Been on the phone with my sister , My BIL went to the Drs this morning as he’s having trouble breathing ,
Dr sent him into hospital from the surgery , They have him on oxygen and doing tests but we know not much else at the moment .

Oma, yes, I did get the casserole made - just a bog standard chicken one with plenty of veggies in. I'm still not used to the new oven though, and the rice pudding ended up with a *very* crispy skin, well, ok, then, yes it was burnt to a cinder! I forget that the fan oven gives much the same temperature top and bottom and I'd put the rice in on the bottom shelf at the same time as the casserole, and 160C and thought it would be ok. It was only edible because OH will eat whatever I put in front of him!!! Fancy your MIL being so chatty - but nice that she was. I do hope your BIL is ok. Has he had a cold or chest infection, or have the breathing difficulties started without any obvious cause? Let us know how he is, won't you. xx

What a shame you didn't get your trousers or your Oxos!

Nanto, we definitely could have done with some of your sunshine today. Your poor BIL must be feeling very poorly and it's worse if you can't sleep well. I hope he's soon on the mend. Mind you, hospital beds are so uncomfortable it must make his aches and pains worse. I hope the results bring good news for him tomorrow.

Plant, did you start on your photos?

I seem to have been on the phone, either chatting or messaging most of the day. We're trying to organise a family get together over Easter. OH's eldest sister and her OH are coming down to stay with one of their DDs for the week-end. They are both getting a bit frailer in different ways and I don't know how much longer they will do the journey from North Wales. So we thought it would be nice for them, their two DDs and SILs plus their two GSs to come over for lunch and we'd invite our GSs and their families as well. That's 18 of us! I'd better start cooking!

Apart from a load of washing that's about all I've done today!

Daisy, nothing wrong with a bog standard chicken casserole.
Going to be busy for you over Easter.

Oma, how lovely that MIL was so nice yesterday.
Hope you BIL is ok. We might hear some news about our BIL today.

Beef casserole for us today. Took it out of the freezer last night.
        Doing dumplings with it.

          Good morning everyone.

Family get together, lovely idea Daisy

Oma, I hope your BIL is OK. A nice change for MIL to be so pleasant.

Plant parking at our hospital is nightmare too, and finding your way around.

Lizzie, no my hair loss is normal now I would say. They said it would take between 3 and 6 months of noticing it for it to stop and it has. My bun is still like a babies to my mind though not thick like it was! It should thicken up in time and the condition is improving too.

Nan2, casserole with dumplings is one of my favourites. I did a nice casserole last night (if I say so myself!) I can't eat beef so it was with lamb chunks and some red wine. Mash with it. I wish I had thought of dumplings though!

Poor baby GS is not at his best. This week he has cut his 3rd tooth , a bottom one next to the two he already has. I think another must be coming as he has had a mild temperature, red cheek and pulling his ear, still the loose nappies and just a bit miserable at times. He is such happy brave baby though so most of the day he is smiling and happy despite it all.
DD is supposed to be working today and SIL will bring baby here for all or part of the day. Their building work may be finished by the middle of next week.

Double school pick up today then the GC here for the weekend. GS2 all weekend, GD will be going to town with her friend on Saturday and staying the night with her. Her mum is DD's best friend.
OH's turn to cook tonight. We are all having sausage and mash.

Good Friday morning everyone. We had frost again overnight, but at least the sun's shining today!

Oma, your poor BIL. I hope the chest infection clears up ok, and they can check out his heart problem. Enjoy your shopping!

Gem, what a busy day you've got. I'm sure DD3 has been very grateful for your help, but it's such a feeling of relief when building work actually gets finished! It's one time I don't mind cleaning up. Poor little baby. It's quite unusual to cut three bottom teeth, isn't it, and I suppose the fourth one must be nearly there. He's a brave little chap, but I hope he gets a break once this is through. It's going to be a busy week-end as well with GS2 and GD as well. Great fun, though. xx

Nanto, I do hope you get good news about your BIL. You can't help worrying until you know, can you. I love dumplings with a casserole, and I did think about them for our visitors last week-end, but my stew pot was too full! I've got left-over chicken casserole tonight. OH is eating out, so it's just me.

No particular plans for today - a nice go-with-the-flow day!

Gemini, busy weekend for you, I hope DD3’s house will be finished soon.

Daisy, I love a family get-togethers The one we had recently, DD didn’t cook the food she ordered it from Waitrose. You don’t want to spend a long time in the kitchen, they have come to see you too.

Oma, how nice to find your Mil in a good mood, I hope she makes a note that you stay longer when she is pleasant to chat to. I hope your Bil will feel better soon, he is in the best place.

