Plant, you have had a busy day. I hope you had fun as well. Have you heard how GD got on at work? I can understand her having to rush if a horse was about to eat the wrong food.

Gem, thank goodness the doctor wasn't too worried about your mum, and it's good news that she hasn't been sick again. I'm sure your heart must plummet every time she's poorly. Hopefully she will be pleased to see you tomorrow and that will perk her up a bit. It sounds sensible to have her bed against the wall. Does she get up in the night? No wonder people get fed up with the terrestrial channels - all repeats and wall-to-wall sport!

Oma, quite a day for you as well - the floor sorted and a lovely new car. Is B pleased with it? You will have to be careful getting in and out until you get used to the height. At least you're less likely to bump you head though. Does B read the owner's manual or does he like to play with all the switches, knobs etc?

Nanto, I ended up making corned beef hash. We had hake last night and salmon the previous night and it occurred to me that OH might feel tuna tonight was a bit too fishy. Also it was far too cold to make a salad.

YES! we have 'proper' broadband at long last! There is still some setting up to do - things like Alexa, the doorbell and bits and pieces like that. Apparently it will take a couple of days for the full speed to develop, but already it's 6 or 6 times faster than previously. We can't switch the phones to the digital service until sometime next week though.

Eva and I are both shattered. Training was hard this afternoon - she's really wary of one of the new dogs in class and there were only 4 dogs this afternoon and none of her 'friends' who she feels more comfortable around. Still, it's all part of learning and coping with different situations. She's slept since we got home.

      Morning all (albeit very early)

Thanks admin for the email update.

Gem how is your Mum? Falling out of bed must have been very upsetting for her.

Oma I wish our chippy did a pensioners special, one portion was fish and chips cost an arm and a leg here .

Daisy our all singing, all dancing faster super-duper fibre broadband installation didn't go without a hitch.
The Openreach engineer arrived early and got on with my job in hand except for after an hour into the job he announced he couldn't actually finish the connection as he wasn't qualified enough to connect to the fibre box at the top of the pole outside our property He said he had phoned his colleague and he would be around soon to finish the job .
Hours passed and no one had arrived.
Half 4 in the afternoon another engineer arrived saying that he had left us last on his list as he only lives a few doors away from us which was fair enough but he couldn't understand why we had been told that he needed to reach up to the pole outside, he actually had to connect us to the green box down the road.
Anyway eventually we were connected and so far so good.... apart from the smart meter, it doesn't seem to like the new broadband so that's another hour or10 that I will have to spend on the phone in queue to eon.

Really excited for today, I'm going to clean the oven. Can my life get anymore exciting than this 😅😉

        Good morning. Cloudy again.

We are going to visit SIS in law this morning. Hubby helping her hubby with something.

Mimi, just think how excited you will be when the oven is clean.
Since getting the air fryer,i've only cleaned ours once, but it didn't really need doing.
        Hardly use the oven now.

Gem, hope you have a lovely visit with your mum. Hoping she's a bit better today.

Yesterday i took a chicken stew out of the freezer. Will heat up in the microwave.
Will put some dumplings(courtesy of Aunt Bessie) in the air fryer. Nice easy diner.

          Good morning ladies.

Daisy take it easy today, you and Eva! Good news about the broadband.

Mimi, I'm going to see mum today so will see how she is. She will lie right on the edge of her bed, and fell out about 2 or 3 weeks ago. She bruised the side of her face. I couldn't go for a while due to covid and when I saw her last Friday there was very faint yellow bruising, The following day they phoned to say she had done it again, more bruising. I am expecting it to be quite bad today. Fingers crossed the bed move helps.
Oven cleaning! That's far too exciting for me to tackle.

Nan2, I love it when I can a take something I have previously cooked out of the freezer for dinner!

I am going to see my mum this morning. I need to pick up a couple of things from the shops on the way back but nothing else planned for today.

Hairdresser today to tidy me up, she is coming just before 12, she has been doing my hair for over 25 years, we have a good chat and catch up with family news. Bit of a shock for the residents of our road yesterday as a young teenage girl was attacked just yards from our house at 3.30 in the afternoon. He apparently molested her, pushed her to the ground but fortunately he then left. The road is linked to ours, used to be woodland so still quite a lot of trees. He is described as black, 6ft tall.
GD has been signed off for 5 days so will be home to look after H.

Gemini, I hope you find your mum well and happy. So sorry she is falling out of bed, quite a shock for her. Let’s hope moving her bed does the trick. Doesn’t she have a guard on her bed?

Daisy, will this be the end of the saga? Shame Eva was unsettled at the dog training, she is so human like.

Oma, how exciting, floor fixed and a lovely new car, is it specially adapted for B? Be careful getting in and out.

Nanto, I love getting a meal out that I have previously frozen so don’t have to cook.

Mimi, Nice clean oven, what else could you wish for. I keep getting phone calls offering to clean my oven, I hardly use it so once a year is sufficient.

Sorted out the smart meter malarkey.....I've turned it off and back on again, if only we could do that with ourselves

Good morning, the story of my fridge is similar to your broadband Daisy! One man has been a few times, fitted a new door on the freezer etc, now another friendly man has just been and he says the rubber of the freezer door isn't closing as it should, he is ordering a new door for me and if that doesn't solve the problem he will see that I get a new fridge.

