Jane - I think the house always looks a bit bare and empty when you've taken the Christmas deccies down. Happy painting.
Lizzie - easily done! I've come a cropper not being careful with autofill before now!
Oma - how exciting for Clare - and the rest of the family.
Plant - thanks for the warning - is that FaceBook?
Gem - yes, our friends did come round with their DD and GD. It was lovely to spend time with their DD and GD - they were at their Dad's 80th birthday celebration in October but we didn't have much chance to chat to them then. DD was very taken with OH's woodturning and has asked if she can have a go, so I think they'll be back. They can't get a sailing until 2nd January. I haven't seen much of their GD for years - she's 14 now - and she's a lovely girl.
We had lunch after our friends had left and both felt very tired. By the time we were ready to go out it was getting dark and the wind was freezing, so I took Eva out for a local walk - she seemed quite happy with that and I was glad to get back home out of the wind.
Tomorrow we're going up to DS1's for the day."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Another grey and miserable day. Felt awful, so have spent the afternoon in bed......asleep! Watched Worzel Gummidge and that made me smile!
Should be going to my neighbour's funeral tomorrow, but have sent my apologies. Don't think it's a good idea to be mixing event though I've tested negative for the past few days.
DS's birthday today which he's spent working. Have promised him steak and chips tomorrow night!
Hope everyone is still keeping safe.
Take care xxBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

WeeGranny - grey dismal weather doesn't help anyone, does it. You probably really needed that sleep, and I don't blame you not going to your neighbour's funeral tomorrow. Apart from risk of infection, you've been through enough just lately. xxx
Sleep well tonight, and celebrate DS's birthday tomorrow. Is steak and chips his favourite?

Raining here again. We can't remember the last time we had some sunshine.
WG, hope you feel a bit better today. You have been through a lot recently, your body probably needed the sleep.
Steak and chips is one of my favourite meals.
Oma, lovely for Clare to feel the first flutters.
Bin men were here before 6,thats my excitement for the day.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning everyone.
WG, strange times, you take sleep when you need it x
Nan2, I hope something nicer than the bin men happens for you today!
Today mum is coming to us for the afternoon. I really wanted to have her here at some point over Christmas, and GS1 has been wanting to see her. He is coming with his mum. DD3 is coming too, with baby news for mum
Taking mum out is so mixed for me. She is at her most happy and 'normal' when out, but at her most confused on the journey back. On balance, for mum, it is worth it though. OH will drive us back so I can give mum full attention in the car as it's a half hour journey.

Nanto - that lovely cheerful graphic is just the thing to banish another day of grey dismal wet weather. Thank you. xx
Gem - I do hope everything goes well today and your Mum enjoys her afternoon with you. GS1 will be very excited, no doubt, and he's such a sweetheart. Your Mum will be delighted when she hears about her new GGC on the way.
We're going up to DS1 and DIL's for the day. I think the men are planning a few DIY jobs, but DIL and I have got our sights set on the hot tub and a lazy day!
I hope everyone is ok. Take care. xx

Thank you Gem. I was so tired after Christmas Day (it was worth it!) but I'm starting to feel more energetic now. A lazy day in good company is a bonus! I'm so lucky to have two amazing, loving DILs.

Good morning, it is dry here at the moment after rain almost all of the day yesterday, I have been for a bike ride and got bunches of amaryllis for neighbours , one couple back from their holiday and the other comes for coffee to where I do it on a Monday, she was there on Monday and I am allergic to strong perfumes etc and she certainly had a very strong one on! I told her before I left that I was allergic etc and she said she wouldn't put it on the next time I am there, I wondered if I should have mentioned it so I have been with the flowers to say sorry or no-one in the flat will be talking to me!!!!
She loved the flowers and said she was pleased I mentioned the perfume then she will know next time.
Enjoy the hot tub Daisy, relax!
Gem, enjoy having your mum visiting.xxx

Good Morning,
Plant I received a message from your account but never opened it I had been sent one similar a few weeks ago so was aware, when will be ever be free from these scammers you have to be so so careful.
The past couple of days have been very quiet neighbour called in for a wee chat so I opened the Baileys and we had a good couple of hours remembering my John all with a good laugh though.
DD has gone back to work to find her working hours have been changed and not really for the better at the minute she starts at 8am-4pm they have changed them to 7.30am-3.30pm the buses to the site run every 30mins so she now has to get the 6.50 first bus it only takes 10mins to get to the site so she will be waiting around a while before she is due to log into her work for the day .
I have decided that when I come back from my holiday with DD in June (if we ever make it) I am going to look for a new puppy it has been a year since I lost my little Poppy and miss the company so much Oliver is company but he doesn't realise he lives here he spend's most of the day back & forth to Jim's next door so if I can find a little dog it will make all the difference I will register with some rescue centre's about March time and see whats available I only want something small like Pops and if I get a puppy I will have the summer to house train won't I.
Is anyone celebrating New Year with a house party are you like me and have a quiet night,I have been invited to DDs partners house for a house party but declined as the travel home is far too expensive so I'll be off to bed to find a good film to watch in previous years we have always done similar.
This morning I had an accident when washing up breakfast dishes I have used the same china cup for my tea for many years a friend of my DD bought it for me its now in pieces as I dropped it when drying fancy a cup making you feel so sad.
Take care everyone and enjoy the day Glamma x
Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

That sounds good to me Daisy, a lovely relax in a hot tub, I think you deserve it after that marathon cook.
Lizzie, I am sure your neighbour understood. My DD can’t stand lilies in the room, it effects her breathing
WG, I am sure your DS enjoyed his steak and chips, did you get the steak from DD’s butcher? I think you were so right not to go to your neighbours funeral, your emotions have taken enough recently.
Gemini, how lovely to have your mum to your house, she will enjoy seeing the family I am sure. It is a shame she will not have the memory of it afterwards.
Nanto, I am not enjoying this dismal weather either. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Found the steak in the freezer Plant, so I'm not sure where it's from! The beef we had for Christmas was excellent!

Morning ladies
It is very dark and wet , it’s almost like night and cold ,
After not a good night I went to bed at 5 and managed 3 hours ,
We have just been to Tesco and on the way back I popped into Dunelm as I wanted some new fitted sheets for the spare bed and a runner for bottom of our bed ,
I have a large throw on but it’s a pain to fold etc ,
Anyway got the sheets but didn’t have runner , came home and ordered on Click and collect then got a email to say can be picked up now so they do have them in just not out , I should have asked while I was in the shop🤨
Got home to a text from my niece who has COVID to say her Husband tested positive this morning too .
Glamm if your ready for another little dog go for it , It will bring you so much joy and company
Poor DD not good hours for her is it , can she not negotiate with them ? Having said that some companies just don’t care do they xx
Daisy hope you get to go in the hot tub it will sooth your tired bones and let you relax
Gem how exciting telling Mum about the baby , I really hope you all have a wonderful day xx
Lizzie I’m sure the lady was pleased you told her , I know I would be if a perfume I wore made someone unwell I would like to know so I could avoid it happening ,
Im the same , I think I told you I can’t be in a room with Lillies I get a instant Migraine .
Nanto all that excitement with the bin men coming early , steady on old girl hahaha
