Oma, our posts crossed. Glad to hear you've got your new toaster. It sounds like a bargain compared with some 'posh' brands, although my OH is still like a small child at Christmas every time he uses his posh Dualit one. But as you know, he's got a 'thing' about toasters! Goodness knows why.

Plant, Well done - a cheap visit to the dentist is as rare as hen's teeth these days!!! Did your DD and SIL enjoy their trip to Normandy?

Hallo everyone, lovely and sunny now after fog this morning.

Oma, I did say that to GD1 about sewing something in her coat, I could even still do it, if the girl had sold it on that wouldn't help much! It is the same with bike thefts, I often wonder what (if) the parents say when they arrive home with something that is not theirs? I do hope the school got in touch with her parents about the theft.

Daisy, GD1 has an app to follow the exercises, I only hope that she does them, she will find out soon enough if she doesn't.

Nanto, I will have to try jacket potato in the air fryer, I did the chicken in it last night for the wraps, GD1 loves them.

      Oma, the earthquakes are shocking.

I have been to the friends with the penthouse, what a beautiful view when the fog lifted.

        Its awful about the earthquakes.

Been a lovely day weatherwise. Earlier today we sat in the garden with coffee, it was warm in the sun.
Hope its a sign of things to come.
The washing has dried lovely, just needs airing off.

Daisy,i used to make my own rice pudding years ago, when there was four of us.
Now, we open a tin of Ambrosia.
If i needed some for a few of us,i would make it in the slow cooker now.

        Oma, new toaster sound good.

          Nanto
we still do rice pudding , I like Ambrosia but B doesn’t ,
I remember when we were all small Mam would make it in a big Enamel dish , my Dad and Sister liked the skin on top yuk
My Brother loved it with strawberry jam on top of his share 😁

          Lizzie
GD sounds a sensible girl I’m sure she will do her exercises,
I bet the views were lovely , they are so lucky to live in the penthouse , are these the ones with the rooftop garden you showed us ?

          Plant
Good you didn’t need anything done at the Dentist ,

Oma, it is the penthouse with the gardens.

My mum used to make "rice pudd" as my father called it, also in the enamel dish, she would make semolina as well, oh, and a delicious bread and butter pudding. When I was at school we once made rice pudding and the teacher said to give it more taste to add cocoa, ugh, I think that is what put me off things with different tastes. I like everything plain!

I can't see your toaster Oma.

I love proper rice pudding, OH does too. We both like Ambrosia too and often buy that. My mum liked the skin off the top. It did and does make me shudder!

A good and busy morning at the library. DD and baby didn't meet me for lunch, as DD has a cold so just stayed at ours and I came home after my shift. They were at SIL's parents for the weekend, SILs brother called in and has now today tested positive for covid. DD is panicking that she has it, and baby too, hence the diarrhoea. If they have and we catch it, then so be it. They do say it is inevitable that we will all catch it in the end. Of course I hope none of us have it and DD just has a cold!
GS1 enjoyed watching GS3 in the bath again tonight.

I always make rice pudding unless we're in the caravan, then a tin of Ambrosia is ok. I have got a couple of old-fashioned enamel bowls, but I use Pyrex ones and then just stick them in the dish washer. OH likes the skin, I don't mind either way, and Eva loves having the bowl to lick out!

Oh, Gem, I do hope DD3 and her OH haven't caught Covid, and of course the baby as well. Is it likely to cause diarrhoea in babies? Fingers crossed for you all. There are still a lot of bad colds around, so hopefully that's all it is.

Lizzie, I love semolina pudding. I make it occasionally, but OH isn't too keen. I really can't imagine adding cocoa powder to rice pudding. Some freshly grated nutmeg is nice, though.

Oma, your toaster looks very posh and space age. It sounds like a good buy. Oh dear, I'm sure you don't want another trip to the dentist! How is your gum healing up - is it ok now?

Nanto, how lovely to be able to sit in the garden with your coffee. Is it a very sheltered garden? It did warm up a bit here, and by lunch time it would have been warm enough to sit in the summerhouse, but it's full of overwintering plants at the moment!

I took Eva out about 4.30. We had a nice walk down by the river, and Eva went in for a paddle - no deep enough for swimming. I got back home about quarter to six, and it wasn't properly dark. It's great the evenings are getting lighter, it's seemed such a long winter.

                    Good morning to all.

Daisy I am loving the lighter nights.

Aquafit for me this morning. I won't be staying for coffee unless my friend has managed to get a cancellation (the class fills up so quickly every week) Our other friend is away until sometime in March.
DD and baby are coming again. She has asked if they can stay over The drive back is taking her so long each night due to teatime traffic plus roadworks. SIL will drop her at ours this morning.
Tonight I am eating out with my 2 ex work colleague friends.

                    Happy Wednesday everyone.

Daisy,we do have a sheltered spot in the garden, its a suntrap.

If i made my own rice pudding now,i would do it in the slow cooker.
There is plenty of recipes on the net, and a lot of good comments.

Sun is shining again. Yesterday was lovely.

Nanto what a pretty graphic 😁
you lucky girl getting to go to Wicks 🤣

                        Gem
I’m sure DD gets worn out with the drive and this way she gets pampered by Mum too 😀
How are they any positive results or are they ok ?

                        Daisy
My mouth is fine healed really well once those pesky stitches fell out .
I bet Eva enjoyed her paddle but it must have been freezing in the water Brrrr.

Storm will be arriving soon ready for his treats no doubt
I am determined to start on sorting the photographs today , the boxes are bought and ready and I’m going to be ruthless .
All old Holiday snaps and scenery are going ,ones we haven’t looked at in years ,
When we have gone it would be left to DD to sort and she won’t want pictures of mountains flower beds etc .
We will keep those with family and friends on but the rest are going .

The next big job will be my shoes and Handbags 😱🤣

Oma, that's a job I must do soon. As you say lots of the photos we took mean nothing to us now, let alone our kids!

Good Wednesday morning everyone, from Daisy in the Artic Circle! That's how it feels - it's -2C at the moment. At least the sun is out.

Nanto, homemade fish and chips sound just perfect! My OH has just left to go to Wickes, plus a few other places of delight, like B&Q I think. Thank goodness he didn't even suggest I go along as well, and he's kindly taken my car to get it cleaned. The man's a keeper!!

Oma, pleased to hear your mouth has healed up ok. Good luck with sorting your photos. You might have to keep reminding yourself to be ruthless! Sorting our photos will be a nightmare and I think I'll have to organise them in two lots - family and friends, and another lot for some 'proper' landscape ones. Shoes and handbags - a 10 minute job for me. I've got three handbags and a couple of little evening bags.

Gem, enjoy your aqua - I hope your friend got a place. Also your evening out, and having DD3 and baby E for a sleepover. A busy day for you.

I want to get a casserole ready for dinner tonight, and I'll take Eva out for a little walk before training class this afternoon.

I have just spent over a hour sitting on the bedroom floor sorting the photos
My hips have locked and my back is breaking but I have a huge black bin bag filled with unwanted photos ,
Still a couple of boxes to sort through but I’ve broke the camels back as the saying goes ,

I organised them into all the Grandchildren’s, Family & Friends, Old Photos Grandparents etc , and Miscallaneous.

I had bought IKEA Brown boxes so arranged them around myself so as the photos were coming out I popped them in the boxes I wanted the rest went into the bin bag ,

Im having a break before I tackle the rest 😁