It is a cold wind but lovely and sunny, I want to go to Delft to the AA shop, I ordered a fleece jacket out of the sales and need to pick it up. I went to the huge furniture store (outlet) with GD1 yesterday afternoon, we had lunch then had a nice look round the stores. I got a few small items, I like to go just to have a look round now and again.

Gem, I hope your mum is feeling better today when you visit.

Oma, what car have you got? Those friends I went out with last week have a Vauxhall Mokka, it has to go back to the dealer this week, got the call from Vauxhall.

Plant, how awful for that young girl being molested.

Daisy, you will be pleased when everything concerning the broadband is settled.

I will go and brave the cold, I got the new jacket the other day, perfect for on the bike!

Good Thursday morning, everyone. It's chilly, but at least we have sunshine.

Mimi, I sympathise about the broad band chaos. Was your connection back to the cabinet (the green box) on poles? Ours all had to go underground so our previously awful pavements are now even more awful! Your first engineer was right - he wasn't qualified!!! I'm glad it got done in the end though, the excitement of no broadband and a clean oven could well have been your undoing!

Gem, I hope you find your Mum in good spirits and starting to feel the benefit of the antibiotics. It sounds as though she needs a little guard rail on her bed - it must be such a shock when she falls out.

I'd love to be able to take a ready-prepared meal out of the freezer, but the trouble is by the time I've cooked a meal, we want to eat it. They never get to the freezer!

Nanto, enjoy your visit to your sister-in-law's this morning. Will you two have a chat over your coffee while the hubbies are getting the job done?

Plant, snap! I've had my hair cut this morning as well. It was so long I was struggling to get the brush through it or to do it up. I've had about 5 or 6 inches off and it feels much better. I'm glad your GD has been signed off - she's probably not getting as much rest as she should. How shocking to have a violent attack like that right on your doorstep. The poor girl must be traumatised by it. I hope they catch the attacker - who knows what he'll do next.

We are working out way through changing all the passwords etc that need changing for the new broadband. The Ring doorbell is next on my list.

Mimi - glad your Smart meter is sorted. I wish I could say the same for our doorbell! I'm still trying to find out how to connect it to the new router and our two mobiles.

Lizzie, that jacket looks smart and cosy! Lovely. I do hope your fridge gets sorted out quickly. It sounds as though they should be replacing it with a new one, instead of keep tinkering with it. Fingers crossed for you. Sometimes it is nice just to wander round the shops - and have lunch out as well, of course.

Lizzie, I love the jacket. I really like navy.

Well done with the smart meter Mimi!

Plant, they will only put a guard on the bed for immobile people. They say mum would try to climb over it to get out and would be in more danger.

Daisy, your hair will dry much faster now!

Mum was a bit better this morning. The antibiotics seem to be working as they said she looked better than at the weekend, and is eating now. I took her a cream cake and she ate that! It was pack of two so I got them to put the other in the fridge for later. She was very tired and not much conversation, but she was happy when I reminded her of GD and baby's visit last Friday. She is generally more tired in the mornings. She has never been a morning person!

OH is on the golf course and for once it's not raining or drizzling

Steady on old girl cleaning oven and sorting smart meter , all that excitement will give you the vapours 🤣🤣🤣

Well we went to MILs this morning ,
The good mood didn’t last long she was her usual nasty self today,
                        She complained about everything ,
Hadnt taken my coat off when she demanded I take some books to the hairdressers there and then ,
I said no i will take them when we leave , well I want you to take them now she said ,
Sorry I said it’s not happening so she wasn’t happy .

Had some jobs wanted doing like make the bed up and that’s fine it’s to much for a woman her age ,
She then wanted taking to the post office up the street , again fine as it’s quite a walk , so I said well while we are out we will take you to Morrisons as she had said she needed shopping .
Oh I can’t go there I’m not dressed up.
who do you need to get dressed up for ? Your only going to the supermarket .

Well she had no choice as when we came out of post office B headed for Morrisons ,
God you would think we were kidnapping her the way she went on to the point B told her to shut up and he never speaks like that to her ,

She got her shopping then said I’m pleased I came now 🙄😱

Called his Sister all the names under the sun for taking the new puppy on Monday
Said it was a bother , it’s 12 weeks old it’s a baby and his sister is only there for a hour once a week ,
Going to tell her not to bother if she’s got the dog with her , yet his other sister takes her dog and she has treats in for it .
We honestly give up now 😳

Lizzie, love the jacket,it looks like it will be nice and warm.

Oma, the car looks nice. It does look black doesn't it.

Plant, what a terrible thing to happen, especially on your doorstep so to speak.

Daisy,it only took the menfolk 1½ hours to do the job. Us ladies sat drinking tea and nattering.

Oma, your new car looks amazing. I half expect James Bond to step out of it, but it might be a good idea to block out the number plate as it's visible to anyone who cares to look. I hope getting in and out of it is ok! xx

Your MIL takes the biscuit - she's been nice for a couple of weeks and now back to complaining. I couldn't help wondering why she want to dress up for the supermarket, but not bothered about the post office.

Gem, thank goodness your Mum looks a bit better today, and with another cream cake to enjoy tomorrow I'm sure she will be on the way to recovery. It seems ages since you mentioned S was out on the golf course, but I bet she enjoyed playing today.

Nanto, sitting drinking tea and nattering is a good way to relax!

I spent a long time this morning trying to get our Ring doorbell updated with the new router. It was hard to work out exactly what model it was (despite having all the original leaflets and going on to the Help Forum), then it seemed to get stuck in a loop when OH tried to update his phone. I did it in the end, but have no idea how!
