunch time with roast lamb for all the trimmings.

Plant we have got one of the original Sky Q boxes did you used to have that sort ? I wonder if we will be offered a new , smaller box in the future
Last year we paid to have the TV aerial removed from our roof, it cost about £60 if I remember correctly. The main reason for having it removed was because pigeons used to sit on it and our doorstep would be covered with bird droppings every day.

Yesterday I brought online a new Kingsize duvet and a two sets of new duvet covers.
OH wants to buy a new mattress in the next few weeks. Our current mattress is over 10 years old now and it's becoming uncomfortable. We are going to go Benson for Beds as the shop isn't far from us . I must look on website to see if they take away the old mattress at the point of delivery of a new one
Our local council provide a large household removel service but the removal date won't necessarily be convenient. We don't have any room to put the old mattress whilst waiting for collection.
Last time we used this council service it cost about £35 , its bound to have increased now I would think

Have a lovely Easter day everyone and don't eat too many chocolate eggs
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning, happy easter and happy British summer time.

No plans for us, not expecting any visitors.

I'm not doing a big Sunday dinner, pork chops, roast potatoes and veg.

Mimi, I'm not surprised your throat is sore.

                  Gem, enjoy easter in Scarborough.

                    Good Easter Day morning, everyone.

Nanto, a quiet day sounds very appealing. Enjoy yourself.

Mimi, I hope your throat feels better as the day wears on. I'm the same, I miss the excitement of the children, decorating the house for Easter and having a huge lamb roast for Sunday dinner.

After one sunny day we're back to dreary drizzle! We're going up to spend the day for DS1 and family, and I'm hoping the weather will put some of the day trippers off - although usually we're going against the traffic.

We got a new mattress about a year ago, and OH liked it but I found it a bit hard, so we got a mattress topper and it's very comfortable now. I think the company we bought the new mattress from took the old one away.

Whatever you're all doing today, have a joyful and happy Easter Day.

                      Good Easter Sunday morning Everyone,
The sun is out but it’s cold.
Did you all remember your clocks?

                      Mimi
I bet your throat is very sore today, maybe ice cream will help , even if it doesn’t it’s a good excuse to eat it 😁
We miss the Easter hunt , we don’t bother with the dinner now .

We bought a Premier inn mattress a few years ago direct from premier inn ,
It wasnt as comfy as in the premier in itself , so when we were next it here I had a look at their mattresses and they have a 4 inch topper on that’s why they more comfortable,

So we bought. 4 inch memory foam topper and it’s lovely now.

                      Gem
Hope the weather is good and your enjoying yourself,

                      Plant
Things are getting smaller now arnt they,
I remember our first sky box many years ago was huge
Shame you didn’t enjoy the boat race xx

                      Daisy
Your spare bed mattress as I recal was very comfortable we slept well on it😁
Was Eva good last night at your friends?

                      Nanto
You should never say your not expecting visitors because you just know they will come 😁

Just pottered around this morning ,
I cut Bs hair well buzz cut it with the clippers before he had a shower,
Did some washing , it’s all dry ready to iron

The sun is coming out so hopefully it stays,
We had a heavy rain fall for a good couple of hours last night surprise surprise 🙄.

Forgot to say my SILs sister became a grandmother yesterday , a little girl called Pearl , I’ve seen a photo she’s like a little doll so pretty😁

Good morning, have a nice day Daisy, I hope it isn't too busy on the roads, I am going to DS1 for a meal, I don't know yet if it is today or tomorrow!

I had a surprise visitor yesterday afternoon, GD2 came, she helped me sort the board games etc out then had her tea here before going home.

The weather is still dull, we had rain most of the day yesterday.

                            Good morning everyone.

Lizzie, always lovely to see GC

Lovely to hear about a new baby Oma.

Nan2, I am quite envious of your dinner. Apparently we are having tagliatelle carbonara. I do like it, but not as much as chops or a roast!

Mimi I hope your throat isn't too sore. Mattresses are so heavy and awkward to get rid of.

Have a lovely family day Daisy.

OH enjoyed the casino very much. We left with £175 from £10 of chips! Mostly OH and one of our friends, all on the roulette wheel. Fortunately we have no casino in York .

Sitting in the same living room I sat in yesterday watching the boats on the bay, all I can see this morning is fog. The fog horn keeps sounding I have never heard one before .
I think a walk is planned later but I won't be going as we are high up here and there is a lot of up and down. I overdid it a bit yesterday.
Mutual friends are coming here for a meal tonight.

Mimi, I hope your sore throat heals soon. How is the brown water?

Gemini, well at least you and your friends came away with a profit.

I could do with a smaller mattress now but I must have drawers. I have seen most of the family today, GS3 (the one you met)came this morning to see me before he went back to London. GS1 his pregnant wife and 2 children came to lunch together with GD1 her OH and H and GS2, and his wife. They are watching the new Willy Wonka Film. No sign of the new baby.

Daisy, I hope the roads were not too busy for your trip to GS1 and family.

We're back home after a lovely day with DS1 and family. Their garden is looking very pretty with lots of spring-flowering shrubs and perennials. DIL and I sat outside for a while and then it got chilly. The roads were quieter than we expected, but we had a few drops of rain on the way back!

Oma, how lovely to have a new baby in the family. Pearl is a pretty name, and you don't often hear it these days. Is B's cold better? Yes, Eva was very good at our neighbours. She loves going there! She's fast asleep now though after another busy day today at DS1's.

Gem, what a pity the good weather didn't stay with you. Fog horns sound so bleak and eerie, don't they! They always make me think of the opening scenes of Great Expectations. Your group did very well at the Casino, especially S! She might just want to go again. .

Lizzie, what a lovely surprise to see GD2. Your girls love being with you. Enjoy your meal with the family.

Plant, another busy family day for you. I hope the baby won't keep you waiting much longer.
