Gem, I can imagine how you felt! It's a big thing when they walk out of school all on their own (or with friends, rather than a responsible grown-up) and you worry about getting held up. I'm so glad you made it in good time.. Big 'well done' to S - I'm sure the Prosseco and chocs were very welcome. xx

Good morning,
Daisy, I had a long walk instead in the morning then in the afternoon I went on the bike to a charity shop, a friend helps there and I heard from her son that she had a nasty fall in the summer, she is in her 80's, she broke almost all she could break and she was in a really bad way. I walked into the shop yesterday and heard her voice!! She was helping again, it was the first time, her neck isn't right and she doubts if it ever will be , as she puts it, all nuts and bolts! I don't think anyone expected her to be helping again.
Gem, you would be worried that you would be late for GS1. Well done S on winning the prizes.
Oma, yes, I can understand you hearing the noise from the loft, you never seem to know exactly where to look, well, that is my excuse. The girls had Furbys in the cupboard here, each time I opened the door the ##### things would start moving etc so I had to take the batteries out!

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.
Nanto, no rain here at the moment either, but I think it's due later. Your understairs cupboard will feel like a new room!
Gem, what a pity S did too well to get the prize she really wanted. I must admit, I love Christmas pudding as well.
Lizzie, what a wonderful surprise to hear your friends voice in the charity shop. She must have had a long road to recovery after such a nasty accident. Well done to her - I'm sure she used lots of determination to recover so well.
I've just got the Sainsbury's order put away and the fridge tidied up. I've put some liver in the oven to cook for treats for Eva, and washed up various odds and ends that won't go in the dishwasher. It's dog training this afternoon but I must try and take her out for a walk first.
Back later.

Afternoon ( just ) ladies
Went to MILs this morning as tomorrow I have haircut.
She was in a remarkable good mood for a change , so much so that we stayed a lot longer than we usually do π
Took her 2 Lamb hot pots , A BBQ chicken with veg , A Savoury mince with dumplings and veg ,
2 Apple Charlottes and Two Rhubarb steamed puddings
So plenty in the freezer to keep her going for a few days .
Gem
That panic of thinking you wonβt make it is awful isnβt it ,
GS is a sensible boy though he would know you wouldnβt be long.
I would tell the boys to go back in school if ever we were late till we got there ,
Never had too thank goodness , but they knew just in case .
Im with S I would rather have the Xmas pud π
Daisy
hope dog training goes well and no dramas with naughty dogs today x
Lizzie
Your poor friend it must have been a very nasty fall ,
Good for her getting back to normal .
Nanto
Good everything is sorted, getting under stairs cupboard painted is a good excuse to sort it out too .
Going to make some lunch and decide what to do for tea .Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, the friend was in a shopping centre, wearing new shoes and she just seemed to fall forward, her son went to see if she had fallen over something but no, nothing, she said the sole of her shoe just seemed to stick to the floor and down she went. She has done really well, she must be 83 years old, I worked with her DH a few years.

Oma, what delicious meals for Mil, how do you deliver such a variety. Pleased she was in a better mood.
Daisy, I hope there are no naughty dogs today.
Lizzie, what a remarkable lady to recover enough to get back to helping in the charity shop.
Nanto, well done OH for painting the under stairs cupboard, it will be nice and tidy when it is finished.
WI this morning, interesting talk about Andrew Carnegie. The football club where we meet was getting organised for the World Cup, we decided not to meet next month as the venue will probably stink of beer and be in a right mess. Those of us that want to will meet at the golf club for a coffee. Games afternoon for me today.
Gemini, well done S for winning the prize, I will take the Prosecco off her hands and make her a Christmas pudding. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

we make the meals put them in tin foil containers and freeze them always make one fresh meal the night before so she has one already to eat and the rest to go in the freezer ,
Today she will have mince and dumplings for tea with veg , we try to do different veg with each meal at least then we know sheβs getting nutritional meals ,
I think your right about the football club next month as there will no doubt be lots of drinks flowing .
Lizzie
Its easily done, your foot seems to stick your still going forward but your foot isnβt , poor lady must have been quite a shock .
Mylittle Great Nephew Archie is two and yesterday he was at soft play ,
Fell off a bouncy ball pit and fractured his elbow .
Hes now in a L shaped cast from his armpit to his wrist ,
My nephew said he slept well but was whimpering in his sleep .
They had to take him back this morning to have the cast checked in case of swelling ,
My nephew said he was very brave and so was Archie πππYou do not have permission to view this gallery.

Poor little Archie Oma!
Plant , I think missing next months meeting at that venue is a good idea.
Lizzie I'm glad that lady didn't hurt herself.
OH met us at the leisure centre for coffee after our class today as she was at the NHS department for blood taking.
Tesco delivery due later this afternoon. Is wet and miserable now after a fine morning.βA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown

Oma, poor little Archie. At least at that age fractures heal very quickly, but he must be feeling uncomfortable. Brave Daddy! You could open a restaurant with the meals you take to MIL's. How lovely she was in a good mood today.
Nanto, our under stairs cupboard is really useful. It was here when we moved into the house, we just had to put some shelves up. I don't think we've ever decorated it, but we do clean it out sometimes.
Lizzie, it's amazing how much damage you can do with what looks like a simple fall.
Plant, I should think the talk about Andrew Carnegie was very interesting. Did you enjoy your games afternoon?
I hadn't thought about the football clubs televising the World Cup. I suppose a lot of pubs will be doing the same.
The weather this afternoon was horrible - pouring rain and it was dark by 4 o'clock. It was no fun driving back from dog training! The naughty dog wasn't there today. Eva was great - did everything well and had fun as well.
