Good Monday morning, everyone. It's dull but much milder here.

Nanto, I hope the better weather lasts for you. I think we're all fed up with the weather just lately.

Lizzie, so glad your glasses have turned up, but still frustrating to have the delay and wondering what had happened to them.

WeeGranny, well done to your GS's team and to your SIL who has obviously done a good job coaching them. It's a big commitment, and I'm sure there are parents who make the job harder by being "over enthusiastic". Oh dear, it's a good job they won after you got so wet and then your washing machine died on you. Is it repairable? I've never tried bell ringing, but I'm sure it's not easy. I bet the children will love it, and playing the organ.

Plant, your SIL is a star making a roast dinner for the family. I'm sure you had a lovely day.

Oma, what joy - a Monday morning trip to IKEA. B must be over the moon. .

Gem, I've never seen a cardinal, but I imagine they look spectacular, and better than a unicorn. I'm with S - I'd be over the moon. Aqua and then a relaxing day, going with the flow sounds just about right. Enjoy it.

I slept like a log again, and didn't wak up till nearly 9 am. This afternoon I'm going to the village cinema with a couple of neighbours. Other than that, no plans.

      Morning everyone.

      I had a wonderful Mother's weekend/day

DD and family came here on Saturday with an armful of gifts ,
I had purple tulips, a bracelet made by youngest GS , herb seed planter with seeds and a bottle of gin
We had a lovely day with them
Sunday Eldest DS gave me a card and Yankee candle
Second DS and DIL arrived with flowers, chocs and a bottle of wine and while they were here GD faced timed us from Vietnam
They left and then Eldest GS and his girlfriend arrived with , yet more flowers and chocolates.
      I have been throughly spoilt

Today is a quieter day OH has an appointment with the podiatrist in a while.
I have washed the floors, done two loads of washing and now I am going to make a drink before OH goes out
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Well he survived IKEA without too many moans,
I didn’t get to go to all departments he kept steering me through the short cuts 😳

I got my napkins and a few other bits then we went and had breakfast in the cafe,
I was standing waiting to order and next to me were the desserts , they had the most delicious looking Tiramisu, I was tempted to forgo the breakfast and have that instead but I thought it was a bit early for dessert,
Came home and text DD about it , she said she had it on Thursday when they were there and it was mouth watering,
Damn I wish I had got it now 😱🤣

As I was in the queue next to me was the tills , a old man was fumbling for his money he was getting flustered and he turned to the lady behind him and apologised for holding her up , she so nicely said don’t you worry about that then said to the young man on the till , I will pay for it ,
The old man was saying no you can’t do that so she said yes I can it’s my good deed for the day and in any case one more meal isn’t going to break the bank now is it .

What a lovely woman she was . The old man thanked her and took his breakfast off to enjoy .
So nice to see people who still care in the world .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Am about to lie down in a darkened room and recover from my school trip. Plant I'm sorry that you probably didn't hear the bell ringing, but the visit wasn't to the church near the school but the big one in P. It was very interesting and I was amazed at how much information the children took in. They certainly remembered more than I did about various things round the church. Bell ringing isn't easy especially when you're given the heaviest bell to ring! I did succeed however. There were roadworks taking place and the workmen stopped the traffic so we could get round safely which was very kind of them. Like Oma, I've met some kind people today.

Off to try and find someone to look at the washing machine. From the information in the booklet it sounds as if it's something to do with the water supply, I'll leave it to the experts to decide what the problem is!

Have a good afternoon ladies whatever you're up to.x

Oh Oma, how lovely. Things like that restore our faith in human nature.

Mimi, what a lovely Mothers Day weekend

I hope you enjoy the film Daisy. What did you see?

I was exhausted after aqua!!! It's a lively class and I felt energised so worked really hard. Good way to begin the week. I wish I had the same energy on land! One of my friends was there and we had coffee there afterwards.

Lizzie, pleased you got your new specs eventually.

WG, hope the washer is sorted quickly.

Sounds like we all had alovely Mothers Day.

I've been getting rid of some old paperwork, been shredding it.
Also got rid of some receipts for furniture we got rid of years ago.

WG I though it was the older church, I don’t think the one near to the school has bells. My DD tried her hand at bell ringing at that church but it wasn’t for her. The two churches have the same vicar, he is quite new. Hope you get your washer fixed soon.

Mimi, it sounds alike a busy week-end for you, but how lovely. You were certainly very spoiled by your family. Take it easy with the gin!

Oma, B has become expert at spotting those cut throughs in IKEA. I think you and B should go back later in the day and check out that tiramisu. How incredibly kind of that lady to help the gentleman like that.

WeeGranny, the children must have had a great time, and as you say it's amazing what they recall. Even small details which we (well I certainly) wouldn't even have noticed. I hope it's just a simple job on the washing machine.

Gem, aqua must be a great work out. Do you think it's helping with your new knee?

Nanto, it's amazing what we keep isn't it. Well done for getting rid of some of it.

Plant, my youngest BIL is a bell ringer and at one time his DD2 used to ring as well, but she moved away from the area. BIL goes on trips to other churches to ring - he takes it very seriously.

The film we went to see was The Miracle Club, a comedy-drama about 4 Irish women going on a pilgrimage to Lourdes in 1967. All 3 of us enjoyed it, and it was lovely that we were able to walk there and back (or paddle through the mud in places). We were greeted with a cup of tea or coffee and a choice of cakes. I think most of the audience was of a 'certain age' and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. One thing that struck me was the absolute silence of the audience - not a mutter, cough or sweet wrapper disturbed the quiet moments of the film, and the person in front of me actually turned round to check that I could see ok! On the way out I saw someone I hadn't seen for several years, which was lovely.

I'll definitely be looking out for the next film!

Good morning. I don't think the weather is going to be good today.

Glad you enjoyed the film Daisy.

Not sure what is happening today. Hubby might be going to Doncaster with DS1.

Don't know what or when we will be having dinner.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

Daisy, we went to see that film when I was recovering from my knee surgery and enjoyed it. How nice to have cinema so close!

Library and GS1 from school. I shouldn't have to drive him home this week as DD has a car now to pick him up.

                      Have a good day everyone.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. As forecast, it's pouring with rain here. I have to keep telling myself that we have had 2 dry days and I mustn't be grumpy about today's downpour!

Nanto, I hope your OH gets what he wants in Doncaster. If you've got no plans for a meal, I think it ought to be fish and chips or the pub.

Gem, enjoy the library. I bet DD1 is really pleased to be back on the road with her new car. It will save you quite a lot of driving time as well.

Oma, your GS1 knows he can rely on you and B - soaking wet, hungry or whatever. Still, it's great to see him, I'm sure, and lovely to know how he turns to you and B. You've got a great relationship with him. Fingers crossed that MIL is as apapreciative when you take her out today. xx

I've got nothing planned for today. Lots to do, but I'll see how the day goes.

Been raining here, but the sun came out about 11ish.

Just heard from our niece in Wigan, the funeral is on the 28th.
Even though her mum wasn't well liked in the family,we are going for the girls sakes.
It will be an early start, funeral is at 9.30. We will have to leave here about 7.45.
If they hadn't taken this slot, the funeral wouldn't have been until after Easter.
They want to get it over with, which is understandable.

Daisy raining here too earlier, but it has actually stopped now

Nan2, I agree sometimes we go to a funeral for the sake of those left behind.

GS1 is still under the weather with the cold which started at the weekend. No school for him, so a free afternoon for me .
So busy this morning at the library. If was paid I would definitely have earned my money!
Hungry now so off to make my lunch.
