Gem the nurse did say we could get Flu symptoms but so far no sign , maybe S was run down after all her golf days and its hit her harder ,
I hope after a day or so of rest she is feeling better xxx

Lizzie please leave the curtains till maybe your GD is there and even if she cant put them up she can hold onto you while you do them ( says she who climbs on the work tops alone )

Well never stopped since got up .
Did house work then went into garden with a bucket of soapy water to brush the fences down ,

Now I know that sounds strange but we get lots of tree spiders that make sticky webs all over the fence and the only way to get rid is with soapy water ,
Dry brushing them just makes them spread and stick more .

Then once that was done we decided to defrost the second freezer , it doesn't defrost itself like our main freezer does .

Washed the towels after our showers and they in the tumble .

Im having 5 minutes before I wipe the Garden furniture down , someone has bought them and coming after lunch ,
We want something better and rather than store these for the winter and sell them next year we thought may as well sell them now ,

Its very overcast but no rain forecast as far as we know .

Phew Oma, I feel tired just reading all that!!

I took OH a cup of tea at 9 and she took painkillers. She's feeling about the same. I hope she will feel better as the day goes on. If not she may have to cancel tomorrow's golf.

I went to a children’s party yesterday, it was a shared party for GD1 and her cousin, it isn’t GD’s 2nd birthday until next week but she is too young to realise that. They had a bouncy castle and a little slide for the little ones. Lots of lovely food and cake, baby H slept through most of it. Unfortunately the baby brother of the birthday boy was taken poorly and had to go to hospital. I don’t know if they kept him in. My DD and OH had to miss the party as she was pinged the day before, so I did a face time call with the GC. I am now the owner of a tattoo of a cat on my arm, I wonder if it washes off. We were very lucky with the weather and today is starting off sunny.

Thank you, but Oma, they are washed, shortened and hung, well, just the last hook in the corner and I need my tall young neighbour to do that for me. I know what you mean, I often do more than I should be doing, stood on tables, kitchen tops etc before today.

Oma, friends of mine in the UK have just bought garden furniture with 50% off, making space for the Christmas show! Mine is down in the shed, I need to go to the shops as my cupboards are bare!

Just heard that DIL is feeling a little better, I hope she is and that they are not just saying that to make me feel easier .

Just trying to get my tired body into gear, even after two strong coffees it's not co-operating! Another day in A&E with OH. Will write about it later in YEO, but he's been kept in and they're worried about the test results and his not eating. Spoke to the ward earlier and nurse said he was cheerful but his temperature was still on the high side and they're trying to get him to eat !

Didn't get home until gone 11 and DS and I sat talking and drinking until about 3. Paying price now. Too old for these late nights!! DD coming out later today.

Washing on, Sunday papers waiting to be read and lasagne ( ready made) for dinner later. Anything else can wait.

Sun is shining, so I think I'll be reading in the garden.

Hope all poorly people are feeling a bit better today. Take it eeasy all of you xx

ps Will be thinking about Nanto tomorrow. Sending her and her family strength and love for what will be an emotional day xx

Take care and take it easy to today WG. You are going through so much but still seem to be seeing the good things in life! I hope they can get your OH to eat. When I couldn't get my mum to eat before she went into the care home it was very stressful.

WG, sorry to hear your OH is in hospital but perhaps as he is not eating and giving cause for concern he is in the best place. Good job you have your DS with you atm and it will be good to see your DD.

Just heard the little boy taken to hospital has an infection in both lungs and they are keeping him in so mother is staying with him. The party was a joint affair with GD1 and her cousin whose mother and father were at the hospital, father came back and we all had cake and opened some presents, he is a dear little boy and didn’t seem worried his mother was not there. They kept some presents back so that he could open them with his mother.

Hope all goes smoothly for Nanto and the family tomorrow, sad day for them all.

Fear not ladies I’m still around. So nice of you to miss me.
I’m having days of feeling a bit down then feeling guilty for feeling like that ! Some days are fine but then along comes a “down” one as I know the other ladies who have lost their OH’s will understand.

I was hoping to cut the grass today but it is still wet from the morning dew as we’ve had no sun to dry it.

DD was taking GD to Uni today. You may remember L took “ interrupted learning “ last year as due to Covid her course in Drama and Media was hardly one you could fully participate in on- line. She worked in Superdrug for the year.I hope DD doesn’t miss her too much.

Really hope any poorly ones feel better soon. Best Wishes to all.x
