Happy New Year from me as well.
The sun is greeting the New Year here - lovely to see and hopefully there will be more to come.
A lazy day for us, and tomorrow I'll take the decorations and everything down.
I hope everyone is ok and enjoying whatever they are doing today. xx

Good morning and HAPPY NEW YEAR dear friends!
A late start as we didn't get to bed until 3 and I always read before sleep.
It is wonderfully bright and sunny here
Nothing planned. After-party clear up, and watch some of lasts night's TV maybe. We would like to go to the coast but I think today will be very busy.
I hope today is the first of many positive ones for us all.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem - I think it will be busy round here as well as people make the most of the long week-end before going back to work on Tuesday. One of the good things about being retired is being able to save trips out for quieter times and not having to cram everything into a bank holiday week-end.

Good morning everyone and a Happy New year. I hope any planned celebrations went well.
We were in bed by half 11 but we were still awake to 'see' in the new year. There were lots of fireworks going on outside. I got out of bed and watched the display from the bedroom.
Thank you admin for the lovely new year email.
We aren't taking down the decs just yet as DD , SIL and youngest GS's are visiting again tomorrow and the little ones still like to see the lights etc . DD is a traditionalist , she never takes down the decs till 12th night, we tend to do them when the mood takes us . I think the mood might take us on Monday!
Enjoy the rest of the day everyoneBring me sunshine in your smile.

We are all done and back to normal ,
only thing I have to do now is wash the floors , but as Storm is having a sleep over tonight I will wait till he has gone back home .
We had one little display of fireworks that lasted about 15 minutes it was very quiet around here
A walk along the beach would be lovely but it seems to be a tradition around our way for everyone and his dog to go to the beach on New Year’s Day
Its the same every year .

Happy New Year to all you lovely ladies!
Thank you for all your support over the past year. Hopefully 2022 will be a much better one for all of us.
No chance of sleeping round here last night. Fireworks started just after 6 and went on into the sma' hours. Just got quiet then another lot would start up. I don't mind fireworks but they seem to have really loud bangs these days. Maybe I'm just getting old!
Took advantage of the lovely sunshine this morning and had a long walk. Don't intend doing very much for the rest of the day. DS in bath and we'll have dinner when we fancy it. Steak pie and tatties......a Scottish New Year's day dinner. There's trifle for afters and a bottle pf fizz chilling in the fridge.
Enjoy the rest of the day ladies and lang mae yur lum reek! xxBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

New years day isn't usually busy for us,but it was today.
Went to the supermarket this morning. Some of the shelves were empty.
The only thing i didn't get was unsmoked bacon. Plenty of smoked, but i don't like it.
Everyone enjoyed their dinner, so thats a bonus.
Hope everyone is having/had a good day.Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the dinner Nan2.
Good for your DD Mimi ! There are not many of us traditionalists left
I think beaches are popular on New Years Day Oma, blowing the cobwebs away!
We had lots of fireworks near us too WG. Early ones around 6, then lots around midnight.
After a late and lazy start to the day we tidied up after New Years Eve. Then we watched a lot of recorded TV from last night, and played game of Scrabble. I also filled in the forms which I may have to send off regarding the Power of Attorney. I am waiting to hear from the solicitor once they re open, but thought I would get them prepared at least.
I am just enjoying the very last glass of last nights mulled wine. Luckily for me there was one glassful left at the end of the night“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I went for a bike ride this afternoon, round a nature reserve I often go to, it was quite busy, there were 2 young girls in front of me, messing around all over the place, I wanted to pass them so all I did was ring my bell, I have never heard language like it!!! If I wanted to translate it for you all I wouldn't know where to start! These girls were only 11 or 12 years old, I was so annoyed I stopped and told them what I thought, I maybe shouldn't have as it didn't help, as I left they shouted even more filth, I don't know what other people thought to them as I said it was busy. I was annoyed with them, when looking at them I thought about GD2, the same age, what a difference!

Daily drop in is a good title for me today. My DD had obviously told her local children to keep an eye on me. Late morning GD1, her OH and Harriet arrived hot foot from his family seeing in the New Year. We had the remains of champagne, made them some lunch, baby H went to bed and GD and her OH promptly fell asleep. Then GS1 and his two children arrived, full of energy. I have tidied up my DD’s sitting room, put toys away, I will wash up the glasses tomorrow. Dil rang whilst they were here, DD had obviously talked to them, I am there tomorrow and am staying the night.
After I left Waitrose yesterday, the store was evacuated due to a suspicious package which was disposed of. The staff took refuge in a large cafe nearby. Not sure what happened to the customers shopping as most of the trollies were full of NY food. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
