Oma, that sounds a nasty upset tummy, take care of yourself today.
Drew the curtains this morning and surprised to see we had snow overnight, it is nearly all gone. I hope the blue tits in their box were snug and warm. No plans to go rushing to the shops, can you imagine what John Lewis will be like. I have had three nuisance calls already this morning. I am looking forward to having my hair done on Wed.
Lizzzie, I hope you are feeling brighter this morning, take care on those icy roads.
Gemini, I hope the sorting out of your mums house will not be as complicated as Sil's mother's house. They are still wondering what to do with the grand piano, no one wants it, it will cost £300 for someone to take it away. I think the brothers are planning to smash it and put it in the skip.
Daisy, I must look for that program on Catch-Up. I would love to visit the New Forest again some time.

Oh dear Plant, there must be someone??? that can house a grand piano, what a shame if it has to be broken up, thanks, I am feeling a little brighter, I am home now, warm and safe. I must say it was very quiet on the roads compared to some mornings. The sun is out now, I don't know for how long though.

Plant - how awful to have to smash up a grand piano. I wonder if there's something like a music charity who would take it? Or a community centre, a church or even a school. Locally we've got a charity that teaches music and various instruments and has choirs, bands, etc mainly for children.
Plant - the programme is on iPlayer (BBC2). I've watched it now, and I remember doing a photoshoot some years ago with one of the chefs featured and he was so enthusiastic. It was lovely to talk to him. Strangely enough though I'd never heard of pannage pig (as a meat) but we get boar meat for Eva and she loves it.
Lizzie - I'm glad you're home and warm this horrible weather, but well done for getting out in your car.
Oma - poor you. You must be feeling pretty tired after such an awful night. I can't take Ibuprofen either, although it doesn't usually make me sick. Have a quiet day and keep warm.
Gem - hurrah! Another step towards normality. xx
Is anyone else celebrating today - hairdressers, nailbar, shopping, gym etc?

Went in to Cambridge to drop off yet more forms for the solicitor and one of the large car parks attached to a shopping centre was full! The roads were chock-a-block! Luckily, it was a case of putting an envelope through the letter box while I parked just outside! The pub opposite us has a large marquee in the garden and I had to smile as I went past, parked outside was one of those mobility scooters! I hope there are no police checking for drink drivers in the village this afternoon! The patrons looked socially distanced and well wrapped up!
Bitterly cold this morning, with a hard frost, but now in the sunshine it's quite pleasant.
I,too was wondering if a school or organisation might take the grand piano Plant. Might be worth putting it on the local FaceBook page. Seems a shame to break it up.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

At least the solicitors are getting on with your house sale and purchase, WeeGranny. Interesting that there were so many people out and about shopping.
Let's hope the visitors to your local pub eat more than they drink!
My DS1 had customers from when they opened the doors, and it was really busy for a couple of hours, then they had a 10 or 15 minute lull and then it got busy again. When I spoke to him about 3.15 they were trying to get lunch!
Nanto - you were lucky to get your washing dried - it's been drizzly and overcast here, and a very cold wind. I'm sure you'll be delighted to see your hairdresser on Thursday.
Oma - joining the others in saying I hope you're feeling better. xx

Im feeling a lot better thank you ladies , don't feel like eating and tired but no pain and sickness gone so on the mend .
Had to phone British Gas the damn heating gone again , its freezing too .
The fan has jammed and didn't have one on the van so left us two fan heaters and coming back tomorrow .
I was going to SIL's shop in the morning to choose a carpet but will re arrange that .
B went to Dentist this afternoon its in the health center joined to our Shopping Mall but luckily you can go in another entrance as he said the actual shopping mall was packed .
It seems criminal to break up a grand piano im sure some school or music teachers would take it if advertised , that's how GS1 got his upright piano through a add on freecycle .
Having Hair cut on Wednesday cant waitIm not fat just 6ft too small

They have advertised the piano but it is going to cost too much to transport it. I hope they can find a home for it, I am sure SIL's sister will try.
I was was really annoyed but not surprised, to see on the news, crowds of people, mainly young people, pushing and shoving to get into the retail shops, it was like the January sales. If they do not act sensibly we shall be in lockdown again.Last edited by Plantaholic; 12-04-2021, 07:18 PM.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.
Bright and sunny again. Another cold one though.
Dentist for me this at 12.15. I cannot wait to have this stich removed. Now the socket isn't swollen the cotton is flapping about and I keep moving it with my tongue!
As the dentist is in town and GS1's school is too, it seems silly to drive into town twice. OH will be on the golf course. I will take my Kindle (and warm coat!) and read in the park. I can also look at non essential shops if I dare! DD3 hopes to meet me for lunch. We will buy sandwiches.
GS from school and back here for his tea.
I hope Oma is feeling better and Plant's cold is on the mend. Love to anyone under the weather in any way xx“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning, like Oma I am back to normal. A lovely sunny day after the snow yesterday. I have done my exercises and now hope to go for a bike ride. I have done the washing, it is out to dry.
Enjoy your afternoon in the park Gem, it will be colder sitting on a bench. Good luck at the dentist, I have an appointment next month.
