Good morning everyone.
Lizzie, I hope you find your friend on good form.
OH and I are both missing baby E's smiles and cuddles and gummy kisses this morning!
No plans today as far as I know.

Good Saturday morning everyone. It's just 1C here at the moment, but the forecast is 5-6C late this afternoon. I'd better find my bikini!
Nanto, enjoy your outing and lunch.
Gem, it will seem quiet without baby E today. I don't want to shock Oma, but we hadn't steamed our hard floors since Christmas!
Lizzie, have a nice time with your friend. She's always pleased to see you, isn't she? Thank you for the information about the boots. They sound just what I need - I'll have to have a look in the sales.
My plan for today is to do a couple of loads of washing for us, then the dog's bedding etc, and tackle the ironing pile. Such Fun! OH is going to watch a wood turning demonstration this afternoon, but nothing nice planned for me today.

Drains sorted, haven’t had the bill yet, cost £400 the last time. All the years we lived in the main bungalow and Gran in the Annexe we never had blocked drains. We have drain rods but the manhole cover is too big and heavy for Sil to lift it off. When we moved in 69 the bungalow had only just been connected to main drainage.
Oma Pleased to hear B was given the all clear and your mouth is gradually getting back to normal. Well done about the coat, I would like to go to M&S but it would mean going into the town, parking etc. so I just look on line.
Nanto, Enjoy your shop and lunch out, my OH and I always had lunch out on a Sat at various pubs when I worked all week.
Gemini, What a lovely time for you watching your little one grow up. Six months is a lovely age. Sounds like you have a lovely family holiday planned.

Oma, that coat needed a good home.
Today has been good. Bought some steak from the farm shop. Then we sat outside with a coffee.
It was lovely in the sun. Sadly, it didn't last,it clouded over and you could feel the teperature drop.
Got a few bits at the garden centre, and had a nice meal.
We did a very big shop in Asda this week. Well and truly stocked up now.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I hope the bill for the drains isn't too big Plant.
That sounds a good day Nan2.
We like egg and cress sandwiches Oma. I had avocado on toast today as we had an avocado which needed to be eaten.
I have had a lazy day. Not felt too bad most of the time, but grotty some of the time! I did a covid test and it was negative.
I made some bread this morning, in the bread maker so hardly taxing. I had long bath this afternoon and OH and I played Skip Bo. Apart from that it's been TV and reading. I joined an Art Deco group on FB so have something else to waste my time looking at!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Plant, glad to hear your drains are sorted. I hope it wasn't too expensive. I wonder if part of your drains have got blocked with tree roots over time and that's why you are having more trouble with them now. I agree about 6 months being a great baby stage.
Oma, it's funny how sometimes you see the perfect thing even though you weren't looking for it. I bet you will always love that coat. What colour is it? I haven't had an egg and cress sandwich for ages - lovely.
Gem, you've had a busy week with one thing and another, so that won't help with your cold. You needed a lazy day! I love Art Deco style.
Nanto, I bet it felt great to sit outside with your coffee. Did you buy any plants at the garden centre?
I didn't dig out my bikini (haha!) but I didn't do the ironing either - I don't want Oma worrying I'm turning into a Domestic Goddess! The temperature rose to about 6C this afternoon. I topped up the bird feeders and then decided it was warm and dry enough to do some gardening. OH had trimmed one of next door's conifers back but left all the trimmings on the patio so I cleared those up. Cut some dead wood out of a climbing rose, cut back dead leaves on a couple of helebores, swept the patio and a few other random jobs. Nearly 3 hours just sped by. I don't realise until I get out there how much I miss the garden when the weather's too bad to do anything!

No plans for today, unless things change.
Daisy,we didn't buy any plants at the garden centre.
They sell lots of other stuff. Like to get birthday cards from there, can get some a bit different.
It was quite a bit disorderly yesterday. Some of the departments were being moved around.
I noticed a sign saying new butchery department opening soon.
Next time we go,it will probably be all sorted. We like the meals they do as well.
I think dinner will baby potatoes, chicken in breadcrumbs and veg.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Morning everyone
Oma bread and a new coat , interesting combination, we usually have butter on our bread
Enjoy your Sunday lunch
Nan2 it's lovely to be able to sit outside with a cup of coffee, it's sometimes the simplest things that can bring such pleasure.
Don't have a lot planned for today apart from cooking lunch, we are having lamb shanks
On Friday it brought home to me how old age has crept up on myself and OH
Our strip light in the kitchen had blown so OH got the step ladder out of the shed and proceeded to climb up on it so that he could get the cover off so that he could remove the tube and this is when old age made its present apparent
He couldn't tilt his head upwards without feeling dizzy so we tried with him looking forwards and me giving directions from below, up a bit, to your left, down a bit, you get the idea, but that didn't work so we swapped places .
Now I'm fine with heights and don't get dizzy but .... I couldn't remove the cover from the tube because of arthritis in my hands, I couldn't get a from grip on anything.
We had to conceded defeat and ring DS to come and sort it out
It seemed to take him about 5 mins to get to us, remove the tube, go to Screw fix, get a new one and install it.
This getting old marlakely has countless disadvantages..
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning everyone.
You are putting us to shame with all that gardening Daisy. We haven't done any for months! I have now joined the Art Nouveau FB group too! I like that style even more than Deco. OH looked worried when I told her, until I assured her it wasn't things for sale
Nan2 I like garden centres too, even in winter when there are few plants to buy.
Sunday lunch out Oma, fabulous!
The bedroom smells strongly of Olbas Oil! I feel a bit more human after my morning cup of tea. We are booked to eat out tonight, just the two of us. We have a voucher for a tapas place in York that we like.
C and P are due to come for coffee on Wednesday. If my cold isn't fully gone by then they won't be as C has to avoid anyone who is ill while having the chemo.
Have a nice Sunday.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I have same problem if I look up I’m dizzy so as I have actually fallen off the ladders a couple of times I’m now banned .
I never had this trouble when I was younger.
I can’t lift heavy things or move furniture anymore , pick small things up because can’t feel my finger tips ,
Threading a sewing needle even with my glasses on is impossible because of my tremors,
The list goes on ,
I don’t think there’s a fit one amongst us oldies 🤣🤣🤣
No this getting old malarkey is nothing to brag about is it 😱😁
Gem
I love Olbas oil
Hope your well enough to enjoy your meal xxIm not fat just 6ft too small
