Good morning, looks like it might be a nice day weather wise.

Lizzie, just seen it on the news about the train derailment in your country.

WG, hope the funeral goes okay.

Gem, hope you are doing okay.

Daisy, hope you're computer can be sorted.

      Good morning everyone.
Another frosty one but the sun is out already.

WG, I hope the funeral goes as well as it can today. Take care xx
I think for us things are a lot easier than they would be if mum hadn't gone into the care home, meaning we had to sell her house. That is all behind us now, and all bills accounts etc closed. She has two accounts with the same bank which makes that easier. I am so glad we do not have the house sale looming ahead of us.

I hope your GS can fix the computer problem Daisy. OH gave our lawn it's first cut on Sunday.

Today GS1 and I are going to the cinema, and probably out for lunch. DD3 and baby may possibly be coming to see us, but she wasn't sure as they only have one car and SIL may need it today.

Good Tuesday morning everyone. We've had a sharp frost overnight, but the sun's out and it's getting a bit warmer.

Nanto, I fancy what you're having for dinner. I might do the same.

WeeGranny, thinking of you today. I'm sure it will be emotional for you, sending hugs.

Gem, it must be a relief knowing that you haven't got to face selling your Mum's bungalow at such a difficult time. A trip to the cinema with GS1 will do you good. What are you going to see?

I hope Plant is getting our lovely sunshine. The view from their holiday house will look even better with blue skies and the sunlight sparkling on the sea.

I managed to get my computer going last night, much to my surprise. I Googled the problem and found a fix. It's not quite as slow as it was either, so I was quite pleased! I'm going to rush through some chores this morning and then hopefully I can spend the afternoon in the garden if the weather stays good.

Sunny, cool wind but we are quite high up. We are going to a famous restaurant for lunch called Gurnards Head. We had a lovely drive back from St. Ives yesterday, DS decided to come back on the coastal road, lovely views. Dil and DS are amazing cooks so I am enjoying lovely meals.

Oma, do take things easy, I am sure B will keep an eye on you.

Thinking of Libra, I hope the move goes well today.

Lizzie, you are an amazing needlewoman, your GD are so lucky, I hope they are learning from you.

WG, Thinking of you, I hope the funeral doesn’t make you too sad. Well done GS for helping you.

Oma, J's eye is getting better. It's never take this long though. It doesn't hurt as such - just a bit scratchy, but still redder than it should be. He said thank you for asking. x

Birthdays and anniversaries always bring back memories, don't they, and unfortunately some of them are sad. I'll never forget the video of your Brother doing press ups between two chairs - so fit. It's still unbelievable how Covid hit him. Sending hugs. xxx

Have you told the doctor about the headaches after taking the beta blockers? Please take things easy. We worry about you!

I wish Libra lots of happiness in her new home. She's still a Dorset lass at heart. It would be lovely if she decided to drop in on GRU from time to time as well.

Plant, I hope you enjoyed your lunch at Gurnards Head. Did you have gurnard? I think it's a delicious fish and I did once find instructions on how to prepare it. I wish I'd saved them, because they were quite different from most fish . I also remember seeing it as a skills test on Masterchef once.

WeeGranny, just wondering how the funeral went and if you are ok. I'm sure it was emotional and tiring. x

I didn't make it into the garden today, but I got such a lot done around the house. Years ago I always used to do a spring clean, and now I know why - it's lovely to look round and see everything looking 'right'. Well nearly everything - the bathroom needs a good going over in the morning. I didn't take Eva out until 9.30 tonight and it had gone cold. I hope it doesn't freeze as OH has booked a tip run for 9 am tomorrow.

                Good morning ladies.

                Rain forecast for this morning.

Daisy, hope J's eye feels better soon.

I cooked some mince and onions in the slow cooker yesterday , so doing some pies for the freezer.

Not sure yet whether we are eating at the pub or at home.

Wishing you all a good day.

                  Good morning ladies.

Poor J Daisy. It must be horrible for him. We could do with a spring clean. We need to go on holiday. The house always gets one when the cat sitter is coming to stay!

Plant it sounds as though you are having a lovely time. This holiday will have done you good.

GS1 and I saw the film Mummies. I quite enjoyed it. I took my hot water bottle and the seats at Vue recline so I was fairly comfortable the whole time. In GS's opinion it was OK but too predictable, in that the leading characters disliked each other but in the end fell in love and married. Cynical child! I took him for cake and milkshake afterward. I just had a pot of tea as I had eaten too much sugar at the cinema. One strawberry lace but it was pure sugar and enormous.

GD and GS2 are coming today. I am so limited with what I can do with them due to the sciatica, I think we will just have to stay in. I will probably order them takeaway pizza which is treat.

