Oma, your MIL is so topsy turvy.

Lizzie, sad to see your friend like that. Sadly,it is what it is.
Glad they got the escapee back.

Our morning went all to pot.
I was just putting the shopping away, when friends rang. They have both tested positive for covid.
Asked if we could get them a bit of shopping. They know you don't have to isolate now,but they both felt really grotty.
One daughter is out of the country, and the other daughter couldn't get out of work till 4 o'clock.
So, we went to the supermarket, all they needed was bread and milk.
We didn't mind doing it,they would have done the same for us.
By the time we got home,it was almost time to put the dinner on, so i didn't get much done.
Tomorrow morning i'll make them a couple of meals and hubby will drop them off.

Nanto, the best-laid plans! I'm sure your friends were very grateful, and it was considerate of them not to go out spreading their germs around. I'm sure some people are too selfish to care. I bet they will be very grateful for a couple of meals tomorrow.

Lizzie, my OH is visiting a friend at a similar stage. When OH visited him this week he knew OH and used his name, but had to ask my OH what his own wife's name is. Visiting her probably does her the world of good, and you understand that she doesn't mean any harm when names etc escape her. Chocolate/lemon buns sound delicious.

Oma, hugs to you on your sister's anniversary. I bet she's keeping an eye on you from 'up there'. How many years is it now? Your MIL never ceases to amaze me. What's the betting in a couple of weeks she'll comment that you are depriving her of her Yorkshire puddings.

Gem, how are DD3 and baby? Hopefully it's just a 24-hour bug, but it's so hard to comfort babies when they're poorly - they just don't understand what's happening to them.

Plant, how has your day gone? It's back to normal now, I suppose - at least for a day or two. x

It took us ages to prune the rambling rose. It had grown very tall and into a tree next door. It hasn't had a haircut, so much as a buzz cut. I hope it survives, but I had read up in several places and they all said you could chop ramblers right down in the winter. I also cut back a Group 3 clematis I planted last year. I left OH chopping up the rose prunings and took Eva out for a walk just before tea. She made a new friend - we all but ran into a couple walking a black lab. The two dogs had a little sniff at each other, but the other one seemed rather nervous so I got Eva to sit while we chatted for a few minutes before carrying on round the block. Then we ran into the same couple again and the dogs greeted each other with wags and more confidence. The other dog has arthritis and I think she's frightened of being hurt if another dog jumps up on her to play.

Nan2, it was kind of you to take the shopping for your poorly friends .

Lizzie, your friend will still get a lot from visits even though she doesn't always know who you are. I felt blessed that despite the dementia my mum always knew who I was.

Oma, MIL is lucky to get that lovely food taken.

I think baby is fine Daisy. DD said he was looking at OH's photo, saying Boo ( his name for her) and putting his finger in his mouth to try to make the 'pop' sound she makes for him
Your rose will probably thank you for the cut !

I made use of my unexpected free day. I typed up the Minutes from Monday's meeting and coloured my hair!

            Good morning.
Busy this morning, making a large cottage pie and chicken casserole for friends.
There will be enough for at least 4 decent meals.

Our dinner is cheesy mash, mince and onion in gravy with veg.

              Good morning ladies.

Your friends will love those meals Nan2.

This.morning I have a 9 am massage to try to ease some of my pains from the fall. My regular therapist is always booked weeks ahead but I have used this one a few times. She is more expensive but closer and I can usually get in at short notice. She can do therapeutic ultrasound too and that really helps.
GS2 from school. Not sure if he wants to go out to tea or back here.

              Thinking of Glamma's family today.

                Morning everyone

                Daisy
It was 20 years for my Sister it seems to have just gone in the link of an eye,

Now at least if you see the two labs again the older one will not be as nervous bless it .

