Good morning (or now afternoon!) one and all.

The whirlwind in the Daisy domain has finally settled - groceries delivered and put away, new mattress installed, bins dealt with, quick chat and coffee with a neighbour, now thinking I need to get lunch so I can take Eva out for a good long walk afterwards. OH is going out about 5 o'clock so don't want to leave it too late.

Nanto - that's a 'comfort food and drink' graphic - lovely.

Plant - I'm so sorry you were poorly yesterday. I think you probably need a bit of a rest - you've had such a lot going on (even nice things can be tiring) and I know you are bothered by your hand. Everything takes its toll, doesn't it. Take care and let the family pamper you a bit. xx We bought new 'stacking' beds for the bedroom the GCs use and I was very worried in case I'd made a bad choice, but the were exactly as described and what we wanted. I bought the mattresses separately. If you know what you want it might be worth at least doing some online browsing first to see what's out there. I know it's hard changing a big bed on your own, and if you're happy with a single it would make things much easier for you.

Gem - I hope the weather is as nice for you today as it is here. Enjoy your day out. After yesterday's worries it will be good to relax and enjoy yourselves. Even better if it's all free. xx

Lizzie - the rules for passports here seem to change regularly. Currently they are "have a plain expression and your mouth closed" - plus things like eyes open, no hair in the way, no shadows on your face or behind. The glasses instructions are "do not wear them unless you have to" - the killer there is they must not have any reflections, glare or shadow. My passport photo is so awful that they're very happy to get me out of the country but I worry that they might not let me back in, I look like an escaped criminal!

Oma - I hope your bar stools arrive ok today. The mattress on our spare bed was originally bought for our bed, but after 3 nights of no sleep it had to go! OH thought it was brilliant and very comfy, and I'm so glad you and B did. But I couldn't get comfortable at all. I hope the new one is ok, because we bought it without trying it first!

Right, I must get on with lunch, or else Eva will only get a quick trip round the block! See you later.

Very nice stools Oma, like the colour. I am sure my blood pressure was dropping but only because I was about to be sick, bowl at the ready. I think I have tracked it down to the end of a carton of Oat Milk, I don’t drink it fast enough. Tummy not good today, just popped to M&S Food Hall for some soup and Pets at Home for some bird feed. Felt whacked when I got home. Don’t fancy anything really.

Just ordered flowers for my sister’s funeral next Friday, It is a Catholic Church service followed by a burial. We are not going to go back to the house as we are worried about mixing, it is a very small bungalow.

I don't blame you not going back to the house , Who will go with you ?

Have a quiet day tomorrow let yourself relax and heal xxx

Plant - no wonder you feel a bit 'delicate' today. Enjoy the soup. I find the birds are really hungry at the moment with these cold nights. I'm sure it's for the best, not going back to the bungalow after your sister's funeral. xx

Oma - the bar stools look nice in the photo, and very stable and comfortable. You and B will be propping up the bar every day on those!

It was a bright sunny afternoon, and not quite so cold, so I took Eva for a long walk in the Forest. It was very busy with lots of other dog walkers out and about. But she was very good - until we saw our neighbour with Missy! Then she wanted to play! OH is out tonight and I'm still trying to decide what to have for dinner. Can't decide!

Plant, it may take a day or two to feel right, do take care of yourself. I'm glad you phoned your son to come over.

Oma the description of your and B's passport photos are hilarious

Daisy GD and GS2's passport photos were just sent back for having too much shade or something. Luckily the second ones have just been approved.

We had a lovely brunch, walk through town and look around the art gallery. We forgot to take the contract and transfer forms to drop into the solicitors office We will drive into town tomorrow and OH can hover in the car while I drop them through the letterbox.

GC both fine and happy. DD told me that GD has started her periods, bless her.
I think at 12 most girls feel ready though. I was nearly 13 and scared of being left behind for some reason!

Gem - GD and GS2 are in good company - lots of passport photos get rejected. It's not always easy to avoid shadows. So glad you enjoyed your brunch. That's one of my favourite things to do in America, there's so much choice. Fancy forgetting the contract etc, but easily done, especially if you're going on a bus rather than in the car. I hope GD is ok and doesn't get any tummy aches with her periods. She's growing up fast!

Foggy and frosty this morning, although fog is clearing now.
Going to Wakefield today, will dine in our favourite cafe there.
So, supermarket shopping will be in Sainsburys.

Checked in with GD1 last night. She saw the midwife on Wednesday and all is well.
GD2 is now living with her partner. We are going to see them on Monday.
They are renting, while they save up for a house of their own.

Gem, your GD is now at the stage where i think thats when you know they are growing up.
                          Hope she is ok.

Good morning, nan, we have had the fog for 4 days now. Enjoy your lunch out, the shops are opening today, sport school etc but the restaurants not allowed to open yet.

Gem, yes, our little grand babies soon grow up! I am pleased you enjoyed the brunch in town.

When I applied for a passport, I had to do it online, they wouldn't accept any of the pass photo's I had so I had to take a photo of myself, here in the room with a plain background, the worst of them all was accepted!!!

Plant, I hope you are feeling better now, I was talking to my next door neighbour, she is my age and had a brain haemorrhage a few years ago, she hasn't been well since her booster in December, pains in her chest, short of breath etc. She has phoned the surgery and they told her to see how she feels next week.

I hope to get for my eggs today, I will see if the fog clears.

Good Saturday morning early birds and all who drop by later. It's cold but sunny here. I hope it warms up a bit for later.

The first night with our new mattress was mixed! OH loved it, slept like a log (if logs can snore) right in the middle of the bed! I hardly slept at all, ache all over and feel tired and grumpy. I'm going to bed in hobnailed boots tonight, I've warned him!

I'm taking Eva on a group dog walk with our trainer. She used to do this last summer in the evenings when we were allowed to meet outdoors, but it's not practical to do it in the dark. So she's trying out Saturday lunch-times to see if there's enough demand. We walk in a very quiet part of the Forest - lovely.

Plant - I do hoe you are feeling better today, but take it easy.

Lizzie - I'm sure everyone is pleased and relieved that shops etc are opening up again for you. I hope the fog lifts as well. Your poor neighbour - I would have thought with shortness of breath, the doctor would want to see her asap. It's not something to ignore.

Nanto - enjoy your lunch at your favourite cafe, and your shopping. So glad to hear GD1 is doing well It's exciting, isn't it. It's hard for youngsters these days to save for a deposit on a house - good luck to your GD2 and her partner.

Good morning Nan2, Lizzie, ladies who follow.

The fog is with us too! It looks Icey too, as it was when we set out yesterday morning.

Nan2, lovely news that all is well with your GD1's baby. I bet GD2 and her partner are excited about moving in together.

Lizzie, it's terrible the way they tell people like that lady to see how they feel next week. We will be doing our own operations next I swear!
I have to say that on Thursday my mammogram experience was quick and efficient. Almost no waiting, and staff very kind and friendly, which hasn't always been the case.

No plans today apart from dropping the papers in at the solicitors. As they are closed all weekend we could just as well do it on Sunday, so we shall see.

Have nice day ladies. No slipping when you go out!
