Plant, I am going to the island in Zeeland for a few days, where I went last year, then, at the end of June to the UK, or earlier, we are still waiting for a date for the school musical. I hope you enjoy your few days away.xxx

Gem, I always understood that rhubarb grows like weeds!!!! That must be with the Yorkshire soil!!!

Thanks Nanto, I hope to enjoy myself, I can occupy myself, which is a good thing, at times. You must have a lot in the freezers, I just have one very small part in the fridge, I think it is 17 ltr, I remember getting rid of my standing freezer when this kitchen was fitted, almost 17 years ago now, my friend and neighbour at the time said I would miss it, I never have at all.

Plant that is an advantage of my mum's changed awareness. Not only would she not remember which day to expect me, she wouldn't know what day it actually was.
GS's school is very close to where mum is so it makes sense as I don't have GD to collect today. Her school is further away and she finishes at 2.30 so it doesn't fit in to see mum when I do the double school run.

Hello - I'm too late to say Good Morning, thanks to the blip, which seems to be sorted now, thank goodness.

I'm trying to get some plants planted up - this week has been hectic and today is the first chance. I'll pop back later, but hope Plant and Lizzie enjoy their breaks. Fingers crossed for good weather for both of you. x

I remember my dad growing rhubarb under a bucket with no bottom to encourage the shoots to grow. When Mum died he took the rhubarb to the bakers who made tarts with it and he used to get a couple. He used to love rhubarb and ginger jam.

My kitchen island arrived this afternoon and I'm really pleased with it. The men who brought it took one look at my splint and said they'd unpack it for me as it was too heavy for me to do myself. They even took all the packaging away with them. I did appreciate the gesture. House is beginning to look a lot less like a bombsite!

I eventually found the iron the other day after emptying three boxes. Sadly however, I found it really hurt my wrist, so I've had to give it up for the time being. I noticed an ad for an Ironing fairy in the shop so I might give her a call and get it done.

I've just gone and booked a holiday in Italy for later in the year. It was a bit nerve wracking sorting it out, but I've done it now! It's a tour of the Amalfi coast and there are three excursions included and a couple of free days. It'll be strange going on an organised holiday because we've always done our own thing, but I don't feel brave enough to do that yet.

Plant, have a lovely break. I hope the weather is kind to you. I found the farm shop when I was out walking this afternoon. lots of strawberry plant in flower!

              Lizzie, enjoy your break too!

              Enjoy your evening ladies xx

Oma - it's music to my ears when you say you've sat around all day. It's time you relaxed and put your feet up a bit.

WeeGranny - it's great to hear how your new home is coming together. How kind of the men to unpack and take away the packing for you, although I'm sorry to hear your wrist is still painful. Do you have to go back to the hospital/doctor at some point? Well done on booking a holiday. It sounds as though you've chosen the right type of holiday, for this year at least.

It's been mostly sunny here, but there was a chill wind at times. I got most of the plants done, but ran out of time.

WG, it sounds like you are making the house into your home.
Good for you booking a holiday.

I had a couple of hours doing housework while hubby was out this morning.
Washed all the downstairs radiators amongst other jobs.

WG, how kind f the delivery men to unpack and take away the packing for you. When will you be seeing a medic about your wrist? The farm shop do pick your own in the summer. They have also built an enormous barn restaurant, I had lunch there the other day. We shall have to try it. Have you heard the family yet?

I am almost ready for my DD to take me and a friend to catch the coach. Weather sounds very mixed for next week, umbrella and mac packed. GD2 and partner are here for the weekend, shame I am going to miss their visit.

Oma, you are probably still suffering fatigue from the Covid infection, pleased you listened to your body and rested. You certainly keep B busy, he has only just finished the stairs. Are you hoping to get away soon?

Good morning everyone, a bright sunny one where I am.

                              Plant and Lizzie, happy holidays!

Nan2, our Range is just down the road from Asda. I love a trip there once in a while. Good luck to your GD!

WG, take care of that wrist. Hiring the services of the ironing fairy sounds an excellent idea. good for you booking the holiday. We are all proud of you. you know.

I can see you are keeping B busy with all that painting Oma

My mum was very tired yesterday. She was deeply asleep when I arrived which has never happened before, and was sleepy most of my visit. She was contented though and certainly made short work of the bun I took her.

It is DD3's baby shower this afternoon, then we are going round to DD1's for a while. I am very excited to see DD3's best friend who lives in Bath. She was like a daughter to my ex and me when her own dad (who she lived with) died when she was in her teens. It's a couple of years since we have met up. Also DDs3's author friend who lives in Edinburgh. I haven't seen her for several years, and never even met her wife. Lots of catch ups!

Have a good Saturday whatever it holds.