                Gem
Boo is a nice name for S 😁
Hope the Massage works and some of the pain is eased xxx

                Nanto
I bet those meals are much appreciated and the shopping , your a kind lady xx

We have Storm today , at the moment he’s flat out in the garden after his treats,
I did intend using today to clean some cupboards but I have a flare up of my Arthritis and didn’t sleep well ,
The worst is just under my shoulder blade makes it difficult to lift my arm too much.
I know in a few days it will be fine again but it’s a nuisance when I have things planned.

My thoughts will be with Charlotte and her family today , a hard day .

                  Good Friday morning.

I'm also thinking about our lovely Glamm and her family today. I wish I could have gone up there, but it is a long way.

Oma, sorry to hear you're having an arthritis flare-up. Take it easy, the cupboards will wait for you. Storm loves being outside, doesn't he. Eva only met one dog last night (Millie). It was Millie who was nervous the first time, but more relaxed the second time when she realised Eva wasn't going to jump all over her. .

Gem, I do hope the massage helps with your aches and pains. Will she give you ultrasound today? I'm sure whatever GS2 wants to do after school you will have a lovely time together. I don't have that sort of regular time with any of our GCs now, and I miss it. It's lovely just to hear about their day and enjoy their company.

Nanto, it's very kind of you to make some meals for your friends. I hope they're soon better.

OH is having an extra day on the kit car today. I've got plenty of jobs to be getting on with but no great enthusiasm for any of them. I'd better go and get a shower though, and get going.

Oma your arm sounds like mine. Try to rest it.

Daisy, don't overdo it with the jobs!
It's ironic that we are going to Liverpool overnight on Sunday . This was booked before we lost Glamma. Had the funeral been on Monday I would have been able to go.

I had massage with ultrasound, some acupuncture and have an acupressure ear seed in each ear. These stay in place for up to 5 days. I have never tried this before but am open to new ideas!
GS2 wants to go to the designer outlet today. He loves the play area then we have tea. Or actually he has tea and I have a snack. He likes to look in a toy shop or two as well. It will be McDonald's, Pizza Express or Wagamammas I think .

Just had a Face Time with GD, she was crying and very upset. They were feeding the swans near where they live and Harriet fell in the river, GD managed to pull her out but you can imagine how she was feeling. DD is on her way there to be with them. GD’s OH will be home soon too. GD had to walk back soaking with an upset wet child and H’s bike. I am feeling quite shocked at what could have happened, the river must be quite high. They love feeding the swans.

Oh your poor GD Plant, how upsetting for both her and the little one.
I'm sure it is easy for this to happen when it's wet and slippery.
GD will replay this in her mind again and again. What she needs to concentrate on is that she and H are fine xxx

Good afternoon one and all. How are you .

I succumbed to OH's dreaded lurgy so I have been mostly sneezing, coughing and sleeping, not necessarily in that order the last few days so I may have missed a few posts on here.
We had tickets to go and see 'Crooners " at our local theatre last night and at the beginning of the week we didn't think I'd be well enough to go but by some miracle yesterday I woke feeling 100% better and I am so pleased that I did .
The show was absolutely amazing, the music, comedy and swing band were brilliant. If ever you get chance to see this show I would recommend it.
On a note of caution though, be prepared to exercise your chuckle muscles ( as described by dear Ken Dodd) , they will ache from laughter and wear waterproof mascara or else you will end up looking like a panda from the tears of laughter!

Tesco delivery arrived and after it was put away we managed to do a bit of tidying up in the garden in the almost spring like weather.

Oh Plant, your poor GD . Hope she is warm and dry now.

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Oh Plant what a shock for them ,The side of the pond can be so slippy , these things can happen in a split second , luckily GD was able to get her out fast and the edges don't seem to be too deep but frightening none the less.
It's after when we think what could have happened that's worse than the actual accident isn't it .
I do hope H isn't to traumatised by it and it doesn't put her off feeding the ducks , although I think she will be hesitant for a while .let us know how they both are

Oma, It wasn’t a local pond, it was the River Thames, they live very close and frequently feed the swans. I imagine the river is quite high. I hope GD is feeling less traumatised. They have gone to a local playground now. DD has been over but I haven’t spoken to her.
