image.png Daisy, I only know it is from India, hand carved. I will ask DS1 how old he thinks it is, when he sees it up here as he doesn't know about it yet! This is one very similiar

Its been a day of sun and showers. Nice in the sun,but cool when the rain comes.

      Gem, family lunch sounds lovely.

Plant, shame about the house.Hope they find another one soon, that they like.

I have just read your post Plant, it is a lovely cupboard, too nice to be stood in my shed!

What a shame about the house not going through for your GD.

Mimi, I missed your post as well, I wouldn't miss my morning tea but I would the coffee! I hope that they have got it all sorted now and you can look forward to your morning cup of tea.

Lizzie, your cupboard looks very expensive. It would be interesting to know more about it.

I did a bit of painting this afternoon and then took Eva out, but we've had rain, some sunshine and a lot of windy weather.

Lizzie, like you I have to have my morning coffee.
            Your cupboard is lovely.

I'm glad you had some time for painting Daisy.

I hope your GD soon finds another suitable house Plant.

Your weather was the same as ours Nan2

            How's B Oma?

We had a lovely day. GS2 brought a drawing game with him which gave us lots of laughs!
There was enough buffet food left that we didn't bother cooking tonight, just had more of the same, plus some fruit for healthy balance!

Well that day didn't go as planned, all was going well.
DD , SIL and two youngest GS's arrived, later on DS and DIL arrived and all was going well.
DD suggested ordering some fish n' chips to be delivered, DS and DIL didn't want any as they had just eaten, so DD ordered the food, DS and DIL left as they had to go home and pack for their holiday.
Fish n' chips arrived, myself and DD shared them out and I sat down to enjoy my meal when disaster happened. I had managed to swallow a fish bone and it was stuck in my throat.
I could hardly breathe, I rushed into the kitchen to get a drink followed closely by OH and DD
By now I was coughing up blood much to OH's horror, he went into panic mode but DD, bless her was very calm . She googled what to do with fish bone stuck in throat.
She then got some bread, soaked it in some water and told me to roll some of it into a ball and swallow it whole!
Honestly, the texture of soaked bread in my mouth made me feel nauseous, so I would choke again and coughed up more blood, putting OH now into super panic mode
DD carried on ordering me to swallow more bread and drink lots of water and eventually I think the fish bone moved but not without leaving me with an extremely painful throat.
I have drunk so much water and cups of tea I know for certain I am going to be spending the night backwards so forwards to work bathroom.

When DD and company left, I went outside, closed the gate and caught my finger in the latch .
I now have a painful, bruised finger, the only finger in my hand that's not succumbed to arthritis!
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning, Mimi, that would be panic stations with the fish bone! I don't know if you read but I had something stuck in my throat a few weeks ago, what I do not know, I felt it a few days, affected my stomach as well, I decided if I ate the really hard crusted bread rolls from the Lidl it would maybe take whatever it was down with it, it worked as well. I did go to the doctor about my stomach, she said it would be irritated, if it didn't get any better I could go for a scan, it did clear though.

Rain is forecast here this morning, I hope to get to the second hand place, my car is packed full!!

                  Good morning Lizzie.

Mimi, that must have been so scary with the fish bone. Glad you managed to dislodge it. It's enough to put you off fish for life.

We aren't going out today , hubby wants to sort some stuff inside and outside of the garage.
There isn't any shopping we need.

It's lovely and sunny this morning, hope it lasts.

Hubby will have chicken tikka for dinner, I'll have a cheese omelette.

                    Good morning everyone.

Oh Mimi, how awful, the fish bone must have been so scary. What a calm and helpful DD you have. Then to trap your finger too I wanted to come round and hug you when I read all that xx

Lizzie, fingers crossed you get the car emptied.

Nan2 I hope you find something nice to do as you aren't going out today.

We are going to friends for the weekend. They actually live near us but have a large house in Scarborough which they often stay in. They are there for a week and have invited us for a couple of days over Easter. We are going this afternoon and coming back on Monday.
Tonight we are all eating out and going to a casino. This is something OH has always wanted to . I went to one years ago with work friends and wouldn't choose to repeat it, but hey- ho!
I'm worrying about the walking we will have to do plus the standing at the casino ( because of my back) but no doubt as is often the case I am worrying needlessly!
                    I will report back.

Gemini, have a fun weekend with your friends, try not to loose too much money at the Casino.

Mimi, what a dreadful experience for you, well done to your DD in handling the situation.

No real plans today, I am going to watch the boat race later. Don’t know if we are expecting any of the family today. No sign of that baby yet.

Good Saturday morning, everyone. We have sunshine - at the moment, but that's happened a lot recently, early sun then rain, rain and more rain.

Mimi, how terrifying for you. Your DD sounds a very sensible lady, and did the right thing, but I can imagine your OH must have been worried sick when he saw blood. Is your throat very sore this morning? I remember reading about the late Queen Mother being rushed to hospital in similar circumstances. Hurting your one "good" finger must have been the last straw. I think you should stay in bed and keep very safe today. Sending hugs. xx

Gem, your family day sounds great fun, and no evening meal to cook is a bonus. Enjoy your week-end in Scarborough - including the casino. You will be able to find places to sit - you don't have to watch the tables (or gamble) all the time, and there will be slot machines which may have stools in front of them. I hope OH enjoys it.

Nanto, I'd give yourself a nice relaxing day if you're not going to get your shopping fix, and it's always good to have a tidy up in the garage - so I keep telling my OH!!!

Plant, enjoy the boat race - who do you support? What is the baby's due date? You must all be waiting anxiously now.

Lizzie, let's hope the rain holds off and you get to take the stuff to the second hand place.

I've got a couple of loads of washing to do today, but apart from that, no plans until this evening - we're going round to our neighbours. Hopefully it won't be a very late night though, as we're going to DS1 and DIL1's tomorrow and we lose an hour's sleep with the clocks going forward.

I think everyone has the fear of a fish bone being stuck , well done DD and well done Mr Google what would we do without it ,
Hope your throat isn’t as sore today,
Didnt the Queen some years ago do the same thing ? I’m sure I remember something like that.

                          Nanto

Ive done my blitz through everything is sparkling although I’m very very tired , two night with almost no sleep is catching up with me.

I don’t expect anyone today , DD came yesterday , GS on Thursday ,
SIL sometimes pops in on a Saturday if he’s had the shop open but that’s not till about 3ish so I might get a nap today .

Just put some chicken strips in to marinate in Tikka sauce ,
B still full of cold but fancies something spicy ,
We both had beans on toast last night , he wasn’t hungry and I was too tired to cook anything else ,
                          Must admit I enjoyed it.

Have a good day ladies xxx

Oma, I remember the Queen mother once had a bone stuck in her throat.

I was the first in the car park for the second hand place so soon got my car emptied.

Oma, you must be exhausted. Definitely give yourself an easy day today. Poor B - it sounds a very nasty cold, but I hope he's better soon. You often can't taste much when you have a cold, so perhaps that's why he fancies the Tikka! Make it nice and spicy for him. xx.

Lizzie, I bet you're relieved emptying the car was as easy as it could be. You can relax now. xx

Oma we haven't set up the doorbell yet! I have connected it my phone but it's in a drawer atm.
We will do it when we get back.
I will survive the casino. Like the canal boat OH was so keen on, sometimes we have to do something we are not keen on ourselves. You may find me here tonight whilst they are betting

Is it fine there? When I have a bad cold I find I feel much better outside. Even if B sat in the garden for a bit it may help.
