Lizzie, perhaps you could start a thread about this on the Christmas etc section? I'm sure everyone will be interested to hear more about December 5th in general.

Oma, lovely to hear about Finlay, he is growing up fast and getting very vocal. I have the same problem with crumbs, mainly in the cutlery drawer.

Gemini, have I missed what prize OH won. I like Chinese food, enjoy your meal

My mother used to make wonderful steamed puddings Nanto, I carried on when I had the children, my DD’s favourite was jam roly poly but baked not steamed. My GS3 is home from London for the weekend and I had a message from him that his mother has booked for us all to go to a restaurant here in the village (very expensive) so they will be picking me up just before one. No doubt my DS will be wanting to get back to watch the rugby.

Lizzie, I know I want a creamy biscuit colour but very difficult to choose from small squares on a colour chart, I really need to get to a DIY shop before the decorator wants to know.

Daisy, did Eva like her new collar? Does it shine in the dark?

Good morning everyone. It's bright and sunny here, but definitely quite chilly.

Lizzie, I'd certainly be interested to hear about your 5th December traditions and celebrations.

Gem, I should think you're very glad S's trophy isn't too big. Enjoy your Chinese tonight. Doesn't the house smell wonderful when you're baking a Christmas cake! It's made me think I ought to do the same.

Nanto, don't you just hate it when you put washing out and then have to rush to get it in again, only to find the rain has stopped and it's sunny again!

Oma, that sounds like an exciting shopping trip - bread, milk and a tool of some sort! You do know how to live it up.

Gem, I remember DIL1 trying to keep a collar on their cat and every time she (the cat) would manage to "lose" it when she went out.

Eva's new collar is a boring black, like her old one. There's not much choice in very lightweight collars with proper buckles rather than those plastic snap fasteners. We take her collar off at night so the fasteners don't seem to last - traditional buckles go on for ever. She wears a Perfect Fit harness when we go out so we never attach her collar to a lead.

In a change of plan, we're going up to see DS1 and DIL1 today. There were going to come to us, but they've spent so long in the car in the last two weeks they'd like a break from travelling. So I'd better get myself organised and ready to go.

        Have a good day everyone.

Plant, it was some prize at the golf club. We were at a prizegiving evening. OH only win one prize this year, which was a large award consisting of a golf club mounted on wood, so one to leave on display at the club! With jugs, bowl and trays etc you have the option to bring them home for a year.
          Enjoy your meal

Plant, our posts crossed. Have a lovely time at lunch today. It sounds like a very nice restaurant. Can you get some small sample pots of the colour(s) you like and try them on the walls?
No, Eva's colar doesn't shine in the dark - but she has got a day-glo lead and a hi-vis coat.

Good morning, Plant, there is an app to use on your tablet or phone, just take a photo of your kitchen then choose the colour(s). I used it to decide on the colour on the wall in here.

Gem, I will do that later on. Yes, what with the dark, rain and cyclists, awful driving at that time of the evening. Enjoy your meal this evening.

It is very cold here 2 degrees!

Oma, you need eyes in the back of your head at the roundabouts, the problem is...... the cyclists are always in the right!

Yes, it is good to know that children settle in at a new school. She was telling me they are going to jumpXL (trampoline hall) on Tuesday then to McDonalds on their way back, they are going on their bikes, it is in Zoetermeer.

I have been to the charity shop, DS1 and DIL had a pile of coats, shoes etc sorted so I said I would take them this morning, I did have a reason to go! I have just made my neighbour a happy woman, when I was at the charity shop the other day I saw a poncho style cape thing, my favourite make so I tried it on, it was cashmere/wool, I decided I have enough coats so didn't bother, I was telling Marianne and she asked if I hadn't thought of her? No, I hadn't. As I had to go to take a lot this morning I decided to get it for her if it was still there, it was and she is so pleased, it is brand new, never been worn and she loves it.

I will put one of my warm coats on and have a walk to the village, it will be busy as Sint Nicholaas arrives in the village today, the one in the next village arrived with 20 degrees last week, much colder for them today.

I will try that Lizzie, not sure if I have that app. Daisy I am intending to go down to the DIY shops tomorrow and get some samples, I am not good at carrying colours in my head.

Oma, i wasn't looking in the Range for anything special, just had a browse.
Bought chocolate and sweets in B&M.
Then across the road to Asda. We were home for 11.

Daisy, i was glad i didn't put my washing out,it was raining when we came out of the supermarket.

Plant and Gem, hope you both enjoy your meals out.

We are still locally having problems with BBand it keeps going down Openreach are having new connections put up from Monday so lets hope it solves the problem when you loose connections you feel as though your right arm has been cut off for a while.

Oliver has decided he is staying indoors due to the cold nights he is making himself comphy on the bottom of my bed something he has never done before this cat can really snore for England he is so loud.

Problems with my cooker, the oven is not working properly the fan has given up on me for some reason its a good job its a double oven model and I can use the top compartment it needs a new element fitting so I will have to get one ordered as I am in charge of cooking the meats for xmas why do things like this always happen just before busy times.

Not raining at the moment, unfortunately there is more to come over the next few days.

Don't think much is happening today. One job for me is ironing.

Daisy, that was a long day for you yesterday.

Good morning, we have had a keen frost, it was a really cold wind yesterday so it was forecast. I want to go to the Lidl at 10am for a few things, I had a box yesterday so I don't want much today.

                                Good morning

Glamma, I'm sorry to hear you are in such pain. I hope you get an MRI date soon.

Brrr, frost already Lizzie! It felt very cold here last night, but no frost so far.

Daisy, how nice to have a long day with DS and DIL.

Ironing will at least keep you warm Nan2!

Friends are coming for lunch. One vegetarian, the other very fussy. There are so many foods the fussy friend won't eat , but she will eat rice and likes Chinese food. So, we are having the Quorn sweet and sour dish which we had recently with some other friends. As this is OH's speciality and I have defrosted an apple crumble I made last week, no cooking for me today 😊 That does leave me with the hoovering etc however....

                                Have a good Sunday everyone.
