Good Friday morning, Nanto, Oma and everyone who calls in later.

It was cold last night, but no frost, which quite surprised me. We had a beautiful sunrise, but it's clouded over now. I hope it stays dry.

I'm just off for a shower and will pop back later.

Daisy, I have just read on our local Facebook group that they were out gritting the roads, so I presume we did have a frost but no white roofs, watery sunshine now.

Oma, how does Storm know the food is for him if you cook it after he arrives?

Waitrose shopping today, not sure which one to go to.

Like you Daisy, I need to get showered and dressed, will pop back later.

                  Good morning everyone.
Dull morning here with overnight rain.

                  Pretty flowers there Nan2.
There's no way that dog is spoilt Oma

No plans today. I will report back later if we actually do anything!
Have a good one, keep safe and well.

Plant - Storm, like every dog I know, recognises the slightest movement of a packet of cheese being smuggled quietly out of the fridge and will then move at the speed of light to the kitchen to investigate. They know when it's for them, and hope it is even when it's not!

It sounds as though it's colder where you are, Plant. Keep warm and cosy.

I've done a couple of loads of washing - mainly dog towels so they can go in the dryer. I don't like wet towels lying around the house.

Just going to sort out a bit of paperwork and then give the sucky up thingy some exercise. Lucky me!!

It seems like a rather quiet day for most of us!

Morning all, what a miserable wet day it is out there

Just put the Tesco grocery delivery. I actually brought Christmas crackers, haven't brought any for some years as we haven't spent Christmas at home but this year, who knows where we will be .

We have ordered the box set of Last of the summer wine from Amazon, its a sort 9f Christmas present for ourselves. It caught my eye when I noticed that it was on offer in their 'Black Friday ' deals . As the weather is getting colder and wetter, there isn't anything to do outside and we can't go anywhere we thought why not sit with our feet up with a cup of tea and loose ourselves in a bit of light hearted silliness, goodness knows we could do with it after the horrible year we've had.

Daisy I also hate the smell of damp towels.
WhenI was a child I hated the smell of damp woollies that mum would have draped over the clothes horse. No tumble dryer for mum but she did have a twin tub washing machine which was deemed as being posh back then . We even had fitted carpet in the sitting room which wasn't common place back then.

Mimi - I hate the smell of wet washing in the house generally. Wasn't if awful getting home from school on a wet Monday to see it all draped round the fire! (I know it was a pain for our mums, too.) Wool was the worst - and I can't even wear it, I'm allergic to it!

After I got married I bought a tumble drier when I didn't even have a proper washing machine! Gosh, a fitted carpet was posh in those days!

Mimi I think we are all preparing for all eventualities this year. Christmas at home with no guests, and Christmas with others.
We are invited to DD2 if it's allowed (and this will be my first time ever spending Christmas Day away for my own home!) We are also mentally and practically ready for spending it alone at home. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best, as they say!
Boxed sets with feet up are a good way to spend our time at the moment

It's pouring with rain now, and totally dark at 4.30. A good night to be in (as if there is any choice )
