Lizzie, hope you feel less achy tomorrow.

Ladies, if ever you can't find your purse in its usual place, look in the fridge.
Hubby jotted a few things on a list for tomorrow, and i asked him to put it in my purse.
Couldn't find it anywhere. When i went in the fridge for milk, there it was.
No idea what made me put it in there. This was after i had cleaned the fridge.

    Gem, glad you arrived safely.

Gem, the cottage sounds lovely - and so does tarragon chicken. Is it a nice country pub you go to?

Lizzie, ouch, you must be so sore after the rowing. We used to have a rowing machine which I quite liked using - until I was struggling to get off it because it was so low and the seat didn't lock, which made it hard to get off it. Your Dutch pancakes sound delicious. Is the recipe very different from our usual ones?

Nanto, years ago I used to make crepes suzettes and freeze them for when we had visitors and I needed a 'smart' pudding.

Oma, you're no more obsessed with the weather than I am. Today we've had sun, rain and wind. What are you like, doing all those floors! I hope you didn't get a wet bum from shuffling over the floors as you washed them.

WeeGranny, we had weather like that a few days ago. It's hard to decide what to wear when you go out, isn't it.

I started cleaning the windows today - I've done downstairs apart from the kitchen windows because I need to kneel on the counter tops and my knee is still to painful to do that. Oma would have been proud of me though. I cleaned all the window frames, including two sets of French windows, and opened them and cleaned the inside bits as well. Upstairs tomorrow, unless the weather's good enough for gardening.

          Good morning.

My head must have been somewhere else yesterday. Went to bed and thought oh I didn't get anything out of the freezer for dinner. Then i realised we won't be in, i was thinking it was Sunday.
What with putting my purse in the fridge yesterday and getting my days wrong, hope I'm more with it today.

Off to the farm shop this morning, then onto the garden centre, where we will eat.
Third port of call is Asda.
I prefer to have the shopping delivered, but I've got some Asda vouchers that can only be used in the store.

Good morning everyone, WG, I have just read your post, yes, Dutch pancakes are a complete meal!! I think the recipe is the same Daisy, eggs, flour and milk. They do add a lot of different ingredients though, from apples to bacon, cheese is very popular as well.

Nanto, I have moments like that, put things in a different place then forget where they are.

Daisy, the rowing machines at the gym have loose seats, that is why I have never used them, now I can ask one of the instructors to keep an eye on me. Plus the fact that they are very low! You did really well with the window cleaning, you may have passed the "Oma" test whilst doing them.

I went to my neighbours when I got home yesterday afternoon, the lady has just had all tests etc for her heart, I thought she got the results yesterday but it was Thursday. She has to go and see the specialist and he then can decide if her heart is good enough to "re-start", they give it a shock or something, she is always very tired and short of breath, they did tell her to start to walk at least 30 minutes a day, I have been saying that for a long time, I hope that she follows their advice. They were telling me that the youngest daughter is in the middle of a nasty divorce, I was quite shocked as they always seemed a good couple, one never knows what goes on behind closed doors!!!!! They have been married 27 years.

I may go on the bike to Zoetermeer this morning to the shopping centre, I want a navy top with sleeves so hope I can find one I like.

Gem, where are you in Northumberland? My nephew and family all live up there, Alnwick area.

Good Saturday morning everyone. The sun's shining here - I hope it's the same for you, especially Gem on her week-end break.

Lizzie, I hope they can help your neighbour feel less tired and breathless. It can be hard to motivate yourself to go out for a walk, especially with all the bad weather. I'm sure I would snuggle down with a good book if it wasn't for Eva's soulful eyes when she wants walkies! You're right - you never know what goes on behind closed doors, but sad that your friends' DD's marriage has broken down so nastily. Good luck with the shopping.

Nanto, yesterday was your 'giddy' day! It's so odd when you're convinced it's one day but it's another. Both OH and I though it was Saturday yesterday, and somehow today feels like Sunday. Enjoy your shopping and get some bargains with your Asda vouchers.

It was cold overnight, but as it's dry and sunny we're going to crack on with the garden today. There's a lot to do - cutting back, staking, weeding.

                Good morning everyone.

You are all making me want Dutch pancakes!

Daisy a very nice pub and nice meal. We had never been before. Dog friendly too if any of you are ever in the area with dogs

Nan2, I often get the day wrong, and once I do even though it's not that day I keep thinking it is!!

Lizzie its a place called Chathill. not far from Alnwick.

We will go to the beach today. It's not sitting around weather (although it is fine) A bit of a walk and sea air would be nice. We also want to wander around the area where our cottage is. The woods and lake with swans are a couple of minutes walk. Last time we stayed here was for a week so we wont fit as much in this time!
We are eating in tonight, with a ready meal and wine

Gem, nice pub and nice meal are essential for week-ends away. Glad yours was up to scratch. Enjoy the sea breezes today.

Lizzie, I hope you find your top, is it far for you to cycle? I can remember having Dutch pancakes, quite a meal.

Daisy, It is lovely and sunny here at the moment, I think I will get my sunroom straight today. My garden needs some urgent attention, I am hoping my gardening friend can come soon and give me a hand. I don’t want to know about cleaning window frames

Oma, will you stop talking about cleaning window frames, skirtings, behind radiators etc etc. I am expecting my cleaner next Tuesday, thank goodness, fingers crossed.

Nanto, I have giddy days most days, my calendar is my bible. Have a lovely day out, hope it is nice weather for you. Purse in fridge, is that a first? Bit tough for a meal.

Gemini, just take a deep breath and relax. When are you meeting the Oma’s ?

We were so lucky with the weather today! It was fine and sunny, and warm here on the estate. We didn't need our jackets when we walked down to the lake . This afternoon we had good walk on the beach, where we did need our coats and could have done with hats! So good to get out into the sunshine and fresh air.

Gem, glad you enjoyed your walk on the beach.

We went to Asda on our way home. The queues at the till were very long.
Hubby insisted on using the self checkouts, which i hate.
I forgot to scan my vouchers, which annoyed me. Good job i have got 2 years in which to use them.

Nanto, you were lucky going to Asda. I think you would have done less well at Sainsburys today.

Gem, the good weather was a bonus! So glad you enjoyed it.

Oma, it did feel a bit like Spring cleaning!

It was dry until tea time today, so we got quite a lot of gardening done.
