A very quiet New Years Day. I stayed up last night but only because there were so many fireworks it was pointless going to bed. I stood out in the garden and watched them. GS is doing well, he feels fine and is counting down to when his isolation finishes. I will be pleased too, I haven’t seen or spoken to anyone since Boxing Day so will be pleased to be able to see them again. Both DD and SIL are ok, testing every day and negative.

I Have given myself a good talking too and am really going to make the effort to get out when I can this year, must get used to going places on my own. It’s just too easy to stay in. I did go out for a walk this morning, got caught in the rain coming home but felt better for it.

Lizzie - what rude, unpleasant brats, talking to you like that. Sooner or later they'll work out it doesn't get them anywhere, except into trouble, but still not nice to hear. Good for you for telling them off. If more people did that it might have more impact on the little horrors.

Plant - it would have been all the same if you'd fancied a day in bed - your GCs would have been round making you drinks, meals etc. It's lovely that they are all so caring.

Enfys - I'm pleased to hear your GS is doing well and your DD and SIL are ok. Good for you for going for a walk this morning - I know what you mean - you don't feel much like going out but when you do you feel better for it. When things are a bit calmer perhaps we can meet up for lunch? It would be lovely to see you.

Mimi - good for your DD, leaving her decorations up till Twelfth Night. I always used to do that, but sometimes it was already back at college, and would have to leave them until the following week-end, so now I aim for the 2nd or 3 January.

Oma - we get the New Year's Day crowds on the beaches, and in the Forest, and with it being week-end and Monday a Bank Holiday it will be busy until the 4th, when most of the schools seem to go back.

I haven't done much today. Watched some tv, read a bit, made some phone calls - nothing much. Eva has been really tired after yesterday, and hasn't even asked for a walk. I'll make up for it tomorrow.

Good morning, Daisy, that is exactly what I told them, in fact I told them they would end up getting their faces slapped (or more) ! I was almost there. DS1 phoned last night and I was telling him about it, he said GD2 has football matches against older girls out of the towns and it surprises him what comes out of their mouths. Disgusting behaviour, he said the parents are not bothered at all.

          Had rain this morning.

Lizzie, i wonder the girls parents would think about them using language like that.

Back to normal days now.Yesterday felt like sunday to me.
Don't know why. We did the supermarket shopping like we always do on a saturday.
Decorations were all packed away yesterday.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

            Morning Nanto ,
I am all mixed with days too , I had to look at my phone to see what day it was

Lizzie young girls have dirtier mouths than boys these days and it’s like normal language to some ,
they also have no respect but who is to blame I wonder ,
Do they have no parental guidance or do we blame it on what they watch and listen too ? Some song have disgusting lyrics and some things they watch especially on YouTube is a hairs breadth away from porn .

Plant your GC love you very much they are such lovely young people , you will never be alone with them around , How are the little people ? Bet they growing fast .

Enfys it’s hard to push yourself but those first steps out on your own will do you good ,
Your right it’s easier to stay in but think what you could be missing
Pleased to hear GS is feeling better ,
My Nieces , Nephews. Etc who have it all seem to be getting better .

Daisy I’m not surprised you are feeling tired it’s been a busy holiday season in the Daisy household , I am sure Eva won’t mind not having a walk for once

Gem how are you two Is it back to normal today , has S got golf ? How is DD feeling is she still ok xx

I was up early this morning , potted on then had breakfast myself and Storm had toast , well he had his and most of mine

Then after had my shower I took him out for his walk ,
He is such a good dog no pulling and does as he is told ,
my back and hips are killing but it was nice to get out just as it was getting light , so quiet and no cars around .

came back cooked him chicken to go with his rice for lunch , now I’m having a sit down and a potter on here ,

Have a good day ladies xxx

              Good morning everyone.

Nan2, that's what I said yesterday, it felt like Sunday! And now it IS Sunday
I think you and Eva needed that quiet day Daisy!
It was a drop in day for you Plant! I hope you have a good day today.
Enfys, you have given me an idea for a thread.

No plans today, a go with the flow day. Next week is back to school runs, library volunteering and weekly (at least) visits to mum, so I am enjoying the relaxing days.

              Have a good day everyone.

