Sun shining at the moment but it has been raining. National Trust meeting today, sounds like a festive talk. DS’s birthday today, DD, SIL and friends are going out to lunch with him and his wife. I shall see him briefly to give him his present. H is getting better, still not right.

Daisy, you obviously need a new outfit for your social events. Have a lovely time.

Oma, Sorry you had a bad night not sleeping. I wish I could offer some advice. I hope your Mil enjoys her electric blanket, I love my under blanket.

Gemini, busy day for you today child minding. I hope your DD is well enough to go to her Christmas meal.

Daisy, the decorated trees in the church were only there last weekend, our tree looked amazing.

Managed a couple of hours but have a headache now,

It's been quite busy! DD1 dropped GS off for a couple of hours. While he was here a friend called in for a quick catch up. Then DD stayed for a cuppa when she collected GS.
Quick lunch then our hairdresser arrived.

DD3 is feeling better so they are going to go out. She will drive rather than get a taxi as planned, then they are free to leave as early as they need to if she feels not so good.
Baby is being dropped off in time to have his tea and bath here.

Very good speaker ar the meeting, he talked and showed slides of Christmas traditions going back to Roman times. I won a raffle prize.

We are on our own tonight. DD3 didn't feel so well again as the afternoon wore on and had a bad headache.
They decided not to go out. Sad for them but I think the wisest decision.
Although we had the baby all day yesterday we feel a bit sad to not have him tonight as planned! I watched a couple of short videos of him on my phone instead!
I'm feeling a bit 'coldy' today. I haven't seen DD3 for over a week so nothing to do with her.
I'm very tired after another bad night so that doesn't help.

Hello, everyone. I'm very late getting on here today, but have been out all day. We have had a lovely day out in Bournemouth, with an excellent lunch in a seafront hotel. The weather was ok - no rain and not even too cold and even sunshine. We got back home just in time for OH to get changed and go out to another Christmas meal. We were lucky that the worst of the floods had subsided, so the roads were all passable.

Oma, I hope you got to sleep eventually. You must be shattered - no wonder you've got a headache. I hope MIL gets on ok with her electric blanket when she starts using it.

Nanto, well done to your OH and BIL getting the lights on despite the weather. I've never frozen pastry at the crumbly stage, but think it's a really good idea and you can just take out what you need for a particular dish rather than defrosting a whole lump of pastry. Home-made chips are yummy. I hope you got your trifles ok.

Gem, I bet GS1 was delighted to have a morning with you. What a pity DD3 wasn't well enough to go out as planned. There seem to be a lot of nasty colds and other bugs around, so I hope she's soon better. I'm sure not sleeping well drags down your resistance to winter colds etc, so I hope you get a good night tonight. It's nice to get your hair done in good time for Christmas. It's lovely to have some baby videos to watch. He's such a gorgeous baby.

Plant, what a pity the trees were there for such a short time. I would have thought they'd make the church look very festive. Happy birthday to your DS, and I hope he's had a good day. That does sound an interesting talk. A raffle prize as well was lucky.

I've got nothing planned for today, so I'm going to catch up on washing and odd jobs round the house.

Rain here too Daisy. We were all amazed at the non rainy day yesterday.

I feel OK this morning so I suspect the cold I thought I may be starting was just tiredness.
I haven't heard from DD3 yet.

As we haven't got the baby this morning the day is totally free. I am going to put up the Christmas tree and colour my hair.

Hows H have you heard today ?

Did housework not much to do then went to B&M for gift bags
Came home and just sitting enjoying a cup of hot chocolate when MIL rang,

she wants the Electric blanket taken back , I just knew that would happen ,
Im having my hair cut and coloured on Thursday so B will have to take it back .
She could ask his sister as she goes on a Monday but no it has to be us 🙄

Then a list of stuff she wants , I have to go to our Shopping mall on Monday to order cream she wants from Boots , they don’t stock it but can order it in ,
Then she wants other stuff , I don’t mind getting these things as it’s not something she will send back otherwise I would tell her to get one of his sisters to get it.

As it happens I’m going to the shopping mall On Monday anyway so not putting me out in any way.

No plans for today, hoping to have a quiet one as I am feeling a bit washed out. I have pansies to be planted and bird feeders to fill but no energy to do it. The weather doesn’t tempt me.

Glamm, thinking of you today, sad day for the family

I have had a video call from GD1, H is still not well and is off her food, she will only eat toast, she asked for a yogurt but just sat looking at it. I hate it when the little ones are ill.

Oma, your MIL is the end, I wouldn’t do any errands for her. Why doesn’t she like it?

Poor H Im sure we all the same when our little ones are poorly , I would rather they were being naughty than laying around poorly
Maybe she should see the Dr poor baby.

Oma, no pleasing her then. I have an under blanket which I can control the length of time I want it on. Wouldn’t want to be without it.

GD, her OH and H have spent the afternoon here. H seems a bit better and has eaten something, they are just going home.