Nanto, I haven’t had a dumpling for years

No real plans today, H will be here today with DD so I will pop in to see her. Her mother faced timed me yesterday to see H’s antics in the bath. DS, Dil are taking me on holiday on the 1st April to our favourite place, Sennen Cove in Cornwall. A bit early but they are busy the rest of the summer. We have a flat with a beautiful view, so hopefully it will be decent weather and I can just sit and look at the sea.

Good Morning everyone,a nice few days here the weather is bright and quite warm really I have even put and a quilt on the line to flutter in the breeze even if it doesn't dry it will still smell lovely and fresh after being outside.

Its getting closer for the arrival of new baby GGS he is booked in for delivery on 14th and yesterday I bought two more little pale blue blankets for his crib I can't go past a baby shop at the minute without stopping.

Nearly half way through February already the time is certainly going over, next Month DGD is 21 and GGD will be 7 the time certainly flies by remembering when they where babies.

I'm feeling much better in myself and not so down even though not posting as often I do keep reading the up to date posting to keep in touch with what everyone is up to its very up lifting to read every day.

Off now to Aldi for weekend veg etc so will catch up soon xglamma x

Glamm, I think the weather makes a huge difference to how you feel - it does to me certainly. Four more sleeps to your new GGS's arrival. He's going to be such a lucky little boy with Great-Grandma spoiling him.

Thank you for saying we help you feel a bit better with our posts. It makes what we do worthwhile. xxx

Plant, our posts crossed. How lovely to have a holiday planned. By April the days will be much longer, even if it isn't great weather, and I think the sea is always fascinating. I could watch and listen to it for hours.

I'm looking forward to our family get-together. I've always loved being part of OH's large family, and for years his eldest sister and her OH entertained us all regularly. Many happy memories of little things like the DSs as children going with their uncle to collect the eggs - they always said Uncle Dai's eggs were the best which used to make us laugh as we pictured said Uncle balancing precariously in the hen house!! So being able to get a lot of us together here is lovely. Plant, we used Waitrose Party for most of the catering for DS1's 50th last year, and I think I'll do the same with this gathering. I am thinking about making a Simnel cake, though.

Daisy, enjoy your go with the flow day.

BIL still in a lot of pain, can't get any sleep.
Doctors say they can't increase the morphine anymore.
Did an x-ray on his lungs yesterday and done a ct scan today.
Its night time there now, so there might not be any more news until tomorrow, our time.

Oma, hope your BIL is feeling better soon.

Poor baby isn't well today I think it's a combination of teeth and whatever DD has had. Daddy is having to hold him even when he sleeps and he can hardly raise a smile. We couldn't get him to take his Calpol at 11.30 which doesn't help.

Nanto, what an anxious time for you. Let's hope your BIL gets a good sleep and feels better when he wakes up. Constant pain is so wearing.

Gem, poor little love. Hopefully he will take some Calpol soon. You feel so helpless when they are poorly and nothing seems to settle them. xx

Your poor BIL , when your in pain you can’t sleep and that makes you feel worse , plus being so far from home won’t be helping him .
I hope he turns the corner soon and is able to fly home .

My BIL has heart failure, They have put him on Antibiotics and different meds ,
My Sister is in bits , she doesn’t cope with illness well, she is no good even when the children fell over and cut there knees she would panic .
Its been lots of tearful phone calls this morning and reassurances ,
Does not help she’s Agoraphobic so can’t go to the Hospital to be with him , not that she would be any good there .

                            Gem
Have they tried putting his Calpol in a bottle teat to let him suck on or dipping his dummy in it if he has one .
So difficult when they are not well ,
I do hope it’s only his teething and not what they had but sounds like it is ,
Is he able to sleep long when Daddy is holding him or is it just little naps ..

Hallo everyone, Plant, that sounds like a lovely holiday to look forward to.

Daisy, you will enjoy having all the visitors, I would panic! No, I did it a few years ago and had a house full, it went really well.

Gem, your poor GS, I hope he soon recovers, babies usually do.

Oma and Nanto, I hope both your BIL's are on the way to recovery, Oma, my mother was like your sister, panicked if one of the GC fell over!!

Glamm, you will be counting the days now to the 14th.

I went to the gym at 7am, I was almost there and realised it could be icy, it was! A young man passes me most mornings on a fast bike, he flies over the roundabout, he took it very slowly this morning, that is when I realised it was icy. I managed to get there without falling though. I then went to do coffee for the art class, they were doing portraits this morning, it looked very difficult. I have just been for treatment for arms and legs, plus a good catch up on her family news.
