We went to the Cenotaph this morning after being at DDs ,
DD went to the one in our Village ,we went to a one a little further off as it was near Morrisons and we wanted to go there so easier to go to that service .
They had to close the street as hundreds turned up .
My Nephew who is in the Army attended the parade in our city centre

We came home and watched the March past on TV .

Hello everyone. I'm late to the party today. We went out early to meet up with Cooper and his family for a good run in the paddock. The sun was just about peeping through the clouds and the forest was sparkling with a heavy dew. It looked like a fairy-tale landscape.

We spent a couple of hours strolling round and chatting. GD1 wanted to run (she does cross country at school) so she kept doing laps of the paddock with breaks to play on the swing with GD2. Then GD2 climbed a tree and couldn't get down! Meanwhile to dogs were tearing round, with Eva barking her head off because she was over-excited.

We got back about half an hour ago, both exhausted! Still it was lovely and good fun. We usually watch the service at the Cenotaph, but didn't get back in time today.

Plant, enjoy your lunch. I'm always amazed by the precision and discipline of the uniformed services - everything is absolutely perfect and they are such a credit to our country.

Gem, it must seem like ages for your DD1 waiting for her hospital appointment. I'm sure it will help to take her mind off things coming over to you for tea, and GS1 will be delighted. Poor DD3 as well, everything happens at once. I hope her period isn't too bad and she gets back into a rhythm with them. Today's golf sounds like a nice occasion for S. It's good to have your work and efforts noticed.

Oma, I had to smile! I know you don't drink, but just imagine if you had tried the diffusers thinking they were Mulled Wine, etc!! Still your DD will enjoy them as diffusers I'm sure.

Nanto and Oma, it's funny how some people welcome unexpected visitor and others like "appointments". I always think if someone arrives unexpectedly, it's great to see them and they take us as they find us, but other people like to have everything just so and would feel embarrassed if things weren't as they like them. But, Oma, if your B can't stand this SIL I imagine there's a very good reason for it!

My sister in law is a take us how you find us person.
The reason we made an appointment was so we could go when her hubby wasn't at work.
Anyway,we had a lovely catch up.

B has never liked his sister she is bossy and opinionated, not as bad as his mother but very much like her .
There is only 1 year between them but even as children they didn’t get on .
I suppose just because you are related doesn’t mean you have to love each other 😂

Didn't have a good night last night, so this morning was a bit of a write off. I sat and watched the cricket from Melbourne and felt nostalgic! Finally got washed and dressed and went to the Mind,Body and Soul show in the next village. It was interesting how many tarot card readers there were but no palm readers. I suppose Covid put paid to that. Had chats with lots of lovely people and bought a few bits and pieces. As it was such a lovely afternoon I went for a walk and sat in the church for a while with my thoughts.

Made some mini banana loaves which I took to DD's. Didn't need to take anything as she'd made a yummy dinner. In fact I got a doggy bag for a meal tomorrow!

Message from painter, they're coming on Wednesday!!! Yikes! Luckily I know what colours I'd like so I don't have to panic about that. It'll be moving the stuff in the lounge that'll take time. Hopefully it can all get moved to the middle of the room and they can work round it. JL rang to say that my bedroom curtain material has failed their testing, so they've ordered a new lot and it all should be done within their estimated time frame.

It was quite foggy driving home from DD's and I was glad I didn't have too far to drive.

I've still got an accent, but it is much less obvious than when I first moved here. But when I've been home, no one can understand me. It's so easy to switch into broad Scots!

            Night night ladies xx

WG, a busy time ahead for you this week.

I expected it to be foggy again this morning, but its clear.

Not much happening today for us,unless things change.

Good morning Nan2. We still have the fog, hopefully it will clear here too.
                Good morning everyone.

I was to have my monthly reflexology treatment this morning but my reflexologist's MIL is very poorly in hospital so she had to cancel.
This afternoon I am going to see my auntie. Just me as OH is meeting the friend that she was supposed to meet for lunch last week but there was confusion over the dates. The drive to auntie's is out of my comfort zone (long winding country roads, hills etc) I will go early afternoon so I can do the majority of the drive home before dark. It was so much easier when she lived 2 miles down the road!
SIL takes his car to service not far from us so is coming to work here for a few hours whist it is in the garage.

                Have good day ladies.

                  Gem
When I was driving that’s one thing I dreaded along with fog was night driving I hated it I had night blindness .
Hope your Aunt is well how old is she now ?

SIL must be pleased he can come work at yours and not have to go home then come back again for car .

                  WG
your going to havea busy week ,
Its one step closer to getting the house how you want it though ,

                  Nanto
Enjoy your easy days , it must still be strange not having to go to in laws though , I bet some days you wonder how you fitted it all in 😁

Nothing to do here either , everything clean no ironing no shopping to do,
To be honest I’m a bit lost what to do.

Oma, Auntie G will be 94 in December.
Yes, it's almost an hour round trip home for him, so SIL is very glad to have our house to use

I hope you find something to do Oma. How about writing a story for the Story Challenge? Or set up a new challenge if that one doesn't grab you?
You could write your Christmas cards too

Good Monday morning everyone. Here we are at the beginning of another week - I wonder what it will bring?

No fog here, but everywhere is heavy with dew - typical autumn weather but still very mild.

WeeGranny, I hope you slept better last night and are all geared up for your busy week. It will be lovely to get that decorating done, but take care with moving furniture around. I wonder what was wrong with the curtain material? Still, better to be told now than when you get the curtains!

Nanto, thank you for the nice autumnal graphic this morning. It's good to have some days where you can go with the flow!

Oma, yes, as Gem suggests a story for the Story Challenge would be great. You've written some excellent ones in the past. I came across a Christmas story I'd started several years ago yesterday. Reading it through I wondered why I'd never finished it. Then I realised - I couldn't think of an ending for it!

Gem, I'm sure your Auntie will be delighted to see you. Take care driving home though. I think it's good for us to sometimes face 'difficult' drives. The thing I don't like is city driving when I don't know the way.

I've got plenty to do today, but it will really depend on the weather. If the ground dries up a bit it's gardening, if it doesn't it's housework. You can guess which I'm hoping for!

Good morning, we have had the first frost. It was really cold when I went to the gym but the sun is out now so much warmer.

I went to visit my friend yesterday, it was quite busy as most people visit on a Sunday, my friend told me she liked my hair shorter, I think I heard it 10 times!

WG. Watch what you are going with the furniture. I speak from experience!

Oma, I bet you find something to do!

Gem, be careful driving, I am not keen on strange roads in the dark, saying that, it is never dark here!

Have you read about Jonnie Irwin from Escape to the country, so young, poor man and his young family.

Oma, it upset me reading it, 3 young boys growing up without knowing their father, his poor wife. Lets hope he can do what he says and live with his cancer!

I didn’t know about this, very sad.

I have stripped the bed and am now resting, I really need to change the size of my bed, it is a 5’5” . I might go and see what is available. I don’t want a single one. Had a nice day yesterday, went in next door for a lovely roast dinner, GS1 and his family were there and H. Not going to do much today. Very gloomy weather. I received a cheque from the local lottery today for £10, I shall return it in some way, their need is greater than mine.

Gemini, I hope your drive isn’t too difficult, I am sure your aunt will be pleased to see you.

WG, I hope you had a better night. As the others have said, be careful moving furniture.

Daisy, what a wonderful place you live, may it never be spoiled. Eva is lucky having good walks there.
