LOL, Plant, on first reading your post, I thought it was the man at the pool who couldn't find the right ladder, so you were all still waiting to get into the pool!

I feel very lazy today compared to you Plant - with aqua class, plus ironing and gardening!!

I have to keep fit Gemini, after all I am not getting any younger.

The man from Sky came with the right ladder and informed us that we couldn’t have Sky Q as we need it in both sitting rooms so that was that. Sil told SKY that we are paying too much so they reduced our Sky fee by £20 a month.

Plant we have had SkyQ for 3 weeks or so and still struggling to get used to it!

Plant - sorry our earlier posts crossed - I wasn't ignoring you! xx None of these jobs seem straightforward, do they! How can you have the 'wrong' ladder? At least your ironing's done and I'm sure the pansies and trailing ivy will look great right through the winter - they're such happy looking flowers!

Nanto - at least your windows got cleaned. Our window cleaner came while I was out yesterday and OH said not to do the back because of the patio work - they are caked in dust and grime! He just did the front and bless him he didn't charge us - at least OH made him a coffee!

Ouch, Lizzie. How painful. There's not much you can do except be careful and treat the pain, but I hope it heals quickly.

Gem - fancy your friend not knowing Daisy Duck! I'm sure they will soon become experts with your Disney questions. It's funny what people know and don't know. I used to do quizzes with students when we were winding down at the end of term, and one question they would always fall down on was "What colour are (wild) cornflowers?" They would always say yellow.

Oma - we're treating the lawn. Scarify and aerate tomorrow, rolling and then seeding. Then we'll see what it's like in the Spring. I hope the scan goes well tomorrow. Thank goodness they are finally getting to grips with the problem. xxx

Can I ask - what is SkyQ please?

            A nice morning again.

Plant well done for SIL getting the price down for Sky.

Just done the ironing,so thats a job out of the way, before i go to dads.

Had a lovely catch up with GD1 and her hubby yesterday.

              Good morning everyone.

That's a pretty graphic Nan2. I'm glad you had a nice time with your GD.
Daisy, I hope you get all the scarifying done. SkyQ is just posher newer version of Sky - which I am not yet convinced is better than the old one!!
Oma, I hope the scan is quickly over with.

This afternoon there is a summer fair/party on the field at GS2's school. This is to make up for all the things which have been missed by the kids. Not open to others apart from the school this time, and no food outlets so slightly smaller that the pre pandemic ones. There are a couple of bouncy castles, some stalls and and fun things for kids. Bring your own food, picnic chairs etc. I am going to run the Guess the Name of the Rabbit stall for an hour or so. I would be happy to do it for the whole 3 hours, but as GS is only 5, we don't want him left to his own devices too long! DD2 is still Chair of the PTA and chief organiser, so will be busy. GD will be coming as the present year 7 and 8 are invited back for it

I will collect GD from her school, go to GS's then get busy!
As its my turn to cook tonight and I'm not sure what time I will be back, I am making a shepherd's pie this morning.

              Enjoy your Friday!

Good morning, Oma I missed the part about your scan, good luck with it this morning.

Daisy, we don't have Sky so I would have no idea what SkyQ is!

I have been back to the garage, my car isn't leaking oil, I poured too much in!! Probably on a slope when I checked it, so, next time I have to go to them and get it checked.. I have had a few cars over the years, OH as well, but, I have never had a garage as good and friendly as this one, I bought this Kia, must be 7 or 8 years ago, very good service, the salesman always comes to me when I go and asks if I want cappuccino, he knows I won't be buying another car but he is always so friendly and helpful, they all are.

My poor ribs are sore, I was starting the sport school next week but have just phoned to postpone that.

Gem, enjoy the school fair, the children (and you) will enjoy it.

Lizzie, when you find a good garage you need to stick with it don't you? Yours sounds great. Yes, you will have to be careful what you do for a while until the ribs heal. I hope you feel more comfortable soon.

                    Morning ladies ,
Scan at 10 cant have anything to eat before hand so I am taking some fruit and a biscuit for when I get out ,
Being Diabetic I should eat regular but it will be 15 hours since I last ate by time its done .

We are thinking of having Sky taken out to be honest its wasted money for what we watch ,
plus we have a huge dish that picks up hundreds of channels anyway .

Gem enjoy the fair what is the name of the bunny then ?

Nanto beautiful graphic thank you it always makes me smile when I see them

Lizzie take it slow and easy today xx

My Niece who had her bowel removed a few years ago gave us a fright last night ,
Her Stoma bag filled up twice with blood , got to the Hospital and it was a burst vein in her stoma ,
They repaired it and stitched her up then sent her home late last night ,

If it bleeds again today she has to go back ,
Spoke with her this morning ,she is still in bed but so far no more bleeding , she is sore but ok .

Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, I don't know the name of the bunny! To be announced afterwards apparently I presume it is written down somewhere in a sealed envelope, that's what I did when I did a Name The Teddy once for the library Friends group.
You will be so ready to eat after your scan.
I hope all stays OK now with your niece's stoma.

How frightening for your niece Oma. I hope the scan goes well and you are not kept waiting.

Lizzie take care of that painful rib. You seem to have found a great garage to get jobs done without them overcharging you.

sounds like a fun day at the school Gemini. Haven't had Shepherds pie for years, enjoy.

Daisy, what a lot of work you are having to do to reclaim your lawn.

A I have said before I do watch quite a bit of television and we can't get much of a reception without it as we have the woods on our boundary and the trees have grown a lot sine we have been here, hence we had Sky installed and as we share the cost it isn't too expensive. We thought we would change to Sky Q as it is easier to negotiate and SIL loves his sport, he also has BT sport. The other benefit for me is that you can record more than two programms when your favourite programmes clash. We are certainly are not wanting a posher version of Sky. They will phase out the version most people have in a year or two and the price was lower than we are paying now, so it seemed a sensible thing to do . I am really disappointed we have been turned down.

Good morning, ladies. Nanto - OH and I had just been talking about holidays (or lack of them!) and your graphic made me think of relaxing in a luxurious spa hotel!

Oma - how scary for your niece, but thank goodness she got prompt attention. I hope she soon feels ok again. Fasting before medical procedures is a problem for a lot of people, but not at all good for you when you need to keep an eye on your insulin levels. I hope they're not late with the appointment. When we first got Sky, years ago, it came with free Sports and Movies. It was two years after that deal finished before I noticed we didn't have them any more!

Gem - how lovely that the school are trying to make up for some of the things the children have missed during lockdowns. I hope the weather's good and they all have a wonderful time. I wonder who will win the bunny!

Lizzie - what a lovely garage. I'm glad your car isn't leaking oil - it's easy to put too much in, isn't it. I think you're sensible to put the sports activities on hold until your ribs have stopped hurting. Do take it easy.

It's nice and sunny here, but only just warming up enough to go out in a short-sleeved t-shirt. We're just waiting for our battered lawn to dry out a bit before starting to work on it. Sainsbury's have been and everything's put away, but there are piles of washing to do so I'll get a couple of loads in while it's fine.

                          Have a good Friday, everyone.

Good Morning Ladies I have caught up on all the news this morning everyone has been so busy.
WG I do hope your OH has settled in now and eating well has he made any new friends since he arrived ?

Oma did you have posh bubble bath in your posh room or do you take your own favourite brand.

Gems how often do you do pick up for your DGCs do you go every day or just one or two days a week.?

Plant good results on your blood I had my diabetic review this week and all the markers where good only thing was I had put on 4lbs since my last review I just can't understand where it has come from maybe from not dog walking as I used to take Pop's out 3 times a day which doesn't happen now. I may ask around and find a dog to walk for someone local.

I have planted 4 x tubs of pansies to the front now the garden looks nice and colourful they are in tall tubs so the squirrels can't attack them thank goodness.

My friend M is back from her holiday in Ireland and we shall meet up tomorrow for a catch up she goes to visit a good friend 3/4 times a year she grabs all the cheap flights from Liverpool on Ryan Air not my favourite airline but she gets really good deals from them she say's she doesn't spend as much as she does when she is at home for the week which I find strange as I thought Ireland was expensive.

Its cool here today I have put on my heavier dressing gown this morning as I am feeling the change in temperature I think with the increase on fuels just now I will be wearing it a lot more during the winter months along with woolly jumpers at the ready.

I have been out and about all week and have started on the C-------s bags for the little ones mainly interesting books and lego I have promised youngest DGD some clothe's for her Babybay Annabelle so will be going to look on Ebay for them. Also bought all the sauces for the C-------s dinner and table decorations DD is hosting the dinner and I am doing the trimmings I know its far to early but if there are shortages I need to start now.

Off to hang out washing whilst the rain stay's off then go and get my week-end shopping just for fresh veg etc & fruit.
                            Bye for now xx glamma

Plant, I said straight from the start that the garage was really good, if there is anything I can call in anytime and they will help me, they had a laugh this morning about me being the only person with a carpet in their garage. The GD's remember when I first got the car, we were going somewhere and there was such a strange noise, we stopped at a petrol station, I thought it could be a wheel, no it wasn't so we went to the garage, I got the coffee, the girls got lemonade and biscuits, the man came and brought me the key, the back window was slightly open and that was what was causing the noise! My old car had no back windows that opened so I had no idea.

Oma, I hope all is well now with your niece, she would be worried.

It is warm here, I have been to the library so will get some reading done.

Glamma, I pick up each set of GC once a week usually. GS1 on Tuesdays, GD and GS2 on Fridays. School pick up in term time, and have them all day during the school holidays. Neither DD wanted to impose too much, and I do extra days and sleepovers once in a while. It's a nice balance