We have provisionally booked my mum's funeral for Thursday of next week. Due to the hospital Dr not signing the death certificate as he hadn't seen mum long enough, and the GP who would do it not getting on with it, there is still no death certificate. This means we cant register the death and we cant finalise the funeral plans. Factor in a long bank holiday weekend, we think we may have to move it to the following week. It's causing us stress! Especially OH who as a retired funeral director knows this should have gone quicker.

Oh Gem, understandable the delays are causing stress.
When both mam and dad died it took 3 weeks for the funerals to take place.
Hope things get sorted sooner rather than later.

I don't think we heard from Lizzie yesterday, hope she is ok.

WG,hope the funeral went well yeterday.

Good Wednesday morning everyone. It's dull and chilly here. Please bring back yesterday's sun.

Gem, I sympathise over the delays to your Mum's funeral. As she passed away in hospital you'd think they would sign the death certificate. It's frustrating at a difficult time, and I can imagine how OH feels about the delay. I'm sure DS and GS2 will be quite happy with a day at home. Sometimes they just need to be able to relax and do nothing much. I hope you're not in so much pain though. It must be getting you down, especially on top of everything else. xx

Nanto, OH's eye seems a lot better this morning, thank goodness. He's just off to the tip with a trailer load of garden rubbish and seems fine. Lizzie is hopefully just busy with having both her GDs staying.

We've got a busy day. Dog training for me this afternoon. DS1 and DIL1 are coming at tea time and staying the night, ready for their German friends arriving here tomorrow. I'm going to do a full English for them, and we've planned a walk in the Forest if it's not too wet.

How frustrating but these things happen and there isn’t much you can do about it ,that’s the frustrating thing for S knowing how it should go isn’t it .
Good idea taking your hot water bottle to the cinema. Those Strawberry laces looked huge 😀

Im sure GD will amuse herself and some iPad time for GS2 wont harm .

Just made B take the kitchen bin outside to clean ,
He made home made fish cakes yesterday for tea , got up this morning and the bin stinks of fish yuk.
love fish but hate the after smell .

Morning ladies! Not such a sunny day here at the moment.

The funeral went as well as funerals can go. Rousing Welsh male voice choir ( sadly only on tape) as we went in and out of the crematorium. He was very proud of his Welsh heritage and his singing! I managed to hold it altogether, but felt drained afterwards. Thank you all for asking. I seemed to do a lot of driving, but the new car is very comfortable and pootles along quite nicely.....though I did panic when I didn't think I had enough petrol to see me home! Luckily, there was a Sainsbury's with the cheapest petrol I'd seen for a long time, so I filled up there and relaxed! Didn't do much for the rest of the day apart from plant a rhubarb crown and put down some grass seed.

Apart from Book Club this evening, I'm not sure what the rest of the day will bring. Have a good day whatever you're up to ladies x

Not sure what we shall be doing today, very misty. I am the only one up, we were very late going to bed yesterday. Dil, GS3 and I were up late chatting and GS announced that he would not be having children because of our dying planet and his friends think the same. How sad they are growing up with this thought. We are leaving them this legacy.

WG, pleased to hear you managed to hold it together at the funeral , it is early days for you. We were at GS’s last weekend for GGS’s birthday and could recognise your house by your Juliet balcony, couldn’t hear you calling Anthony.

Oma, do you think you should try and have a word with your doctor about your breathlessness. When do you see a medic again?

Busy time for you Daisy, I hope J’s eye settles soon.

Gemini, well done taking a hot water bottle. There are long delays for funerals here, we have two chapels but one is being refurbished. I hope you don’t have to change the date.

I hope Libra’s move goes smoothly today, she will be very happy to be back in Dorset.

Hallo everyone, I am here! I had a cleaning day yesterday, that was started early morning when I dropped an earring in my bedroom, could I **** as find it! I have an old chest of drawers with a loose bottom, I had to move that to discover the earring right at the back of it in a corner, how I got there I do not know. That started me cleaning my bedroom so everything was moved etc.

I have been to the gym and the circuit, we always book for next week, it is extra busy next week with it being Easter some classes are cancelled, I did join then somehow or other managed to cancel it for myself! I am on the reserve list, if I have to give it a miss I will survive, I move enough!

GD's helped bring the table and chairs upstairs for the balcony, GD1 helped me screw it together etc, I have just oiled it so it is ready for the summer months.

They went home at 9pm on Monday, GD2 stated that the 4 days had flown by, that must be a good sign, they did both enjoy it though.

WeeGranny, I am pleased you managed the funeral. Always sad.

Plant, I hope the mist has gone by now, it is lovely and sunny here, still chilly in the shade though.

Yes, it was a bad train accident, I read the lines won't be open for another week at least, it isn't far from here.

Gem, take it easy with the GC.

I want to get to the shop in the village then not much planned, I think DS1 will be coming for the bag that the girls left here. a4d89585-b59d-4c78-ae1d-2694cae7440f.jpg 117faef6-5a10-447d-b24d-7ed72ad856ed.jpg This is what GD2 made from clay, it is some comic strip figure.
