What a chilly day! Our DIL bought over grandsons to run in our garden, see the chickens and play with Bella whilst we watched from the window. It was lovely to see their happy faces 💕. Bella is now exhausted and snoozing by the fire 🔥. It was a nice distraction for an hour. I’ve prepped the oranges, lemon and lime for the marmalade I shall make up tomorrow. I’ve frozen some more Seville’s to make another batch later in the year.

I am late catching up today, eye problem!! I got drops from the doctor on Monday and they seem to be helping the eye, but, this morning the skin round the eye is inflamed, on the phone again and the doctor phoned me back and I now have a cream both for my eye and the surrounding skin, it doesn't sound like much but is very painful.
I had a man here at 8am to fit a new water meter, he asked if I was always up and dressed by 8am as most people greet him in their dressing gown. I told him he would have to be here very early to catch me in mine.
I phoned BIL and he told me my eldest brother and wife are not going to the cremation tomorrow, it has upset me as I did expect them to go. Nephew and family driving up from Alnwick, the nephew was staying a few days but that is not allowed to they are all returning the same day.
As for Trump, like others I could never understand him being voted in in the first place.

Nana - yes, you're back in the present - the time's right. Well done, and thank you for trying that for me.x
Gem - it's all such a worry in America, but it just shows how what looks like a stable, civilised democracy can be dragged down like that. I'll be intrested to see what your American friend says.
Oma - well, you live and learn! I've had several labs or lab crosses and never seen that, but then I've never seen the effect Cooper's had either - all one flank has got like dappled pale patches of fur, but as I said he's not scratching it and he's not grumpy.
I didn't realise the children were doing PE as well, but I think it's good. I just hope they all have enough room to move around without wrecking house and home.

That’s interesting, Oma. It seems to be breeds that like cold weather. A friend at college always called cold, dry and bright weather Labrador weather and said her two chocolate labs would go a bit crazy with excitement. 😁😁"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. Good morning. Lovely picture Nanto.
Another very frosty morning, it all looks lovely but very cold. I still might get a walk in later, I don’t mind as long as I’m wrapped up.
My new lap top arrived and I got it all set up yesterday, even managed to upload my family tree programme. DH always used to do these jobs so I feel good that I managed to do it myself. Now I am all set to get on with it all, so much catching up to do.
I also phoned a friend, her DH passed away just before P, and we like to keep in touch. She is finding this lockdown very difficult, she is also on the vulnerable list which doesn’t help. She doesn’t seem to have any interests apart from reading and I do think that having hobbies helps with your mental health. I tried to get her interested in different things I have found online but unfortunately she doesn’t “do” the internet. It got me thinking, I have found the internet to be a lifesaver, so much information and ideas that I have trouble keeping up! Not only forums like this, but tutorials on youtube, free online classes, the choice in endless. What do you all think? I know it wouldn’t suit everyone.
Not much planned today, I need to get out and sweep the leaves up so might do that later. Otherwise, I can keep busy and I have some new books too just waiting to be read.
Have a good day everyone 🌞
just remembered, Daisy, I have just signed up to the Sketchbook Challenge, sounds interesting. You get an email every morning with an idea of something to sketch. You can choose to send in your sketch and it’s interesting to see what other people do. I’ll give it a go and see what it’s like.

Good morning everyone
It's slowly snowing here. Looks very pretty and as it's wet on the ground it probably wont lay. Good to see the back of the frost which didn't budge for two days.
Daisy, this was the text conversation between me and my American friend yesterday. The first text greeted me when I woke up and I had no idea what she was referring to. Once I had found out I texted her back -
MC - Such a rollercoaster of emotions today. Elation about the Georgia election and horror about the attack on the Capitol
Gem - I wish Trump could be immediately imprisoned. He's a psychopath and a danger to us all
MC - Yes! The day after he is no longer president the attorney general of New York is going after him. He'll have to flee the country to stay out of jail.
So, we shall see. He needn't flee our way.
How is your eye today Lizzie?
We are all waiting for the new baby to arrive PlantI think Molly is a pretty name.
Mmm, fish and Chips Nan2!
Oh Oma, I hope you have nap today x
A lot to catch with for me! Chat was busy so I haven't replied to all. I had the GC all day. By the time they left (DD and I always have a good chat at pick up time) I cooked and we ate, I was up for nothing but a few hours TV.
A good day and I write about it on yesterday's lockdown thread.
Nothing at all planned today, which is nice
