Gemini, I am sure your mum will enjoy getting out into the fresh air and perhaps see slime boats.

Very pretty shells Lizzie, I love shells.

I am really fed up with M&S, quality and sizing very bad, can’t rely on them at all these days.

Nanto, I hope the new neighbours will be as nice as the old ones.

Bed changing this morning, electric blanket going back on the bed. Indoor bowls this afternoon.

Good Monday morning everyone. It's sunny here as well, but a bit chilly. But it's still early (for me) and I'm sure it will be warmer later.

Gem - I didn't realise hair colour worked so quickly. I try not to use the hairdryer, but I usually use the hot brush on my fringe. That should be a really nice outing for your mum. Just a little drive and there's always something going on around a marina so lots to see. Hope you get the quiz done in time.

Lizzie - your DIL is very talented - the painting on those shells is beautiful. Does she do a lot of painting/craft work? Enjoy your swim this afternoon.

Nanto - did you get the windows cleaned in time? Naughty birds, but you can't blame them for feasting on the blackberries - they're delicious.

Oma - are you getting something exciting from B&Q, or is it just a look round? It should be a good day to get jobs done in the garden. Does Storm just lie there and watch?

Not sure what I'm doing today, except looking after Missy (next door's Sprocker) while they're out for the day. We can't have Cooper here until the garden's a bit safer.

Daisy, it is not all painting, they use serviette's, the gold etc is paint.

Gem, enjoy the trip out with your mum.

I have the windows done in here, first coffee then I will get the bedrooms done.

Lizzie - the effect is still very good, however it's done, and very attractive. You sound busy this morning.

Lizzie I have seen the serviettes used before its very easy and clever , they look amazing , can just see them on a table or window sill

Daisy I was looking for a small lean to green house to house some plants over the winter ,
just a small one I could anchor to my back gate to stop it falling over in the wind ,
The only ones they had were flimsy and small , I will look on Amazon they have the wood framed ones with perspex for about £ 80

Plant enjoy your bowls , it is getting colder on a night and Dark quickly too isnt it ,

Gem im sure your Mum will enjoy herself this afternoon , will you be having afternoon tea out ?

GM did you get your specs sorted or are you still one armed

Nanto it will have been colourful Poo though

Thanks, the shells are lovely, GD2 can make them as well. She has always liked doing anything like that.

Yes Daisy, very busy, ALL, the windows indoors are clean, even the ones above the doors, I have just had an early lunch then we are going on our bikes to the pool, it isn't far, 6km.

Plant, enjoy the bowls, is it indoors? Yes, shells are always pretty.

Nan2, how nice that your FIL visits, he must be coping well on his own to get out and about.

As you know I have a borrowed bike, the first time I rode it I said it was not handy to get on and off, my foot catches the frame, it did today after swimming, we stopped at the traffic lights and my foot caught the frame and down I went! Luckily the friend I was with and one of the other ladies helped me get up as I can't kneel on one knee, it was a busy crossing and people stopped to help! I hurt my knee, ribs and my pride! My knee isn't bad, maybe in the morning but up to now not bad, rib painful when I move, apart from that I am fine, it is the shoes I had on as well, trainers have thick soles so I will have to remember that each time I go out. Now I am hoping that my new one soon arrives.

When we got back home the man came to fix the fault with the boilers so we all have hot water again.

Hope you're not suffering too much after your fall Lizzie! Take it easy tonight and maybe make use of your hot water to stand under the shower and let the water run over your bruised bits.

Been to look at a second home, but not too sure about it. It has 3 floors and 75 rooms. I found it very noisy and not very restful, unlike the one OH is n now. Beautiful gardens, but in the middle of an industrial estate. Have written about OH in YEO.

Rained heavily last night and it's getting a bit black now. DS off to the gym for a workout. Need to check what he fancies for dinner before he goes.

Have a good evening ladies. It's getting darker much earlier I've noticed. xx

WeeGranny, I will take care of my bruises!

75 rooms sounds like a lot to me. It is getting dark earlier now. We haven't had the rain yet.

I read your post about missing the plants and flowers here, I bet you do!

Ouch Lizzie , Are you really ok or putting a brave face on ?
Must have gotten a shock too , gentle hugs xx

WG it is getting dark very early , I was just saying so this morning , it seems to have came in all of a sudden .
Nanto its nice to hear that FIL is coming round and enjoying his visits

Gem are you all set for the quiz did you get all the questions done ?

Oh Lizzie, I hope you are OK xx
WG my dad was in an 80 bed modern purpose built nursing home over 3 floors. Mum is in an 18 bed village care home, in the old vicarage. Mum's is certainly more cosy, with far less turnover of staff. Dad was very well cared for in the large one though.
Nan2, your FIL must enjoy coming to you. You are a good DIL.
Oma, I got all the quiz questions done (3 rounds) before I got out of bed this morning

Mum had a nice time enjoying tea and cake and a look at the boats on the river. We have booked to take her there again on her birthday in fact as it is a way all GDs can see her, which is still not allowed within the home. We just need to check that it is OK to go for tea and cake, not Sunday roast.

Oma, luckily I am OK, not only a brave face, I think my ribs took a bang but my knee feels fine. I can't get on my knees to get up so had help to get off the ground, the shame of it!!! It was a shock! I have just been on my other bike to pick my new soles up and I was fine on it so hasn't put me off cycling!

I saw that about the USA Gem and thought of you all, pleased you had a nice time with your mum.

Gem, I'm glad you had a nice time with your mum this afternoon. I'm sure she must love being able to get out and about a bit. It would be a lovely birthday treat. I thought of you when I read about the change in rules for visitors to the US.

Lizzie - I do hope you're not too badly bruised. Have you got Arnica cream for them? I swear by it for bruises but the sooner you use it after the damage the better. Take it easy tomorrow and have a rest if you can. At least you won't be tempted to clean any windows or doors tomorrow!

WeeGranny - the home he's in now sounds very good, and if the gardens are quite large the surroundings might not matter too much. It's hard weighing up the pros and cons, isn't it.

Nanto - it must do your Dad good to get out every day, although I suppose it will get less attractive when the bad weather comes. Still, he's making the most of fine weather at the moment.

Good morning, I am awake far too early. The bruises are not as bad as expected, my knee is a little sore but it is the ribs that I feel more, I think I landed on my arm when I fell, luckily, it isn't as bad as it could have been, in fact I was stood still so just fell over. I do have Arnica for them Daisy.
