Good morning Nanto/Ladies ,
Nanto it will be done in no time hope the weather is better than here ,
When we lived in our old house many years ago we had new windows put in , and the day they came it decided to snow heavily ,
They still went ahead with them, it was freezing they took our very large front window out and by the time the new one went in we had a pile of snow in the living room as the window was floor to ceiling type
Just dusted and did my ironing ,
I have a phone call booked with the surgeon who did my neck at 10 she most likely say the same as the clinic Dr did in last weeks phone call
will pop back later im off to take some pain killers and have a cup of tea ,
Hope everyone is ok today xxx

Good morning everyone.
Nan2, I hope the window fitting goes smoothly.
I hope the painkillers ease it Oma.
This morning we are going over to my mum's house. OH switched on the heaters in her bedroom and dining room last week and we want to make sure they are running OK. I also want to bring mums' Christmas cards here. I will write those for her and put in new address slips I have printed off. Any that go to her house we will pick up of course, but it will be nice if they arrive where she is as much as possible.
Quiz night tonight.

It is like summer here!!! I am going out on my bike soon, I have a lot of peppers from a friend so I want to get them ready for the freezer first.
A good idea to get the cards to the care home Gem.
Oma, I hope your shoulder is soon sorted out, what operation did you have on your neck? The thyroid one?

You are a very thoughtful daughter Gemini. Hope the Quiz goes well.
Oma I hope the telephone call goes well. I wish you could get some relief from your painful shoulder.
Nanto Hope the window replacement goes smoothly and keep warm.
I am planning a bedding change today, I find it very difficult now. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant there comes a time when we need to ask for help with things like bedding changes you know!
My auntie eventually asked her fortnightly cleaners to do it. Her DS lived far away then. We of course would have done it, but she asked the cleaners as they were coming in anyway.

Good morning everyone.
Nanto - I love your graphic - I'm sure your new windows will be lovely and done in no time. The industrious hens made me think of Oma wizzing round with her mop and dusters.
Oma - I wish we could do something to help your painful shoulder. Does rest help?
Plant - I find changing the bedding quite difficult, especially wrestling with a king size duvet! I've always changed the beds weekly, but at one point when my back was very bad and OH was away with work a lot I started using a top sheet and just changing the duvet cover every other week.
Gem - what a good idea to try and get friends and family to send your mum's Christmas cards directly to her care home. I remember you saying your mum doesn't have central heating in her house, so it will be hard to keep it dry and aired during the winter. We had the same problem with my cousin's house last winter (except that we were a 4 hour drive away) and on a viewing some bright spark must have turned a knob on the electric heater and we ended up with a huge electricity bill! We were lucky one of the neighbours offered to keep an eye on things and he'd check every few days after that. Enjoy your Quiz tonight!
It's been raining, but it seems to be brightening up a bit here, but I can't see the garden drying out much, unfortunately. Oh dear, I might be driven to do the ironing out of boredom!
Have a good start to the week, everyone.

Daisy, I meant to comment on Nan2's graphic today too - very good
Yes no central heating makes a harder job of keeping a property warm in winter, especially detached as there is no heat from next door!
The house is heated by gas fire, gas wall heaters, and plug in oil filled radiators. We have everything on now, on medium heat, apart from the living room fire. I need to find some sort of plug in heater for the living room, as we don't want to leave the fire on 24/7.
At least we are 10 to 20 minutes away depending on traffic, not 4 hours though!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

It does Daisy then I do something silly forgetting and it sets it off again ,
This morning it wasn't to bad then I went to take my PJ top off over my head forgetting and the pain shot through my arm ,
Roll on next month when I can get a injection ,
Just had a phone call from Surgeon she was happy to discharge me .
Gem keeping the house warm will protect the pipes too , do you think at some point you will have to sell ?
I really think your Mum is in the best place for her now isnt she ,
Daisy that must have been difficult living so far away , what nice neighbours to keep a eye on it for you , thankfully its all sorted ,especially now with needing to be near DS .
Plant Gem is right there does come a time when you have to ask for help, my MIL gets my SIL to change hers now but still insists on ironing her own bedding ,
Nanto always comes up with lovely graphics i love logging in on a morning to see what she has found , they make me smile
