Just a quick 'hello' from me. Busy morning and just waiting for DIL1 to arrive in a minute. I've baked more of Gem's oaty biscuits - they look really nice, and I can see they're going to become a regular treat, and so quick and easy to make.

    Back later.

Oma, glad you got the boiler sorted.
Shame about the tooth, but what can you do.

          Plant,Tommie has 2 teeth i think.
Hope you are having a lovely day with GD1 and baby H, We won't be calling her a baby much longer.

I've had a productive day. Got a few jobs done.
Also made 3 steak, onion and mushrom pies. All in the freezer now.
I had a massive block of cheese,so i have grated it in the food processor.
Shared it amongst several zip lock bags and in the freezer as well.

              How do…
Oma I don’t envy you the tooth palaver. I hope it’s fixed soon, and Gem, the only way is up now. A bit of peace and quiet will be welcome I imagine.
Nanto2, you’ll meet yourself coming backwards with such organisation. In this house it gets to lunch time before I can think about dinner!

I have news. DD1 rang to see if my brother was still interested in a retired gun dog. (His current dog is on his last legs.) A border collie is up for re homing. The owner has dementia and is going into a home. Borders aren’t gun dogs but I smelled a rat here…we lost our much loved Mollie-the-Collie 6 years ago and had decided not to have another dog . One look was all it took! Her name is Bess and she is just 9 years old. She has the same gentle nature as M-the-C. We will take her on when we return from our hols, but we can take her out for a few walks next week. I am so excited, I didn’t think we would ever have another dog. Now all I need is a middle aged cat.
              Doing a happy dance…💃

Good morning everyone, Grauntie, the dog will have a new "happy" home!

Nanto, like Gem I also never think to put cheese in the freezer!

I went to do the coffee yesterday, plus the plants, they are all coming on so well with my loving care! One of the ladies saw the leather bag I had made, she was saying she had a koala bear that was coming apart at the seams, it has sentimental value as she and her late DH bought it when they last visited Australia to visit family, I told her to bring it with her and I would see what I could do. She had it with her yesterday so I brought it home, I did manage to repair it, but, it wasn't an easy task, with age it has deteriorated. She will be pleased with it, I will tell her not to handle it too much as it will split again.

Oma, you will be pleased that the boiler is repaired. Gem as well for DD3 and the family. Are you and S feeling any better?

                    Good morning everyone.

Lovely Grauntie, that doggy will have a good home Now as you say. a cat to complete the group!

Lizzie, we are on the mend thanks. I am fine apart from the odd bout of tiredness.

Not much sleep for OH or I as we were worrying about our cat. He is 19, an amazing age considering he had bad start before we got him. He has a heart murmur and couple of other things, but until a few days ago I would say had a good quality of life. He is failing now, drinking but hardly eating, very thin and just well fading. I hope he's not in pain. We will call the vet on Monday.

DD3, SIL and baby can go home for the weekend now the electrical fault with the boiler is sorted out.
Today was originally to be a family day, before DD3 etc had to more or less move in, then covid struck! We will reschedule

                    Happy Weekend everyone.

We are going into town today. So,we will be eating out.

Gem, sorry to heat the cat isn't very well.

Good Morning ladies, Its been an eventful week here have been to clinic and had my eyes checked I did not need another needle treatment this time just xrays & pressure checks all seemed OK .

A new addition to the household by way of a rescue bulldog, she had been used as a breeding machine and rescued by the Edwards Foundation along with her sister they had both been used multiple times to produce puppies for a puppy farm she is so placid and she has certainly lifted my mood we are out and about twice a day which is so good for us both.

After a chat with Jim's (next door neighbour) niece it has been decided that I won't be cooking any more on Sundays as he is not eating the meals I pass in,he has no appetite at all and is showing signs of depression & self neglect he will not allow his carers to prepare his ready meals or help him shower it is such a shame personally he would be so much better in a care home where he had company as he just loves to chat all day to other men.I'll just make sure he has little snacks and soup etc .

I'm off now for a short walk with my new pal I will catch up later. Posted today in YEO lovely news.

                            Good Saturday morning, everyone.

I think Spring must be well and truly in the air - new babies, new doggies and possibly a new cat to join one of the doggies!

Oma, I was going to say it's good that the tooth is hanging in there, but that's perhaps not the best phrase to use! I do hope you don't need to go to the expense of a crown.

Gem, I'm pleased you and S are on the mend. You've certainly had an eventful week. Poor kitty, 19 is an amazing age but it does sound as though he's getting rather tired, poor little boy. Sending hugs - I know how you feel.

Lizzie, that wool's a lovely rich colour, is it one of your favourites? Well done on repairing that frail old teddy.

Glamm, how lovely to have a new companion who will take you out for walkies a couple of times a day. Poor Jim. It does sound as though he'd be happier in a home where he always has company.

Nanto, enjoy your trip into town. I hope the wind doesn't spoil it.

Grauntie - congratulations on becoming a dog-parent again. Bess sounds wonderful, and I'm sure she will settled down very quickly in your home.

I mentioned that yesterday was busy. We had our usual Friday morning clash of getting the bins out and the groceries in, then the guy arrived to service the caravan. OH had moved it ready to work on yesterday. Then DIL1 arrived. She had dropped DS1 off in Southampton where he was meeting up with some mates for lunch etc. They obviously has a long lunch because he didn't message DIL to go and pick him up until about 6 pm. But DIL and I had a lovely afternoon - it's not often we have chance to have a chat without lots of distractions. My OH has a cold, so was keeping his distance! DS said he'd like to come back here and see us before they went home, so we all had a Chinese and more chat. Before we realised it it was nearly 11 o'clock! Still, it was lovely to see them, and Gem's oaty biscuits were very popular!

It was a long day, though, and OH is feeling quite tired today - he's had breakfast in bed and has gone back to sleep! I need to get the washing machine on and later take Eva out for a good walk.

Glamm, enjoy your walks with your new dog. Those puppy farms are a disgrace.

Lizzie, well done for repairing the bear and I love the colour of the proposed knitted scarf, it is a colour I would choose.

Nanto enjoy your day in town and your lunch out.

Gemini, sorry to hear your cat is feeling his age and is not eating. I hope you and S are having a rest from visitors. I can remember feeling very tired with Covid.

Just had a visit from H, she is with my DD and Sil today and tomorrow. They had a lovely day at a meeting to vet them to look after guide dog puppy before it goes to train.

Oma, I do hope that your tooth can be repaired without too much expense.

Grauntie, We used to have a border collie, lovely dogs, very intelligent. If we were out for a walk and didn’t stay together he used to round us up. We lived in the country then and he used to take himself for a walk.