                Our posts crossed Oma
Regular golf for OH next week Tuesday and Thursday and she has just been invited to play on Friday as well. DD feeling OK, a bit tired still and feeling slightly sick but hasn't really been sick.
Was Storm a good boy on his sleepover?!

Good Sunday morning everyone. I had to check what day of the week it is, as well! We've got a bit of hazy sun and this morning is forecast to be dry.

We'll pack the Christmas decorations away today, and try not to leave one or two stray bits and pieces which never get spotted until the boxes have gone up in the loft! Does anyone else have that problem?

Gem, enjoy your go with the flow day today. DD3is doing well. Hopefully the slight sick feeling will soon stop.

Oma - Storm is such a good boy and great that he walks so well on a lead. I wish Eva did - and it's not for want of us trying.

Nanto - I wondered about the parents of those girls who were so rude to Lizzie.

Ladies, I am still wondering how children? that is what they were. could get to hear language like that, my father would have called them " dockers"! Oma, I do think YouTube and all social media have to lot to do with it all.

DS1 is dropping GD2 off soon, she wants to spend the day here, nice!

It is very warm, windy and sunny, my washing has dried already out on the line.

I think we are all mixed up with our days.

I have treated myself to new Sloggi pants!!!! The ones I am wearing are a bit wide, so, I thought I would go to the Makro as they are in the folder then I looked at the Sloggi site and they are cheaper there in the sale so I have ordered them.

Enfys, I can fully understand how you feel. It does take a while to venture into places alone but in time you will feel confident to visit places. I am quite happy to visit NT houses alone and often lunch out by myself, I am a people watcher.

I am finding it impossible to sort out which day it is, I thought it was Monday yesterday Gemini and wondered why the television programmes were different to my Radio Times. Your pictures of your NY Eve party were good, you were having a good time. You have some lovely friends.

Daisy, I haven’t got around to reading your latest story, how you find the time baffles me. Eva must be very tired not wanting a walk.

Lizzie, what a dreadful group of young girls, you were right to tell them off. How lovely that your GD wants to spend the day with you. I love Sloggie pants but they are very expensive, I wish I was buying a smaller pair like you, the Christmas spirit has left its mark.

Oma, I am sure you will love to have Storm staying with you, I wish I had a dog to come to stay, the family are going to get another in the Spring but it will always be a Golden Retriever. Sil has given in his notice to retire and he is looking forward to getting another dog. I expect Storm is getting a lot of treats and fuss. Does he sleep well at your house?

Dil just phoned to say they were having lunch at 2 so I will get there at 1pm, I am told there is champagne on ice, is the celebrating New Year never going to end. Have a good day all, now I am off to read Daisy’s story.

Had a good clean up today. Only managed a quick tidy yesterday with having visitors for dinner.
All done now. Rest of the day should be easy.

                        Plant,enjoy your meal with family.

                            Oma, you spoil GS1!

GD2 has just gone home, we had a delicious lunch, scrambled egg with smoked salmon! We went for a walk and met my neighbour when we got back, she was just coming up here with her son to tell me she is going into a home on Wednesday, she has alzeimers and it is getting worse, this room came up and they had to decide, her son said it was a difficult decision, she now has her own room with a bathroom, if they wait she could get one with a shared bathroom or even further away. This one is about 8kms away, her brother in law has been in there a few months and a lady she knows from the day care is there as well so she will at least "know" them. It is upsetting, I have known her a long time and she came to live in the flat 16 years ago.

When we got home GD2 and I were discussing serial killers!!

I was just talking to my young neighbour, he is a teacher and I was telling him about those young girls yesterday, he said they get it from their parents, he works at a school near Den Haag, the worst part of Den Haag, the things he witnesses are unbelievable.

Plant, champagne on ice, that's the life! I hope you enjoy your day.
Oma, you have given GS good advice there!
Lizzie, your lunch is what we have for Christmas Day breakfast I think it's lovely that your GD loves spending time with you.
Did you get your decorations put away Daisy?

After a sunny morning it became very dark, miserable and rainy here. I am glad of the Christmas lights on these dark days. I think I will find it hard to put them away!

I have just phoned my BIL, he has been up in Alnwick for Christmas and is thinking of moving up there, his DS1 has a large family round him and they will all be there for him, he hasn't seen his DIL2 since my sister died. He said she has her own family, I told him he is her family as well. They only live a 15 minute drive away.
