Good morning, Daisy, I am drooling here!!! All those cakes!!!
I use the same pattern for my skirts, plain and handy when I am on the bike.
It is a lovely morning, warmer than yesterday, I am going to watch the Shanty singers later on this morning, I am busy with my washing, drying well this morning.
Enjoy your day in town Nanto.
Oma, I hope your DD manages to find a flat in Leeds, I expect it is the same at all the university cities, I know it is here.

Good morning everyone.
A no cooking day is a good day Nan2
Lizzie, you must save so much money with your sewing abilities (and your DIY etc!)
Compulsory cakes Daisy, can't be badI hope you have a lovely lunch today.
Little H sounds adorable Plant. The GGC must really enhance your life.
No plans today. I MUST write up the minutes of the last meeting. It was so long ago and my writing is so untidy I fear they will be half made up!
We need to go over to DD2's at some point this weekend. It is SIL's birthday on Tuesday. We are going in with family for his main present (Abba Voyage tickets. If you don't know what they are, neither did I!) but I want to get the smaller gift and card from us over to him. It may be today, I will see what they are up to over the weekend.

Its been a nightmare with these viewings again she got to Weatherby services yesterday to be messaged telling her it had been cancelled for the third time .
SIL was furious so he rang estate agents and gave them what for , it’s not like she can just go at the drop of a hat she has to take time off work for this .
hopefully the next one will go without a hitch .

Morning Oma, we crossed
I took regular painkillers yesterday which helped I think. I rested but kept active on and off throughout the day, which is the recommendation. Not so painful this morning thank you!

Good Morning and a happy Saturday to everyone,I have had to make myself sit and bring everything up to date as I have had a very busy week.
Oma I meant to post that Dunelm are having a big sale as soon as I saw the advert on TV I thought of you as I know you like some of their soft furnishing I looked for new cushion covers but nothing in the colours I liked.
I have been busy viewing flats for DS1 missed out on a nice one when the owner decided to put it up for sale !!! he now has to go and see the EA on Monday about another one we viewed on Wednesday so it looks promising its just 5mins from my house.
Daisy on Thursday I went to Liverpool with DGD (my son's daughter) Thursday is his access day but he had worked the night before and needed some sleep so we had a nana day at the Museum we sat for an hour doing arts & crafts with a lovely group and she brought home her picture along with some pic's of creepy crawlies she wanted to go on the open top bus but I couldn't find where it stopped so thats put on our list for next time we had a picnic on the grass opposite the museum.
Jim next door has now moved into the care home his niece found for him its just around the corner from her by Birkenhead Park so a lovely outlook for him,he said he was not over impressed with the old people there but has got over it now he has made friends with a couple of men he is 91 by the way and does not class himself as old lol.
I have been helping his niece to clear the bungalow of what he wants to keep so we have got to find homes for some white goods this week as she only has 2 weeks to empty the bungalow, she is going to bring him here next week to visit he doesn't really want to see the neighbours just my Oliver he is missing him so much,I don't know what Oliver will do when new neighbours move in as he thinks its his go to place when he doesn't fancy what I give him to eat.
This week I have also visited the hairdresser for a trim it has grown like wild mint I like the length DD had her's cut to but couldn't be bothered with doing it everyday I'm to lazy for that.
Had some bad news from my lovely friend in Scotland early in the week her S.I.L died in a motor cycle accident when out with a motorcycle group and on top of that her other S.I.L had to have a stent fitted after having a heart attack I feel sorry for them what a dreadful time for the family.
The past few days I have been trying to find a reasonably priced holiday for October for my pal & I they are so expensive I feel there are no cheapish deals to be had anywhere.
I'm off now to shops need some bits & bob's from Home Bargains .
Talk soon lovely people xx

Busy lady Glamma, I love your updates
Such sad news about your friend's SIL though.
Lizzie, the dolls are unusual.
We are going to DD2's for tea, a barbecue I thinkDD and GD and out this afternoon so we will go over after 5 to eat at 6.
I have finished the minutes!! Just checking and tweaking to do later and send them out.

I didn't get a chance to say 'hello' this morning, so it's a rather late catch-up.
Glam, I'm glad Jim is settled in the home, even if the other residents are old. Jim must be young at heart. His niece has done well to get everything sorted out for him, but I'm sure Oliver will miss his second home. I do hope your DS finds somewhere soon. You can spend a lot of time looking round, can't you. I suppose the coming changes to rental rules and regulations are encouraging some landlords to sell up while they can. What awful news from your friend in Scotland. She must be devastated. Where are you looking for a holiday - Spain/Portugal etc?
Gem, well done on getting your minutes finished - I'm sure there was a huge sigh of relief. Enjoy the barbecue tonight. I hope it stays warm enough to be comfortable.
Oma, how can Fin be one year old already! I hope MIL behaved herself. Any luck with DD's flat hunting yet?
Lizzie, I think different fabrics and colours can make repeat patterns look very different, and it must certainly speed up the making of them. The dolls look very difficult to make - fiddly. that bag is brilliant, and that would set you back a lot of Euros in a shop!
Nanto, did you buy anything special today?
Well, I think my birthday is finally over! A whole week of being spoiled, with lots of good wishes, cards and beautiful presents, plus meals out. Today the whole family went out to lunch. Both GSs looked incredibly smart and so grown up. GS1, who is nearly 20, was ID'd at the bar, but when he had another drink later at the table, he offered his ID again but the waiter said it was ok, he remembered him from earlier! GS2 and GD1 managed to fit in a game of chess between courses. I don't think GS2 felt his young cousin was much of a challenge - but he won't make that mistake again as she won! The food was lovely. I had seabream followed by a pistachio souffle for pudding - very yummy. We all went back to our house for champagne (and cups of tea!) and another birthday cake. I think I need a day off to recover tomorrow and then back to normal on Monday!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Good morning,
Daisy, that sounds like a wonderful family gathering to end your birthday week.xxxx
Yes, I do like the skirt pattern, in fact I was even thinking of making one with a pattern instead of the plain denim, you were right about the dolls, very fiddly, trying to "stuff" the small parts took a lot of patience!!!
I was annoyed at the post service yesterday, so annoyed that I have wrote a letter of complaint, it won't help but I have done it. I was expecting a parcel on Wednesday, in the app it would be delivered between 13.30 and 16.30, I stayed home only to read at four that with it being busy it wouldn't be delivered, this has happened every day since, so annoying!! I even saw the delivery van yesterday then at the same time I got the message it couldn't be delivered but they would try later on, only to get message that is couldn't be delivered and I have to pick it up at the depot on Monday, I was really annoyed. I have stayed home 4 afternoons for nothing! The parcels are usually delivered the next day so what the problem is I expect I will never know. Rant over!
I went to see the friend singing the shanty songs, it was good, I was talking to a younger friend, when I first moved here, almost 54 years ago, we lived with the cousin of my ex and his family, it was his boss as well, they had 5 children and still found room to have us. The 2 eldest helped me with everything as my ex was working in France and there I was only own with DS in a strange country etc etc. When we moved into the house we could use they were such good friends, when DS2 was born, as we had no warm water, the lady did all the washing etc and I can still see this young girl walking across the bridge in her hot pants carrying the washing, we were talking about it yesterday, she said I will tell my GD that story when I see her again. The brother died a few years ago from a tumour on the brain, he was only in his 50's.
Have a nice Sunday everyone.
