Nanto - that lovely cockerel graphic would make a great needlework project. It looks so tactile. (Not that I can do much more than thread a needle!) Enjoy your fish dinner.
Oma - happy birthday to your Great Nephew. Sixteen is usually such a great age for youngsters, but I feel so sorry for these teens trapped in all the Covid restrictions. I know it's not as bad as teens growing up during the War, but in contrast to the lives our youngsters lead just 2 short years ago it's very sad. I hope you get a nana nap during the day. Do you know what kept you awake last night?
Enfys - it's the same here, frosty but very pretty. The cold fresh air does you good. I'll probably take Eva in the Forest later. You should be really proud of yourself getting your new lap top up and running - it just shows what we can do when we have to. It will be satisfying to get your family history research back on track as well. Yes, lockdown must be hard if you have no particular interests like your poor friend. I agree, the internet is a life saver. I love watching art tutorials on YouTube, and as you say, there is information on anything you could want. I hadn't heard to the Sketchbook Challenge. To be honest, I'm rubbish at drawing and I've been putting off trying, but perhaps a challenge is just what I need to give me a kick in the appropriate place! Do let me know how it goes. xx
Nana - your post shows 22.48, the time you said. Did your phone show the same time? Phones usually set the time automatically I think, unless there's something in your phone settings throwing it out of sync. I must admit I'm puzzled. Confused of Hampshire.

Gem, you posted while I was typing (and chatting to OH)
Wow - it's all happening in America. Interesting what your friend says, and it does sound as though Pence and several other senior Republicans in the Trump camp are distancing themselves from him. Thank God there's not long to go now, unless Pence invokes the 25th Amendment.
Plant - I think Molly is a pretty name as well. I think choosing a name for a new baby is very hard! How is your GD1 today? I hope she's getting plenty of sleep, although even that is difficult at this stage. It would be lovely if the baby's head engages beforeSunday - fingers crossed.
I'd better go and get a shower - I was late waking up again this morning.

I think we have had a sprinkling of snow overnight, no sunshine today. Late getting up again, no plans. DD got me some veg when she went shopping yesterday so no need for me to go out. No news of my vaccine jab yet. The 2 Zoom meetings went well yesterday, stretch class in the morning and WI friends in the afternoon. I am getting a bit bored with television and knitting, maybe a time on my sewing machine might break the monotony.
Interesting conversation with your American friend Gemini, how some people can support him beggers belief.
Enjoy your new laptop Enfys, it helps a lot if you have your own interests when you loose your partner.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
Daisy a combination of my shoulder hurting and my knees ,
They play up in cold weather and set my restless legs off so some nights I cant rest for the ache
I have just spent a good bit of time emptying bedside drawers in my spare bedroom ,
The rubbish I have collected in them is shocking .
If im upstairs and have something I cant find a space for or not sure what to do with I just put them in one of the drawers ,
Never to be seen again ,
Amongst the rubbish was
11 pens ,
A 2018 diary unused .
6 draw knobs from a previous set of drawers ,
2 Travel clocks one with batteries that had leaked ,
A odd Glove
several case locks with no keys
Bits of random Paper
a roll of plastic food bags !! lord knows why the were in a bedroom draw
Amongst lots of other random useless junk ,
I must stop putting stuff in drawers just because I cant think what to do with it ,
Note to myself if its junk throw it out
Ha Oma, that made me laugh. I've yet to go through the junk drawer in the kitchen. I think maybe everyone has one. We could have had an all night chat as I didn't sleep a wink either. Hope your DD's ok.
Enfys I haven't heard of the Sketchbook challenge either. I might just look into it. What sort of challenges are they?
Gem, that is interesting about Trump. I wish they could oust him out now. There's no telling what his unstable mind is capable of. Roll on 20th.
Daisy it's still showing the wrong time but I'll give in. I'm puzzled too. Nan2, how's your son with Covid? My DD's waiting for her & her two boys test results. Uncomfortable for adults never mind a 5 & 9yr old.🤞

Nana, if you google sketchbook, challenge it’s all explained. It’s been done before and I think the challenges are random and not difficult. I’ve signed up and had a welcome email explaining it all.

Good morning, my eye is still playing up, a virus in it, I had shingles above the eye long ago and when I have eye trouble the rash comes out. I have cream etc so hope it does soon clear.
It was my sisters cremation yesterday, her DS1 lives in Alnwick and it was a 6 hour drive in the snow. He advised his children not to travel which was wise. We followed the service via a link, the lady doing the service was very good, speaking as if she really knew the family which was good to hear, DS1 phoned me after the service and he said the same. I will phone BIL later, it is a difficult time, as well all know, to get used to being alone.
Nanto, I hope your son and family are soon feeling better.
Oma, we all have a drawer like that, I have a sewing corner with cupboards and drawers, I dare not even start to sort those out.
A neighbour often brings me snacks, he came the other evening and told me his partner had bought a new sewing machine so I went with him to see it, it is one with embroidery etc, very nice, but, you have to use the stitches on it or it is just a luxury machine but not used, I didn't say that, I called in yesterday to take the plate back and she has decided herself that it isn't for her. I told them that is what I thought when I saw it, they said I should have said at the time but it would have seemed like I was jealous, which I aren't. Now she is going to get a good strong machine with the basic stitches, if such a thing is still available.
I will try and follow the posts, with the eye playing up I haven't been in the mood.
DS2 phoned me last night, very pleased with himself as the bedroom etc upstairs is finished. They stripped the top floor when they bought the house as he wants a music studio and the layout was wrong, they have built is all up, new staircase etc, I must say they have done amazing work, they told me the decorators where there yesterday, he works with them a few days a week, to spray the walls. They said it looks very good, DS2 has been busy all week getting the floors in, I hope to go for lunch on Monday then I can see what they have done. He still has to finish the studio but they wanted this done first.
